'Highlander Unchained & Forbidden Highlander' by Donna Fletcher is the story of Cree & Dawn. There are actually two books in this set. They were originally released around 2012 separately. Highlander Unchained was book one and Forbidden Highlander was book two in the ""Highlander Trilogy". Both books deal with Cree and Dawn's story. Book three "Highlander's Captive" which is a separate book deals with Cree's sister and Dawn's brother. I am such a big Fan of Ms. Fletcher's writing and these two books just confirmed my reason for making her a favorite author. I could not put these books down...I had so much to do but dropped it all to finish reading Cree and Dawn's story. If Ms. Fletcher had a million books and I had a million dollars I would not have a million dollars for long...nor would I have any time for anything other than reading. Cree was the strong warrior type that described himself as not having a heart. Cree had a goal in mind of taking over land and become a titled lord. Nothing in his plans were for a strong, loyal women who had such a big heart...nor a women who put others before herself. Dawn did have disability that kept her from speaking but nothing slowed her down. Cree had tried to fight his attraction and growing feelings for Dawn but he was loosing that battle. The King had arranged a marriage for him to a nobleman's daughter to help secure his land and title he wanted. So Cree could not make Dawn his wife and never really offered that option to her. Dawn was a hardworking women that help her friends and even a few of the people that did her wrong. Dawn understood her place with Cree and knew that he would never love her but that didn't stop her from opening up to him...which made it hard for Cree not to love her. This book had so many emotions for me...sometimes I hated Cree but other times I just couldn't help but love him for a main character. He only wanted to keep Dawn safe even though she wouldn't listen to him and kept getting herself into trouble. He such a Alpha male that he didn't want her touch another man for any reason. Dawn was only for him! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Highlander Forbidden & Highlander Unchained by Donna Fletcher Dawn & Cree Series Books One & Two Highlander Forbidden: Book One Dawn was born without a voice. She is completely silent...even her sighs. Fear reigns as the nefarious Cree is captured and Dawn is assigned to care for him...in all ways. Little did they know that Cree would get more information from Dawn's silence than expected. After all, the people treated her as if she were an idiot. In turn, they were proven the idiots. Highlander Unchained: Book Two This book continues where book one left off. Someone is trying to kill Dawn and no one has a clue why. She is only a voiceless peasant...isn't she? Secrets are old and deep and as they come to the surface—they bring unrest with them. Old Mary knows more than she will tell and so they have to dig deep themselves to find the answers. Great characters and plot line. I really enjoyed both of these books and look forward to reading the rest of the series. **Strong sexual content

With no family and few friends who love her she is scorned and ridiculed by the villagers labelled -the dumb one- her affliction has been a blessing for her as well for the village lord Colum will not have anyone coupling with her just in case she births silent children. Colum has captured the mighty warrior Cree the fiercest warrior of the Highlands! He's paraded through the village as a show of strength, he's holding him prisoner to get information then execute him. Colum finally has a use for Dawn and that is to extract information from Cree by coupling with him. Dawn saw the warrior paraded in shackles and felt attracted to him when their eyes met. Dawn has no choice but follow Colum's edict. But the man that everyone fears is not the devil they say he is. What of the secret that surrounds Dawns past and the threats to her life? Can the Laird Kirk McClusky be Dawns father? So many threats and secrets to be revealed. The only thing that Cree wants is Dawn as his wife especially now that she's pregnant with his child. What a sensational story. Well written characters with a wicked plot that engages the reader from the beginning of the story. Fast paced and intriguing a strong hero and an even stronger heroine who although can't speak makes herself heard. This is a love story like no other, an epic tale of romance a love with no boundaries. Donna Fletcher never disappoints a master storyteller. I received a complimentary copy from the author for my honest opinion

One of my favorite books is the story of Dawn & Cree. Donna Fletcher makes you fall in love with both of these characters. Each store leaves you waiting for the next part of their love story. Dawn has no voice. While she cannot make a sound, she is perfectly capable of communicating though for those who take the time to listen. When she is given the task to take care of the prisoner Cree she cannot deny that she fears him. But she has been sent to take care of all his needs and bring back information, no matter the cost. Cree is biding his time till he will begin his attack on Dowell, after all it is his land now. Per the King's order. What Cree never expected was Dawn. Silent but strong, he cannot understand why he is so drawn to her. But as they get closer during his captivity, he finds that Dawn is his and he will protect her till his dying breath. After Cree takes control of the village, suddenly Dawn finds herself Cree's woman. But while she is falling fast, she does not know if Cree will ever love her back. As danger keeps finding Dawn, Cree is forced to admit that he cannot see a life without her in it. But he has made commitments to another. Will he be able to convince Dawn to stay with him even if he is to marry another? Absolutely wonderful story. Heartfelt and full of love you cannot help but fall in love with Dawn and Cree.
