If you like a book with humor, drama , action, suspense, great sex and a hea, you'll love this book as much as I did. It is a stand-a-lone but it helps to read the series from the beginning. Knowing the side characters better adds depth to the story. cjbevil

3.5 Stars I really liked this story.  Ember and Gabe work- crazy banter, intense passion and some good old fashioned love.  Throw in a whole lot of drama- baby mamas, gangs, Ember’s jealousy, the antics of all of the Free brothers and Cheyenne and Ember’s friendship- and you have a very exciting and hilarious read. I also liked the dual POV.  Being in Gabe’s mind helped to make sense of when he turned broody.  Which was hot, don’t get me wrong.  His alpha attitude and desire to protect what was his-yum.  He was so lonely for so long, with Ember he finds a happiness that he was sure he would never have. Ember is just Ember.  Funny, full of heart and so in love with Gabriel.  When she believes she has lost him- oh my I couldn’t stop the tears. Ember and Cheyenne are just too much.  Their life long friendship and complete lack of boundaries add so much fun to this story. The family that the characters in this book have created help all of them find peace. Made families are sometimes the best.  I am interested to see where the author goes with this world she has created, I’m looking forward to the ride.

I absolutely loved this book. In fact if you haven’t read book 1 (Boomtown) you should totally read that one because it is just as fantastic. I was so glued to this book that I almost missed appointments and other small things like food and sleep. Plenty of steamy scenes, lots of humor, and all rolled into a wonderful romance and an action packed suspense. Gabe and Ember are two fantastic people that I absolutely loved reading about. Gabe is ex Army Ranger, rides a motorcycle, is fiercely protective, loyal, and oh yeah…sexy hell. Ember is wild at times and isn’t afraid to put it to you straight but she also knows when to shut up and listen. I can’t tell you how many times I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at some antic she pulled (usually with her best friend Cheyenne). Even though Ember and Gabe often butt heads they also support each other when it matters and they have a serious connection between them. I really enjoyed their personalities. In fact all of their group are really fun. They story flowed really well. In fact it flowed so well I couldn’t find a good place to stop. I just kept reading, desperate to find out what was going to happen next. Even though this was a suspense book, it was dark and I enjoyed the lightness the humor from the character brought to the story. I highly recommend this book and in fact the whole series. I’m dying to read the rest of the guys’ stories and can’t wait for book 3 (Max’s story). This was a fantastic story and I give it an outstanding 5 out of 5 stars!
