Halloween at the Graff 3.5 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 20 reviews.

Sinclair Jayne had an original storyline about love and trust. Calum had a sucessful show where he hunted ghosts. Walker had left Washington, D.C. in disgrace. She lost her job, her home, and her fiance due to lies. The editing needs help. "Her" should have been "here". Bad editing is bad for readers. I enjoy mysteries but trying to determine what Ms. Jayne was trying to evoke should NOT require the reader to interpret what she meant to say. I lowered my rating because I had to decipher the author's intent beyond the written word. Some of the storyline was impossible to enjoy because of the lack in editing. The storyline kept me plugging away to finish the book.lplplppo,

Halloween in Marietta, Montana what could be better? Oh I know Halloween time at the Graff Hotel which is in Marietta. Oh now that would be complete!! Oh yes this town is in my blood and part of my spirit too. Guess that is a good thing as we are going ghost hunting in this book. Oh yes we are. Attendance at the hotel is down so they hired a new gal to help bring in folks to the hotel and she happens to be new blood to the town. Well Walker Wilder errrr Kent as she is now known by is the brand spanking new PR person for the hotel. As she is cleaning up and looking for Halloween decorations in one of the upper rooms,, she notices a few ODD occurrences which gives her the idea to call in a ghost hunter. Does she believe the hotel is haunted? You have to read and decide for yourself but let me tell you a little about Calum Quest. Calum Quest is one fine ghost hunter himself. Not just that he has has high rated show about...what else ghosts but this man is so good looking and from reading this book he knows how to treat a lady right. OH yes... He belongs in Marietta for sure as he has the true Montana heart and sense of community that only a person from Marietta can display...which is odd as he is not from there...yet. This book is well written and has fun twists and ghostly turns. We get to reconnect with some of our Wilder families in Marietta and meet new ones. I am looking forward to more fun events and celebrations at the Graff and can't wait to see where Rafe ends up...Marietta or back down under.

Halloween at the Graff by Sinclair Jayne Holiday at the Graff #1 Ghosts – do you feel them, see them or believe in them? Walker Kent (aka Wilder) does not believe BUT she does want publicity for the hotel she has promised she will bring more business to. So, she sends an email to Calum Quest, ghost hunter extraordinaire. Calum, on his way to Marietta, Montana anyway to see a friend, texts back and a meeting is set up…and…what a meeting it is…had my toes curling and was perhaps my favorite meet-cute ever! With both Calum and Walker in a bit of a quandary about where their lives are heading next and feeling the chemistry and with a few secrets and a ghost or two (perhaps) lurking in the hotel…well…the story is un-put-down-able. I have to say that when I saw this book up for request on NetGalley I hoped I would receive it because I have never been let down by this author. It wasn’t the blurb or the cover that grabbed me it was the author’s name. I knew that no matter what she had written – I would enjoy it – and you know what? I truly did! Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

Terrific This was great Walker moved to Marietta for two reasons, one was one of her former interns worked there and helped her to get a job and two her father's family was from there. Calling came to see his friend Laird Wilder lived there and he also gives request to find a ghost in the Graff Hotel. And then he sees her.

Wordy, wordy, wordy and poorly edited. Most books based in Marietta are pretty good and entertaining, but this one's a stinker. Will erase from Nook to make more room.

Halloween at the Graff A small town, an historic hotel, and a ghost...what more can you ask for at Halloween? Walker Wilder's entire life has taken a dramatic turn in the past year. Her only chance to start over is a job in PR at the Graff Hotel in Marietta, thanks to an intern from her past life. Determined to make things work without her past interfering, she adopts her mother's last name and tries to figure out a way to up the hotel's bookings. A visit to the attic for Halloween decorations leaves her with an uneasy feeling, prompting an email to Ghost Quests in the hope of getting the Graff's name out there. Calum Quest has lost his feel for his show. He has come to Marietta to stay with his friend and figure out what he wants to do next, but takes a side-trip to the Graff when he receives Walker's email. Calum is more interested in Walker and her secrets than the possibility of a ghost at the Graff. The more time he spends, the more he finds himself charmed by the town and Walker. Walker is used to the high-powered career and life she used to have and doesn't expect to stay in Marietta too long. Her job and Marietta, as well as Calum, not to mention the family she has always wondered about, start to make her re-think her future and where she thinks she should be. Both Walker and Calum have some baggage, and I do like these two, especially together. It's fun to see them discover what a special place Marietta is, and for Walker to find her family. The was a Halloween ghost story that wasn't overly spooky, and in fact, had me giggling in some spots. This is a fun start to a new Marietta series set around the historic Graff hotel. It will be fun to see what's next for the Graff. **I received an advanced copy via NetGalley. My opinions are my own and freely given.

I thought this was a great storyline. Loved the way the ghosts from each of their pasts essentially brought Walker and Calum together.  Walker is rebuilding her big city life from the lies and letdowns,Calum is looking for answers but has grown tired of the hustle and bustle and seeks peace. But for his last hoorah he needs a Halloween spectacular. And The Graff just may be the haunting his show is looking for. Never did these two think they would find love out of this small town and ghost stories. But lies and deception may tear them apart before they ever ha e a chance to accept their love. Can her newfound family and his search for peace be found in one another and the small town sanctuar

Walker Wilder ran from DC to Marietta Montana after a scandal left all the blame to her. Hoping to just be able to see her cousins that she never got to know. Callus Quest is the star of a cable show Ghost Quests who is ready to move on with his life. When Callum gets an email from a hotel in Montana wanting to be on the show he decides to swing by and politely decline and continue on to his friends ranch. When Walker and Callum spot one another there is an instant connection. Can Walker lower her guard and take a chance? And will Callum stick around long enough to let her? I went into this book with so many expectations and ended up feeling let down. The whole thing seemed rushed to me as well as the first few chapters were hard for me to really get into it.. I did like Walker and Callum’s characters and the setting of the Graff Hotel.

Halloween at the Graff is the first book in the Holiday at the Graff Book series. This story is sweet with a touch of sexy. It doesn’t let all of the secrets out at once making the reader get pulled in with each page. Cute holiday story without being too Halloween’ish. I really enjoyed this story.

Halloween at the Graff by Sinclair Jayne, book one in the Holiday at the Graff series, is an interesting story. Walker Wilder’s life has imploded, making her feel lost and with no idea how she is going to turn her life around. When one of her former interns offers her a life-line with a job she is way over-qualified for and in Marietta, Montana, she jumps for it. Walker is now the new events director for the Graff Hotel, where she is trying to create a fresh buzz and new traditions to fill rooms during the off-season. Halloween might not seem touristy, but maybe hiring a spirit-hunting TV crew to showcase the ghosts within the Graff will definitely grab some headlines. Maybe Walker hasn’t lost her magic touch. Calum Quest is burned out. He created an entertainment empire chasing spirits he has never seen and is tired of asking questions which have no answer. He wants to recharge his life, starting a new adventure. When he sees Walker walking toward him he starts wondering if one truly can fall in love at first sight and if he can get her to reciprocate those feelings. Walker’s ideas for the Halloween celebration just might start some new traditions for Marietta, a life with Calum and with her newly found cousins. I enjoyed reading this book, reading it in one day. Sinclair Jayne is a great story teller able to draw her readers into her stories. I definitely recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Halloween at the Graff (Holiday at the Graff Book 1) by Sinclair Jayne This is Callum Quest and Walker Wilder’s story. This was a fun read with mysteries or could it be ghosts with a hot romance. FYI, contains mature and graphic content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Excellent start to what should be a fun series of Marietta holiday stories featuring the historic Graff Hotel. This one is a Halloween themed story obviously and it's a good one. Walker Wilder is the new event planner for the Graff and it's her job to try and get business up during the off season. First challenge is Halloween. Bringing in a ghost hunter team seems like just the idea she needs to get interest up and bookings flowing. Calum Quest has built his career around ghost chasing but he's beginning to tire of the whole thing so taking on the Graff job isn't appealing. That is until he gets a look at Walker. Fun read that I definitely recommend.

After her political career in Washington DC comes to a crashing halt, Walker Wilder is starting her life over again in Marietta, Montana as the new events director at the Graff Hotel. Her first job is getting the hotel ready for Halloween where she encounters a mysterious chair in the attic. It was creeping her out and she could have sworn it moved. Walker starts thinking the idea of a ghost in the hotel would be a great way to bring in more business. She needs the help of a ghost hunter fast. Calum Quest, of the television show Ghost Quests, is headed to Marietta to visit one of his friends when he gets the call from Walker about the possibility of a ghost in the hotel. He didn’t plan on doing any scouting during his trip, but he does have a Halloween show he needs to think about. Maybe the Graff Hotel would be a good fit for the show. As Walker and Calum spend time together, they find they are drawn to each other. But a secret that Walker keeps could threaten their new relationship. I was intrigued by the idea of a ghost hunter as the hero in a in a romance book. So, the fresh idea had me hooked. It was a well written and interesting book. But I was left with a couple unanswered questions. Maybe they will be picked up in future books as this is the start of a new series.

I enjoyed this book. Some conflict but a good love story to relax you for the day.

I enjoyed the story even though I couldn't identify too much with the heroine, Walker. She seemed to be too skittish (I guess I'd be, too, if I had experienced the previous year she had). Anyway, I did enjoy learning more about the Wilders. I look forward to reading Christmas at the Graff.

A little slow at times. Also, too much self pitty on part of main character.

This book had potential for a great plot but nothing was developed and you might have mised it because the action was sparse and mixed with memories of character issues. Also there was way too much mental foreplay. Thankfully no actual sex scenes to bog it down further. Sorry I even took the time to skim through it. Oh, I almost forgot all the misspellings and other errors. Martha Steward? Really?

Opportunities to expand on the story and draw the reader in were missed. The ghost angle was barely touched, Walker's past never touched her present really, and the editing was atrocious. How does that even happen?
Anonymous More than 1 year ago
The story line was interesting but as a reader I was a little insulted by the repetitious descriptions. The plot needed to be more developed and a lot more action was needed. Maybe a character from Walker's troubled past could have come to spice it up or she could try to see her grandfather. The storyline of the ghost could have been more developed. There were a lot of possibilities that were missed that could have brought more action to the story..

Auto correct is not a friend of this story and missing words within sentences was problematic as you fall in love with the characters. I want to give it more stars but the editor totally phoned this one in. If you are looking for an interesting holiday Hallmark with spooky twists story this is the perfect book. Looking forward to the next book.
