I gave Five stars because this story was good enough to make me want to work through all of the errors, which are numerous. I also saw on kindle there is already a 1.5 book a Grim Holiday the editing for that was wonderful in comparison.

The author has edited this story and has reissued it. It was good before, but it is great now. She has added dialog and expained scenes. If you have already purchased this story, you can get the newer version by archiving the book then unarchiving it.

A review from Feb 25, 2015 says that the editing was corrected by the author and to archive and unarchive this book to reap the benefit. I'm not sure it works since I bought this a year later and should have received the corrected version, right? NOT!!! How in the world can you have tense changes within a sentence? Many many times! AAUGH! That said, the story was captivating (pun intended...) and although the grammatical errors were hugely jarring at first, I was able to "see" past them as I read on. Kind of like your nose getting used to a bad smell. Despite its grammatical shortcomings this story is worth the read (especially for S.E. Smith fans as stated by another reviewer), and I've already purchased the prequel, "Wray". Just to be on the safe side, though, I've archived and unarchived it. Hey, It can't hurt, right? This is the second book by this author that I've read and will eventually read them all. Enjoy! ***Smiles and waves goodby***

I agree with the other reviewer, about the way the writer spoke.... but i got used to it and actually realy liked the story. This would be a great series, if the author decided to right them. I would strongley sugest an editor and spell check. But even with my negative coments, I would still reccomend the book because the story like was great.

Present tense was a little strange but worth every penny

Excellent read!  Loved it, and really look forward to more of this series.  Great world building, not tedious detail but enough to set your imagination soaring!  And did I mention HOT?!!  So good you are willing to overlook the serious need for editing/proofreading, frustrating to read with the tense changes, etc.  but otherwise really enjoyable storyline.

Really, really enjoyed this book. The other reviewers were correct about the strange present tense and other errors, but after a few pages the characters and strong story overcame the negatives for me. This book was worth every penny and I highly recommend it! I went ahead and purchased the other books in this series and is happy to report that they are much better edited. This is now one of my favorite authors and I am looking forward to what's to come.

Jagkaren. Really good, great story line. 297 pages. I agree, it needs proof reading. Heck, it wouldn't take much to get someone to check for errors before publishing.

I fell as though I'm beating a dead horse by saying the author desperately needs a good beta reader and editor. (Did you get what I did here? Fell instead of feel. THIS is what I'm talking about peoples!) Unfortunately the book was sprinkled with incorrect word usage and bad grammar. The fact that it was written in the present tense also pulled me from the storyline several times. As to the storyline itself...I'll admit to rolling my eyes a couple of times at the beginning with how quickly Lisa falls for Grim. HOWEVER, I have to say that even with everything else pulling me away from the story (bad grammar, present tense, etc.), I was completely engrossed in the story and had a hard time putting it down. The world-building was complete and the characters were fleshed out. If you'll pardon the pun. Grim and Lisa were extremely likable and I was pulled in by several secondary characters as well. I gave this story 3 stars strictly for the story itself. The storyline pulls the technicalities of writing from a 1 star. I sincerely hope the author takes this as the positive criticism it is meant to be. I would hate to see an undeniably talented author suffer a lack of success due to minor issues.

I read the preview and was hooked from page one! Wonderful love story! However the grammatical errors through the book book drive me nuts! Still this one was well worth it! Looking forward to the next in the series and praying the editor for the rest of the series did a better job!

I read this and quickly bought all the remaining stories. I was not disappointed and will say the writing improves. I'm waiting for Ull's story and will grab it as soon as it is published.

This is a case of writer with a good concept and poor technique. She jumps between past and present tense within sentences and paragraphs in such a helter-skelter way it interferes with the story. Avoiding mixing verb tenses is one of the first things you are taught in English class. There are ways that it can be done but this writer just does it with no rhyme or reason. She doesn't know the correct use of a comma which then makes her meaning confusing. I spent so much time trying to decode her writing mistakes that I couldn't completely enjoy the story. It is a shame because the basic story is good, the world building is okay and the characters are not bad though a little stereotypical. Some of the elements of the story were even fun. I am assuming this is a self published book because any halfway decent editor would have fixed these grammar and punctuation issues. This book was just a dollar so I don't feel cheated but the remaining books are more expensive. I won't spend that kind of money on such amateurish writing. I hope she takes some writing classes to improve her craft or, at the least, gets a decent editor who will reject this sloppy writing until its fixed.
