It's beginning to look a lot like love . . .

As her thirtieth birthday approaches, deputy Jill Flaherty decides it's time to live a little. When she walks into Sawyer Anderson's bar in her sexiest dress, she's not thinking that he's her brother's best friend or about the many women he dated during his years as a pro hockey player. All she's thinking is that it's finally time to confess to her longtime crush how she truly feels.

Sawyer is done being a player on and off the ice. Yet no one in the small town of Christmas seems to believe he's ready to settle down, not Jill, and certainly not Jack, who is determined to keep Sawyer from breaking his little sister's heart. But as Sawyer and Jill's relationship heats up, can he prove that he's her happy ever after?

AudioBook Review Stars: Overall: 4 Narration: 4 Story: 4 Christmas Colorado is a tiny little town, where everybody knows your name. Especially well-known is Jill, the no-nonsense deputy. She’s never had the nerve to step out and declare her feelings for Sawyer, but maybe now is the time. There’s only one problem: Sawyer is her brother’s best friend and he’s only seen her as Jack’s little sister. While rarely nervous in her professional life, she’s not used to putting herself out there…but she does it in style! Sawyer owns a bar in town, and aside from being Jack’s best friend, he’s got a reputation as a ladies man. But, he’s really not – sweet and wanting his own family, he’s the one most responsible for that reputation. These two are wonderful together, and their issues and desires mirror one another: both want family and forever, both are worried that they aren’t ‘enough’ to sustain that relationship. As if their own back and forth wasn’t enough, BOTH Jack and Sawyer are trying to set her up with other men in hopes to not see her hurt. Nell: so biter and gossipy from the last book opens up to share her story. Truly someone you would go out of your way to avoid, we learn her backstory and how she's hurting. Her attempts to step in and mother Jill, offering advice and support was wonderful. A whole new impression of her. It is truly like coming home with each Christmas story, and you’ll soon find yourself looking for those moments. The connection between Sawyer and Jill is palpable, with chemistry off the charts and so romantic. Yes – that top of the Empire State Building on Valentine’s Day sort of romance. Smiles all around as they finally discover what they always wanted. A series that is always satisfying and heartwarming. Narration is provided by Becket Royce, the first time I’ve encountered her work. Crisp delivery, solid delivery of the story using vocal changes in pitch and tone to distinguish each character. Pacing, tone and subtle moments of nuanced emotion brought this story to life, and made this a wonderful listen. I received an audiobook copy of the title from Hachette Audio for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated or this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Favorite Quotes: Not that she was beautiful; the only way she stopped traffic was by turning on her siren. Her lumbersexual. He sounds wonderful doesn't he, Alice? ... We're so happy she has a beau. We thought she was a lesbian, you know. As he walked back down the road, she reached over the seat and grabbed the bullhorn. She yelled into it, 'I love you, Sawyer Anderson.' She was pretty sure all of Christmas heard her. My Review: Silly me, I really should pay more attention. I picked up this book thinking it was about Christmas, well, it was, but not the season. Christmas was the small town featured in all seven books of this entertaining series, and I would love to go backward and read the previous six. Each character mentioned in this tightly knit, meddling, and gossipy group sounded interesting and noteworthy. I wanted to know them all, well, most of them anyway. The writing was engaging and vacillated from angsty and emotive to humorous and amusing. Also included were hits of steam, intrigue, personal loss, policewoman action, and tied up at the end with a pretty bow and sigh of relief HEA.

I won this book from Goodreads giveaways for an honest review. I loved this storyline. If you have read the other stories it would be ok because this story can stand on it own. What do you do when you are in love with your older brother's friend and he think of you as a little girl and not the woman that you have become. What make it fun is you are an accomplished police officer and want to run for sheriff but people say you have a bit of a problem dealing with some people from you small town and you get told you need to soften a bit. You get assigned to help at a Senior Home and become close to the people there and know that something in wrong and you want to fix it. And then you finally hook up with the guy you love get pregnant and a lot of unfortunate this happen. I love this book and had to keep a box of tissues close.

(Third series book I've attempted to read; first one I've actually finished. Third time's the charm, obviously.) Where to start? So much was going on in this one...at times, a little too much. Talk about having to go through the wringer to get to your HEA--Jill and Sawyer definitely earned it, that's for sure! I picked this one up because of two things: 1) Sawyer's an ex-NHL player and 2) best friend's little sister troupe. Hockey players are my catnip, and I love the angst that BFLS stories can bring. On the second, this story did not disappoint, though that part of the conflict was resolved fairly early in the story and gave way for a whole lot of other angsty stuff. Maybe a bit too much? I'm still not sure how I feel about some of the directions this story went in. On the hockey front, I did really like the scene early on where Jill was strong-armed into playing in the championship game against Sawyer and Jack's team. I'm not sure it's really plausible to do so well in your first game ever, but it was entertaining nonetheless. I also loved Sawyer's sabotaging of Jill's dates. Very amusing...unless you're Jill, of course. ;) Some of the other plot diversions? Birth control mishaps, nursing home mysteries, ex-husband drama, former relationship angst, kidnapping, shoot-outs, predatory coworkers...the list goes on and on. I was starting to wonder what wasn't going to happen to these two before we got to "the end"! Not having read the rest of the series, having so many secondary characters involved in/invested in the story's outcome did get a bit overwhelming at times. It was easy to keep track of Jack and Grace (Jill's brother/SIL) and Brandi and Trent (Sawyer's coworker and her son) but everyone else tended to blend together and leave me with a feeling of "now who is this person again...?" for at least a paragraph or two each time they show up. For series regulars, though, I have a feeling this story will be right up their alley--everyone's in it, and it seems to wrap everything up nicely. I enjoyed the HEA, and was beyond glad when we finally got to that point. It felt like a long and rambling journey at times, but ultimately all's well that ends well, right? Rating: 3 stars / C+ I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Deputy Jill Flaherty has been in love with her brother's best friend all her life, but he's never seen her as more than his bestie's younger sister. With everyone around them falling in love and the clock ticking against her, Jill thinks it's time to reach out for her own happiness, even if it means putting herself out there with Sawyer. Sawyer Anderson has successfully cultivated the persona of a playboy and no-one in Christmas expects anything else from him, but his best friend's sister is off limits, not matter how hot she looks in a red dress. But when things change between them and he realizes that he feels more for her than friendship, can he convince her to give them a chance at happy ever after? I'm always excited to pick up a new installment in this series because I know I'll love it and doubly so because this is my favorite trope. Plus, it's about time Jill got her own happy ending. In fact, Jill was my favorite thing about this book. She's loyal, hardworking, strong and independent, maybe a little too much, but her hard outer shell covers a sensitive and easily bruised inside. I can relate to her need to keep her personal life private, which is almost impossible in Christmas because everyone knows that there is no secret in Christmas. Sawyer on the other hand I didn't really like very much because of how indecisive he was about Jill and the other stuff he had going on, and it wasn't until the end that he endeared himself to me with how he thoughtful and sweet he was. Any story in this series is never complete without the people of Christmas, especially Nell and I loved the glimpses into her past that we got, but even more I loved the connection between her and Jill and how she was the only person that could reach Jill when she needed it. One thing about this story and the series is that Ms. Mason knows how to really tap into a reader's feelings and you are sure to experience a range of emotions as you read. HAPPY EVER AFTER IN CHRISTMAS is another fun and entertaining addition to the series and I hope that there is more to come. There’s just something about the characters author Debbie Mason creates that makes you feel like they’re real people you know. Her characters are well-developed, realistic and extremely likable. Narrator Becket Royce does an excellent job bringing the various characters to life with their own unique voice. Her mannerisms enhance the emotions of the story. She is spot on when it comes to her delivery and her timing is perfect. Mason’s small town setting draws you in as the story unfolds. Her vivid descriptions and the characters’ interactions makes the story come alive. This is a sweet romance story with humor and bits of sadness blended together. The journey is where the fun lies in following this story. The friendship and devotion along the way adds depth. No matter if this is your first visit to Christmas, Colorado or you’re a returning fan, HAPPY EVER AFTER IN CHRISTMAS is a delight to read/listen to. The quirky characters and charming setting won’t disappoint as you get lost in this tantalizing tale. FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this audio book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

Christmas Colorado is somewhere where I think I would want to live or if I was writing a fantasy romance novel, it would be the hometown of my characters. Debbie Mason paints a picture perfect community and characters of whom her readers are drawn too. No surprise that her audience will love Deputy Jill Flaherty and root for her. Her secret crush on her brothers best friend Sawyer for just about 18 years all comes to a head on collision when the secret is let out of the bag and Jill decides to try to dating and forgetting about the man she has been pining over for years. I loved Sawyer Anderson and especially the wake up he got when he started seeing Jill date. In fact the way he continuously ruined her dates is pretty comical and will have you laughing out loud. The connection between Jill and Sawyer is pretty magical and Debbie Mason does a great job reflecting in the friendship that has developed between Sawyer and Jill. I love that the fact they are friends for so long is a centerpiece in the storyline and Mason does not stray from it. I love Mason’s take on the brother’s best friend romance or the forbidden romance. She does an excellent job in creating characters with whom her audience can identify with and love. If you love romance, a good laugh and are in need of a good book this summer then Happy Ever After in Christmas is the book for you. I could not put this book down and was sad that I wasn’t privy to the background of other characters (As this is the 7th book in the series), however it did not hinder the storyline at all. I know I will definitely be reading the other titles in this series and definitely recommend it to be added to your To-Be-Read Shelf. Do NOT wait till Christmas to read Happy Ever After in Christmas!

I LOVED this book. It had me laughing, crying, and smiling. I just adore this series. In this installment of the series we have Sawyer and Jill. Jill is a kick butt deputy and over all awesome lady. She's had a serious crush on Sawyer for forever, but he just sees her as his best friend's little sister or does he? What brought so much to this one was the history between Sawyer and Jill. Jill is such an awesome person always looking out for everyone she deserves someone to be there for her. The shenanigans in this one had me laughing up a storm. There are also some very serious moments and a little water works resulted. It was such a joy to read Sawyer and Jill's story. I so hope there is more to come in this series because I love the town of Christmas.

Loved this book and love this author. What a wonderful series and characters. All her books are great. One strange comment - when people talk about a man's color of hair they usually do not refer to it as brunett. It's usually called brown or black or blond or light or dark. Maybe it's just me but brunett is generally referring to women. Oh well just saying. Love it love it. More please.

This is book # 7, in the Christmas, Colorado series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. Head up - I recommend reading this series in order so the inside jokes and understanding is there. Jill & Sawyer have known one another a long time. He is her brother's best friend, and her soul mate. Only he does not see her that way. Sawyer is just starting to notice that Jill is a woman. He never looked at her like that before. Her brother and his best friend keeps warning them apart. But does he truly know what he is warning against? I really loved this book. It made me laugh, cry, and even have anger. I felt this story to my bones. I feel like this was the author and the series BEST. Book. Yet. I found it very entertaining. ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I've been waiting for Jill and Sawyer's story and I loved every single bit of it! Jill's been in love with Sawyer since she was ten, but he has always seen her a sister. She is not like most of the women he hooks up with, as a matter of fact she is the complete opposite. When she decides it's time to move on, Sawyer can't stand to see her with other men. But even though he is attracted to her, he's afraid it would ruin his friendship with her brother. These two obviously belong together, but they don't have the easiest of time getting to their happily ever after. There are some tear jerking moments along with some sigh worthy ones. I highly recommend this series of sweet romances! I received an ARC via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

When you reach the end of a series that's kept you company, made you laugh, swoon and fall in love with a fictional town and great characters you wished were real, it's hard to turn that last page and realize you won't be part of your fictional friends' lives anymore. That's what happened to me when I reached the end of Happy Ever After In Christmas. This book, just like the previous ones, is the perfect mix of fun, laugh-out-loud moments, sweet scenes and heart-warming romance. It will keep you glued to the pages and make you want to read on, while at the same time you won't want it to end. Jill and Sawyer's story was amazing, with some emotional moments that nearly brought me to tears, as well as the usual funny moments that are typical in this series, and romantic scenes that put a silly smile on my face. There is also a little bit of angst toward the end, that will definitely make you hold your breath, but all in all, this is a sweet and emotion-filled romance with sky-high levels of chemistry - without the graphic sex scenes as a bonus. If you've enjoyed the previous books in the series, Jill and Sawyer's happy ending won't disappoint you. If you've yet to meet the people of Christmas, you can enjoy this book all the same, but I'm pretty sure you'd want to go back and read the other characters' story, too. In order to avoid spoilers, I would suggest starting from book one - you won't regret it. ***I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***

Jill isn’t the most girly of girls but just because she can kick butt while in uniform doesn’t mean that she doesn’t want the same happy ending that everyone else does. Unfortunately her dream guy is also her brother’s best friend and someone who doesn’t see her as girlfriend material. Growing up together definitely makes it hard for him to see her as anything else and you can’t help but feel bad for everything that she goes through. She’s never felt quite good enough and to have someone she’s loved forever not want her back is definitely a heart breaker. There’s a lot of back and forth between these two, but once she sets her mind to turning his head things definitely get crazy fast and Mason makes sure that it is a heck of a ride. I love the fact that while Sawyer gets a lot of things right – kind, caring and helpful – when he screws up he does it big time:) I can definitely get why somehow these two never quite make it onto the same page – they get close but somehow just keep missing it. It makes for heart-squeezing moments, but also fun times, as the two of them try to figure out where they stand with one another. (When I read Kiss Me in Christmas, the book before this one in this series, I felt like you needed to have at least read the story before that one to truly be able to keep up and enjoy. But here, I don’t think it is a problem. Previous couples do make an appearance and you’d be more likely to pick up on all the nuances if you’d read their story too, but not to the degree as before. I think this time, Happy Ever After in Christmas can easily stand on its own. Although if you read, Christmas in July – which I did and loved, although I don’t know how I keep missing other books in the series – then you’d get a smidge better understanding of the interplay with Sawyer, Jill, Jack and Grace although I think that Mason does a great job of giving you the important parts. It’s been a long time since I read it and I kept up just fine:) ) Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

This is my second Debbie Mason book and I loved it just as much as I loved the last one. The writing keeps getting better, is heartfelt, beautiful, funny and witty. I don’t have enough words to describe how happy they make me. This book was ideal for me, I love the plot line of guy or girl falling for the best friend’s sister/brother. Now in this case I don’t have the entire background information and if you are like me and you haven’t read the past books in the series and are worried you are not going to get it, do not worry! The book does an amazing job at describing some parts of the past and all the background info and also feelings and combines them perfectly with the present. Oh there were so many swoony moments! I felt giddy for most of the book, I wanted to applaud the characters at certain points and at others I just wanted to scream at them to get together already. I’m so happy these books came into my life, I always feel happy and lighters after reading them. Thank you Debbie Mason

Jill wants more than to be the tomboy little sister or just one of the guys. She wants to feel like a sexy woman for a change and knows just the man to help her fulfill that dream. Debbie Mason adds style to her romances. Her Christmas Colorado series mixes small town vibe with sugary sentiment and heated romance. Risking it all Jill offers her heart and body to the one man that personifies all her hopes and fears. Sawyer was fun, sweet and clueless. His actions caused a great deal of heartache and chaos. Unintentionally. I like reading Ms. Mason's Christmas series because at the end, I leave feeling warm and fuzzy. She can cast her spell on me anytime.
