Hawkins is the final brother to meet his mate in the McCullough family. However, while loving his mate comes easy both Hawkins and Jamie have to overcome their own demons before they can live out their days happily. Hawkins has lived and breathed the military since he was 17 years old. He's seen and done things that gives him nightmares and believes that there is no love left in him to give to a mate. But when he meets Jamie all bets are off. Now it's up to Hawkins to overcome his demons and give Jamie the love she not only deserves but has never experienced in life. Jamie is a bear shifter plus more. After being abandoned by her mother and experimented on she is everything Jon is and more. She's made it her mission to help the trafficking of babies to these labs and experiment on them the way she was. Jamie believes there is no male out there who would want to saddle themselves with such a monster, but she'll soon learn that the McCullough's embrace the things that make each of the family members different and accepts her into their lives, homes, and hearts. Jamie is just as scary if not scarier than Lauren. The things she can do not only help out the Hawkins and Lauren for their last mission, but also help when people are looking for her to return her to the labs. A good ending to the series. However, it left open a few unanswered questions. Like: who were the guys in the beginning after Jamie? Who were they working for? Was Jamie's mother a bear shifter and that's how she is one? (I assume this answer would be yes)

Hawkins was the book that everyone was waiting for, he was the black sheep, kept to himself and did not believe he would be alive to have a mate. The military honed him into a weapon, finding his mate on a mission was totally not in his plans which makes it pretty damn funny. ( the females of the family think so also) Jamie has not had a family, she was abandoned and experimented on making her something else. The old saying what doesn't kill you makes you stronger definitely applies to this lady. This was an awesome storyline, filled with danger, drama, funny interactions between the characters and of course our last McCullough's Happily ever after. Now don't be thinking this was an easy pairing because you would be totally off base. Think about who you are talking about , Hello Hawkins, nothing is gonna be easy with him. The sparks between the two characters are definitely entertaining and keep you engaged with the storyline right up to the end. I am always sad when a series ends and this series is no exception. I will miss seeing how the characters live out the rest of their lives ( and yes I know its make believe but they have become friends who I hate to let go). Hopefully we might get a peek at them again if Ms. Barton wants to give us a treat. However, it was a great ending.

I never thought that Hawkins was ready for a mate, but when he found her things weren’t going well. Jamie was not happy to be someone’s mate. She was so messed up and didn’t know what to do. The was a twist or a turn, love, happiness, plots to kill and lots of family. I was sad that Jon didn’t find him someone to love or be loved. This is a great series just like all her others, but I really enjoyed this story so much that I went to bed so late that I only got 3hrs of sleep before I had to go to work.

Loved how she ended this series, but I will miss the characters that she brought to life. 167 pgs on my Nook and worthy the money ;)
