Trespassers will be gutted and hung!--Slagton's Town Motto

Normally, not even drunk on a bet would Violet Parker go to Slagton, a creepy ghost town inhabited by those too stubborn--or deranged--to leave.

But a certain bullheaded Deadwood detective has a problem--his informant from Slagton has gone missing. When Violet is shanghaied into taking a hunting trip to the ghost town to search for the missing snitch, she stumbles into trouble that will take more than a double-barreled shotgun to escape.

Will Violet survive this new Hell that haunts her, or will she end up on Slagton's growing list of those gutted and hung?

The only bad thing about this book is that I just finished it and now I have to wait for the next one!

Amazing series!! I absolutely love this series! The characters that Ann Charles has created and woven into this hilarious mystery series are unique, memorable, quirky, and lovable. I am truly amazed at the story-lines this author comes up with as she pits them her characters against the evils of another world, and sometimes against each other. I love all of the characters in this series and love stopping back in Deadwood to visit with them. Life is never dull in Violet's world, that's for sure. Gone Haunting in Deadwood is book #9 and one might think that a series that has gone on that long might get kind of stale and repetitive. But this series is anything but that. The relationships of the characters have grown and developed with each book—there is definitely nothing stagnate there. And Violet and her crew are constantly coming up against different creatures and learning new ways to conquer them. I have to hand it to Ann, she has one crazy vivid imagination! I listened to the audio-book of Gone Haunting in Deadwood, as I have several other ones in the past. The narrator does an AMAZING job and I just love listening to this series on audio.

I decided that I was going to reread all the books before reading this one. They are all great but they get better each time. There were so many laff out loud moments in this one that my husband wanted to know if I was losing my marbles because I was laughing so hard that I was crying. Can't wait for the next installment of life in Deadwood with Violet and the crew.

I have loved every book in the Deadwood series. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the language and the graphic sex. Why so many f- bombs? It used to be just Coop slinging smut, now Violet is spewing it.

She’s done it again. You go girl. You keep writing and I’ll keep enjoying.

As usual, Violet plans for a nice day at work only to find its resident ghost has a message. Even her home life takes a few spooky turns. With the help of those she loves and from a few she puts up with, Violet kicks butt again. A great, creepy ride!

As usual, Ann Charles, does not disappoint!! Another funny, suspense filled chapter to the Violet Parker story. Can't wait for the next book. I highly recommend.

I can't remember the last time I noticed the page number of a book, and though avidly involved in the outcome, realized that once finished it would be a while before I could have more fun and adventure with Violet and her friends and enemies. --Books4Me

I thoroughly enjoy Ann Charles' Deadwood series. Each book gets better than the last as we spend more time with Violet's family And friends. The characters are believable and likeable. The ghosts and ghouls are mind boggling. Every book causes me to crave the next installment. Can't wait.

If there was a picture next to the word "bittersweet" in Websters, it would be a collection of Ann's stories. I don't want them to ever end, but I want to know what happens next!

WOW, Ann Charles has done it again! In the last 8 months I have read all of her books at my friends recommendation. The best way to explain her writing style is that I feel like I know each and every one of her characters. The characters are well developed and easily relatable! If you are looking for a new book to fall in love with Ann Charles will not let you down.

Violet is trying to learn her roll as Executioner and Timekeeper but has a long way to go. She is forced to accompany Cooper to Slagton to find his informant. Violet hates the creepy ghost town but feels she must help Cooper. This gives us an intriguing, exciting, fun and laugh out loud story. Her characters are unique and all have different personalities that adapt and grow with the adventure. Can't wait for the next book. joy943

One of may favorite authors, Ann Charles, has just released a new book: "Gone Haunting in Deadwood" and it is a great read, one that a reader cannot put down in excitement of what ghastly and comical adventure Violet in her purple boots will encounter next. You will not want to miss this. Violet Parker has been roped into going on a mission to Slagton (Trespassers will be gutted and hung!) by Detective Cooper no less. Old Man Harvey is riding shotgun as Violet's self-proclaimed bodyguard. While there they encounter a new unfriendly form of whangdoodle. The situation escalates and soon everyone is drawn in: Doc, Cornelius, Zoe, Natalie and even the otherworldly Prudence, Mr Black, and Dominick. Just so things don't get too dull there is a new situation brewing at Calamity Jane Realty. This is a wonderfully entertaining episode in the ongoing Deadwood series. I can't wait for the next one!

Have you ever finished a book and just wanted to tell everyone to go buy it and read it? Well, that’s what I am doing right now! Gone Haunting In Deadwood definitely has got to be the best one yet in this series (until the next one comes out lol)! With so much going on, you will not be disappointed or bored at all. So much is learned as Violet, Doc, Harvey and Coop come together to solve a problem in Slagton and the excitement factor is knocked up ten notches. With this crazy cast of characters, the fun never stops! Especially when you add Cornelius to the picture who never ceases to bring more wackiness with him. Ann Charles brings her game with Gone Haunting In Deadwood for sure and has definitely upped the excitement factor. Thanks Ann for the laughs once again and for bringing one of the most enjoyable books I have read this year!

Violet and the crazy crew are back again and better than ever!! This book features a lot of pulse pounding action, both in Slagton and with Doc. Once I started it, I could not put it down! I'm not sure how Ann Charles does it, but each book in this series gets better and better! I can't wait for the next one already, it feels like catching up with friends!

Ann Charles strikes gold again! Even as the story gets a bit darker overall, the characters maintain their unique style and wit. All of the characters are three dimensional and grow and adapt as each adventure plays out. I also love the fact that the reader doesn't get more information than the main character. Bottom line, if you've been to Ann's Deadwood, make the return trip soon. If you are new to the series, do yourself a favor and start at the begining, you won't be sorry.
