About the Author

Thomas J. (“Tom”) Mew IV is of counsel with the firm of Rogers & Hardin, LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. Tom’s practice covers a broad range of employment law and litigation matters including both individual and class action wage-and-hour, discrimination, and harassment litigation, ERISA litigation, and general business litigation. Tom also regularly advises employers on employment contracts, releases, and restrictive covenant issues. Tom is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Georgia School of Law. Following law school, Tom served as a law clerk to the Hon. Herschel P. Franks of the Tennessee Court of Appeals and to the Honorable Harold L. Murphy of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Brian J. Sutherland is a partner with Buckley Beal, LLP, an Atlanta law firm which concentrates on the representation of plaintiffs in employment litigation and business disputes. Brian’s practice focuses on employment discrimination and retaliation, including whistleblower retaliation, as well as other federal civil rights matters in the areas of voting rights and constitutional litigation. Brian graduated summa cum laude from the Seattle UniversitySchool of Law in 2006. Brian was a Staff Attorney for the American CivilLiberties Union Southern Regional Office and Voting Rights Project before serving as a Trial Attorney for the United States Equal Employment OpportunityCommission. Brian joined Buckley Beal in 2012.
