Høvding Seattle (See-ahth), 1786-1866, var nordvestkystindianer af Suquami-stammen og skulle give navn til byen Seattle. Han var en vigtig brik i de hvides fredsslutninger med nordvestkystindianerne. Som optakt til traktatforhandlinger med USA holdt han en tale til guvernør Stevens i 1854 og det er denne tale som er "høvding Seattles tale".
