Cassidy has a history with the Brothers of Mayhem MC. Before he was sent to prison, Cassidy’s father was president. Her foster father was the VP before he was involved in an accident and is now wheel-chair bound. Cassidy is bound and determined to keep her brother out of trouble. Thing is though, he is trying to become a member of the MC. Because she does not want this kind of life for him, she decides to go to the biker bar looking for answers about her brother. The only thing is she brings a bat to the party. She starts smashing things and shooting off at the mouth. You can imagine how well this goes over with members of the MC. You just don’t disrespect them. Because she is the daughter of the previous president, she has had some leeway and has been able to stay out of trouble with them. But now they don’t really care who her father was. While he is none too happy about the situation, Thorn steps in to save her. After all Thorn is an undercover cop so his instincts kick in to protect her, even if she makes it difficult at times. But the only way he can keep Cassidy out of trouble is to tell the brothers she is his old lady. While he expected to keep her safe, he never thought he would have to guard his heart against falling for her. Both these characters are strong and independent. Neither one of them is afraid to speak their mind. The chemistry between them is strong. There is a sense of suspense and danger, including drugs/violence, weaved throughout the story. The plot was well developed so the story flowed easily. I like how the issue with her brother was resolved. It made him take responsibility for his own actions instead of scrapping out of trouble. I look forward to more stories about the Brothers of Mayhem.

A great new MC series and WOW what a ride! Thorn being undercover in the MC club and a kick a** feisty woman in Cassidy makes for some great reading. Thorn was a sexy undercover agent in the club and it played well that he had his hands full with a mouthy, gritty Cass who stretched it to the limit with the club pres. Fast paced, full of drama and "mayhem". If you like MC books, I would recommend this one! This is the first book I have read by Carla Swafford and I look forward to more of this series. Can't wait to read Full Heat this summer! Thank You to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Loveswept for gifting me with and ARC and only asking for an honest review.

I could not put this book down. I loved Cassidy and her determination to protect her brother from the harsh life within the MC. She also had the strength to realize that he needed to learn by making his own mistakes. Her journey included a run in with the leadership of the MC, forcing her to accept the help of Thorn. Their attraction is instant and strong. Despite the situation, Thorn is caring, gentle, and very male. I hope to read more from Carla Swafford. I had an opportunity to read this through Netgalley.

This is a fast paced drama filled MC read. Cassidy will do anything to keep her brother safe, even show up at a clubhouse full of bikers. Thorn is an undercover cop trying to bring the club down, can he protect Cassidy and his secret? Great chemistry between the characters, the story held my interest throughout, looking forward to more in the series.

Not usually a fan of MC romance but this one surprised me! Not usually a fan of MC (Motorcycle Club) romances, I was a bit hesitant reading HIDDEN HEAT by Carla Swafford but having read her Circle series, I knew she could pack a wallop when she needed to so I took a chance. I’m glad I did. This story was about more than bikers, causing trouble, and behavior bordering on misogynistic. It was tough but emotional, forgiving, and steamy as all get out. Cassidy is a woman with her own mind. Yeah, there were a few times when I thought she pushed the envelope a bit in her defense of her brother, Storm but hey, she is a badass biker chick. But then there is Thorn…hey, he could bring out the femininity in any woman, even the most badass like Cassidy. Carla is good at conjuring real men in her stories and that’s what you get with Thorn. He is sex personified. He’s everything you’d expect from a biker but then he’s not. The pairing was perfect. HIDDEN HEAT, book one in the Brothers of Mayhem series by Carla Swafford is action from the start and it just keeps going. There’s so much going on in the story that you have to stay glued to it just to keep track. I do think the ending felt a bit rushed but it worked so I can’t complain too much. However, it would’ve been nice if it lasted just a little bit longer so I didn’t have to say good-bye to Thorn yet. If you’re a fan of MC romance, you’ve got to read HIDDEN HEAT by Carla Swafford. If you’re like me, and kind of on the edge, give it a try because I think it might surprise you as much as it did me. ***eARC provided by author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

I loved this book - it's filled with hot romance and plenty of suspense when Cassidy enters the Mayhem MC bar in looking for her 17 year old brother. She has tried to keep him away from the MC since she was a little girl, but he is adamant that he will join the MC and follow in their father's footsteps. It is a bad idea and as soon as she enters, she gets in trouble with the Skull (club president). Thorn is the bartender and an undercover cop investigating the club. He comes to Cassidy's defense in the only way an MC understands.....as his old lady. Cassidy is quick to play along, despite her near constant tension with the Skull and other members. What follows is plenty of sexiness and suspense as Thorn tries to find the stolen goods, protect his cover, protect Cassidy, and not fall in love. This is not the typical MC novel that is so popular these days where the girl falls in love with a bad boy who really isn't so bad and all the guys love and take care of their old ladies. The guys in the Mayhem MC are not nice - you'd be hard pressed to find anything nice about them. It's a refreshing change from the glamorization of MCs in those books. Fans of the genre will love this book. I have added the author to my must read authors' list.

The bat swinging bundle of hotness who busted into the Skull and Bones is none other than the daughter of the founding Skull and she is rescued by the bartender/former Army Ranger/undercover cop. This is fast-paced, sexy, intense, dirty, gut-wrenching, raunchy, and emotionally fulfilling that had me quickly turning pages. **Received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

I couldn't put this book down. What a gritty, tension filled read about an outlaw motorcycle club, an undercover cop, and the daughter of the former MC president. The romance is hot. Danger is around every corner, yet the romance really shines through. I received a review copy from Net Galley for an honest review

Hidden Heat is the first installment in Carla Swafford's new Brothers of Mayhem MC series. This exciting new series will have readers on the edge of their seat and begging for more. Cassidy Ryder will do anything to protect her brother from getting wrapped up with the Brothers of Mayhem motorcycle club, even if that means putting herself in danger. After watching the club destroy her parents you would think Cassidy and her brother would have learned to stay away. Instead it just added extra appeal, but Cassidy learned when she was 16 that the appeal doesn't out weigh the danger of being associated with them. When her brother Storm decides he wants to become a Prospect of the club Cassidy is willing to do anything to stop him even if that means making herself a direct target. Thorn Savalas isn't all he appears to be. As the bartender at the clubs watering hole, Thorn looks the part of a badass biker, down to his Brothers of Mayhem leather cut. But underneath that gruff exterior is a drop dead sexy cop who is hell-bent on bringing down the Brothers of Mayhem. He has worked too long undercover for anything to stop him. But when Cassidy walks into the bar wielding a baseball bat and attitude, Thorn will risk everything to save her from the Brothers, even if that means risking his own agenda. This book was awesome! I loved the chemistry between Cassidy and Thorn and his determination to keep Cassidy safe. This is a definite must read and I cannot wait for more books from this series! I received an eARC of this book from the publisher for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Hidden Heat is a fantastic read. This might be one of the few times that I’ve loved the heroine more than the hero. Cassidy Ryder is a girl who definitely has her stuff together. I loved that Cassidy wasn't a whiney girl—that she’s a mature-thinking woman even though she’s only twenty-one. And this came from Cassidy's hard life of being raised around a Motorcycle Club. Daughter of an ex MC President and her mother who was murdered when she was a young girl, has made Cassidy tough. She had to grow up fast, especially when she had a young brother to take care of. With that thought in mind about Cassidy, that's why I loved Cassidy and Thorn's ending to their story. It's just the way I would imagine Cassidy would be when Thorn returns. Cassidy handled her relationship with Thorn—who’s an undercover cop—with the right frame of mind. Cassidy knew that when she was falling in love with Thorn, there was no guarantee that she and Thorn would have a future together. Cassidy also knew Thorn would go on to the next undercover job, so she accepted what she was getting into when she fell in love with Thorn. I know I'm talking about the ending first in my review, but I just thought it was an awesome, happily ever after ending with Cassidy and Thorn, because of Cassidy's maturity in the way she handled things. Great communication between Cassidy and Thorn. Thorn Savalas is a cop working undercover to bring down the top leaders in the Brothers of Mayhem MC. But just when he's close to getting the information he needs to finish the job, Cassidy Ryder walks into the Brother of Mayhem’s bar with a baseball bat looking for her younger brother, Storm, who's been hanging with the MC. And the only way for Thorn to protect the headstrong, sassy mouthed Cassidy from getting killed is to claim her as his old lady. Cassidy and Thorn’s hot, steamy hook-up will become their most dangerous adventure to their forever love story. Hidden Heat is a keep you on the edge suspense with a sizzling hot romance. It also has a tiny little twist at the end that will melt your heart. I recommend Cassidy and Thorn's story as a must read.

As the daughter of the former president of the Brothers of Mayhem MC Cassidy Ryder is biker royalty, not that it matters to her. All she wants is to get her younger brother out of the clutches of the MC before he's too far gone and she doesn't plan on letting anyone or anything get in the way of her goal. Only, she forgot her place in the hierarchy and only the quick intervention of a stranger saves her from landing in a world of hurt or worse. Thorn Savalas is an undercover cop tasked with bringing down the Brothers of Mayhem and he can't let Cassidy throw a wrench in his plans nor is he going to sit by and let her get hurt. When Thorn stepped up to save Cassidy and declared her his old lady, I was excited about how their romance would play out, especially with her feisty and fiery way of going at things. Between the sheets, everything was as hot as I expected. But beyond that is where I had issues. There is a line between feisty and foolish and it didn't take long for Cassidy to cross it, in my opinion. For someone who grew up in an MC, she was really careless about her safety and spent whatever capital her connections had bought her by mouthing off at men who could and would do whatever they wanted to her without any fear of repercussions. Luckily for her, Thorn was really patient and protective and stood between her and the rest of the MC. I decided to tackle genres that I have previously avoided this year and MC romances fall into that category. There have been some hits and misses along the way and HIDDEN HEAT falls somewhere in the middle. Ms. Swafford captures the gritty and dissolute lifestyle that is expected in a way that was too real and sometimes uncomfortable, as well as the illicit nature of their dealings. However, my lack of complete enjoyment of this book can be attributed mostly to Cassidy. She was immature, reckless and out of control in an annoying way. The end of the story left me with a lot more questions than answers, but I'll still recommend checking it out for yourself. *ARC received from Random House Publishing Group in return for an honest review* The book blurb provides a good outline of this story. Cassidy might have grown up in the MC life but she despises it and only wants to keep her younger brother safe from it. However, he's not cooperating and fully intends to become a member of the club. Thorn is a cop, undercover in the Brothers of Mayhem MC, and when tough girl Cassidy puts herself at risk, Thorn steps in and claims her to save her. She swore she would never get involved with another biker but he sets her on fire and she knows he has a good heart. Thorn realizes he could be risking his investigation but he's finding it hard to keep his hands off of Cassidy and protecting her is becoming a priority. Cassidy and Thorn have a lot of chemistry and are very likable. The writing is great, the story is sexy, hot, and dangerous. Hidden Heat is a great read and I didn't want to put it down.

3.5 Stars I love MC romances, so when I saw the cover the cover and read the synopsis for Hidden Heat, I couldn't resist checking it out. Cassidy Ryder hates the Brother's of Mayhem MC Club and wants nothing to do with them, especially for her younger brother, and she isn't afraid to go head-to-head with them to save him, even when it isn't the smartest or the safest thing to do. She's the daughter of the clubs former president, and hates everything the club stands for. Now that her brother is about to turn 18, she hates them even more, because he's infatuated with them. Needless to say, this more than perturbs her when she finds her self irresistibly attracted to the clubs bartender, Thorn Savalas. Thorn is more than hot. He represents everything she's trying to steer clear of, yet like a magnet, she's drawn to him. The more she gets to know him, she see's how he's different than the others, and bit by bit, her resolve weakens. Thorn Savalas is hot, tattooed, tough as nails, and he's an undercover cop. Not quite sure how to handle things when he finds himself in the middle of one of Cassidy's tirades regarding her brother, he knows he has to protect her from the brothers, even at the risk of blowing his cover. What he didn't expect was how hard he's falling for her. Things get dangerous as his investigation begins to come to a head, testing Thorn's resolve as he tries to do his job and keep Cassidy safe at the same time, but no matter how hard he tries to keep her safe physically, he can't protect her heart, nor his own for that matter, which proves to been an even harder task than the job he's undertaken. Filled with passion, suspense, danger, and all that you'd expect from a hot MC romance, Hidden Heat is a great beginning to what looks to be quite an enticing series. A lot happens at the end all at once, and while I was glad to see what finally transpired between Cassidy and Thorn, I was a little sad at the level of corruption in the club, while holding onto hope that there is some good to be found there eventually. The author sets the stage for the next book, and I will be looking forward to reading that, still hopeful that we ill see some good in the club, rather than just total corruption. That of course, is just my opinion, having come to love Joanna Wylde's and Kristen Ashley's MC club novels and the tight-knit groups that they both portray and make you fall for, despite and because of who they are and what the represent. I'll look forward to seeing where Carla Swafford takes this series as it progresses.

Cassidy Ryder refuses to be intimidated by anyone, even the hell-raising, hard-drinking Brothers of Mayhem. The daughter of their former president, she's not above smashing a few heads to keep her teenage brother safe. But when Cassidy's big mouth gets her in trouble, the only thing that saves her is some quick thinking from the Brothers' bartender. He's commanding and strong, and as smooth as the whiskey he pours: the ultimate temptation for a girl who swore she'd never be a biker's plaything. But Thorn Savalas is no ordinary biker. He's a cop, and he's worked too hard earning the Brothers' trust to blow his cover over a female—even one who rocks a pair of jeans like Cassidy. The only way to protect her is by claiming she's his old lady. Trouble is, Thorn can't just pretend. He wants Cassidy, and every scorching touch tells him she feels the same. But acting on their hottest fantasies could leave them both exposed . . . even if nothing else has ever felt so real. Review: Let's start off with this, Cassidy is a little wonky or hard-core crazy, because the first scene is her walking into a biker bar and smashing up the place with a baseball bat. Cassidy was fun because you never knew what crazy, endangering thing she was going to do next. Thorn is a sexy, alpha-male, undercover cop, biker...need you say more? I liked both of them, they were interesting and kept me going in the story. The story started off very strong and fast-paced, it got a little bogged down in the biker, rival gang and black marketing. The story is super sexy and Cassidy and Thorn tear-up the sheets and whatever surface they can find. The only other thing I kind of had a problem with was the ending was kind of rushed. Then Thorn leaves Cassidy behind for something like 10 or 11 months and she just welcomes him with open arms? She has more backbone and is crazier than that, I expected at least a good verbal tirade. Overall, a good start to this new series. I am not sure who or what the next book is about, but I look forward to it. 3.5Stars *Received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Hidden Heat (Brothers of Mayhem #1) by Carla Swafford http://wp.me/p3d0RZ-46r Publication Date: February 16, 2016 Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Cori Rated 3.5 Stars REVIEW: Hidden Heat is a fun cop/ biker romance. Yep cop/ biker and I love both so it was a fun read. Thorn has the bad boy biker thing going on but he's a undercover cop. The story focuses on Thorn and Cassidy. There isn't a lot of focus on club brotherhood like most biker romances I pick up. The heat between Thron and Cassidy was scorching hot. Their story flowed quickly and I read it from start to finish one afternoon. I'd recommend this book for romance lovers who want a little bit of bad boy in their hero. Hidden Heat was a fun, sexy romance and I'm looking forward to picking up the next book in the series when it comes out. *Review copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Good read *3.5 star*A great MC story with a strong female lead character and a swoon worthy lead male. Cassidy was raised around the Brothers of Mayhem. Her father was their ex president so she knows full well what the life is like and she's determined to keep her brother out of it. She's always been protected because of who her father was but things are changing and her latest bout of temper against the Brothers has her in deep water. That is until the club bartender Thorn Savalas comes to her rescue. Turns out Thorn isn't quite what he seems to be! The overall book was good but there were parts that I felt a bit lost in. Not sure I understand all the club stuff even now. The ending seemed a bit rushed and had a lot of info thrown in. Still not a bad book and one I would recommend.
