This isn't a feel-good churchy pie-in-the-sky treatment of this subject. It's a needed exposé of what the Bible actually teaches about these sometimes controversial topics.
It also focuses on the Bible beliefs and faith of the Founding Fathers of the United States, and the original meaning of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. In the process, it brings greater clarity to these much debated topics.
You won't be subjected to gory details in this book, but you will be exposed to the difficult choices which surround firearm defense. Importantly, you'll be given the biblical tools needed for making hard, life and death moral choices.
You've probably never heard a pastor or church leader teach on this topic. Yet it is critically important for us to understand what the Bible actually has to say about these timely issues. Subjects such as our God-given Right of self-defense, firearm ownership, concealed carry, castle doctrines, the use of deadly force, and shoot-to-kill or shoot-to-wound, are all pivotal issues for us today.
Many are shocked to learn that these topics are addressed in the Bible. This book explains the Bible viewpoint, and what Jesus taught on these subjects which today are taboo in most churches. Bible passages are cited throughout, and hundreds more are included in footnotes, keeping the focus on the Bible not personal opinion.
The author, SIG SWANSTROM, is a former police detective and SWAT team operator who worked in the Los Angeles area. During his years of service, he personally had many deadly force encounters with armed criminals, so his writing is real world. And today, as the owner of a highly acclaimed firearms training academy in Texas, SIG has also learned how to capture the interest of his audiences as he teaches practical skills in the unique context of biblical truth.

About the Author
Armed with a university degree in criminology, and his practical experience as a police detective and crime scene investigator (CSI), SIG has had the opportunity to probe many criminal cases in which firearms were used against innocent people. And, he has also investigated incidents where law abiding citizens used guns against their attackers.
Since taking an early retirement from law enforcement, these experiences were further enhanced by living with terrorism and guerilla warfare for several years in Guatemala. During that country's bloody civil war, SIG's compound was attacked by guerrillas on three occasions, and on one deadly evening it was overrun. His family was with him at the time. So he also understands these issues from a WTSHTF perspective of widespread mayhem and revolution.
Recognition: During SIG's law enforcement career he was named "Police Officer of the Year," was a "Commendation for Valor" recipient, and he received the Mayor's Commendation, U.S. Attorney General's Commendation (Ed Meese), and numerous other awards and citations. He was also the personal bodyguard of president Ronald Reagan during the period after Reagan was governor of California but before he announced his candidacy for president of the United States.
Today, SIG is the owner of Texas Republic Firearms Academy (www.TXRFA.com), a firearms self-defense school based near San Antonio, Texas, and co-owner of Camp Barkeley Tactical (www.CampBarkeleyTactical.com) in Abilene, Texas. These provide training in handgun, tactical shotgun and rifle to the general public, as well as training for law enforcement and security-force personnel, both nationally and internationally.
