Overview

Hamster Magic by Lynne Jonell, Brandon Dorman

Lynne Jonell, the popular author of Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat, makes her Stepping Stones debut with a high-spirited tale of mixed-up magic and wishes gone wrong.

Celia Willow is the baby of the family, and she’s sick of it. She's sick of being younger and smaller. She's sick of never being taken seriously. So when Celia's hamster surprises the Willows with his wish-granting powers, she blurts out her deepest desire.
The problem? Celia didn't exactly wish to be furry.
Her big brothers and sister can't let their parents see her like this, but they only have one night to fix things. How can Abner, Tate, and Derek reverse something as powerful as hamster magic . . . before breakfast?

Hamster Magic is on the Texas Bluebonnet Masterlist for 2012-2013 and was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award.

About the Author

Lynne Jonell is the author of the popular Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat, a Booklist Editors’ Choice and one of School Library Journal’s Best Books of the Year, as well as The Secret of Zoom and seven picture books. Okay so here's a haiku: -in the green garden-you can feel the magic of life-close your eyes and fly. (Just so you know I might sound like I'm trying to make myself be pretty but this is my honest to goodness appearance) blond waist length hair, green eyes, pale skin, watermelon-y pink lips. Sweet smile/personality, but can totally defend herself/her friends if necessary. Plays piano, writes poetry/books, loves fashion and vintage stuff. Loves pearls, birds and purple gel pens. (Yea its a little detailed but what the hey)

(My real looks) A petite girl with not pale, yet not tanned, skin. (It is in summer!) Shoulder length light brown hair with highlights. A side bang, layers, and face framing. Blue eyes. Ethnic race: mostly British. Also German, Slovakian, French, and Romanian. (Of course American!) Age: 10 Religion: Christian School: Moss Oaks Acadamy (AKA homeschooled) Personality: kind, yet can be unkind when aggitated. Also pretty emotional.

It seem intersting. But I don't see where the story was going with the magic that much. Beside the part that the hamster was gone.
