Written by a Southern sympathizer (and a minister!) in 1864, this book purports to justify slavery through Biblical interpretation. This a remarkable window into the mind of a religious man denying any problem with the enslavement of his fellow man. Here is an example of the slant this author takes with a Northern white woman interviewing a slave:
