His Highness The Duke is the fifth book in The Dragon Lords series by Michelle M. Pillow. It tells us the story of High Duke of Draig, Lord Bron and Aeron Grey, civilian analyst for the federation. Aeron intercepts a communication about the impeding genocide of the Qurilixian people. Unable to get anyone to do anything about the information she decides to get help from her sister and signs up to be a bride in hopes of saving lives. Bron is on his 7th attempt at a marriage ceremony and does not believe that he will ever find his bride. Due to not paying attention he almost doesn't. I enjoyed this book. I love the humor, the intrigue and the romance. I liked how different the Duke is from the Princes. It's funny how the Duke almost screws up his chances of a bride. Aeron is feisty, brave, strong and stubborn. The book is very well written and a must read for all paranormal readers. I highly recommend this series. It's a really good read. Dragon Lords Series (in reading order)...... 1. Barbarian Prince 2. Perfect Prince 3. Dark Prince 4. Warrior Prince 5. His Highness the Duke 6. The Stubborn Lord 7. The Reluctant Lord 8. The Impatient Lord 9. The Dragon's Queen Received ARC copy L.

More of my favorite Dragon Lords! Aeron is a communications analyst for the Federation Military and has discovered a plot to destroy Quirilixian people, she must warn them before their planet is destroyed. What Aeron hadn't counted on was her sister signing them on as prospective brides in order to get there. Worse yet, she had not expected to be chosen as one and much less to have these lustful feelings towards the barbarian hunk. Bron was just going through the motions, after all he'd been to these every year for the past 7 years and his crystal had always been just as dull. Things would be no different this year, so why bother to even take a peek at the brides? Only problem is the crystal does start to glow and he has no idea who she is! Another great story in the great Dragon Lord Series. Looking forward to the next one.. I was gifted this book for an honest review.

I was really glad to go back to this world but also see how the males were that didn't find partners right away. The interactions between the characters were intriguing and was interesting seeing more of the world.

Aeron is a civilian analyst for the Federation. She intercepts a communications transmission about a possible genocide attack of the planet of Qurilixen. When the Federation does nothing about it because Qurilixen is not part of the Federation, Aeron decides she has to do something. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of Qurilixen don't allow many ships to land on their planet. She steals a ship and head to place her sister, Riona, is to ask for help in getting the info to the inhabitants. Aeron interrupts Riona just as the dice is thrown in a game causing Riona to lose the game. Riona's solution to getting to Qurilixen is by signing up with Galaxy Brides to be part of the Draig Breeding Festival. Lord Bronislaw, the High Duke of Draig, is not looking forward to the Breeding Festival. It's his seventh year of attending but it's his duty to attend since his royal cousins are attending for the first time. Bron just knows he is not going to find his bride again and doesn't pay attention to the brides as they walk past. He is shocked when his crystal lights up and he realizes he missed her. After the other grooms collect their brides, he walks past all the other brides to figure out which one is his. He finally stops in from on Aeron. It takes convincing to get her to go with him. Things don't go as planned once they reach the tent. She is obsessed with getting to the King to tell him of the planned attack and tells Bron over and over that is the only reason she is there. Bron tricks her into taking off his mask and that's when things really get out of hand. They end up consummating their marriage when it is forbidden. Bron leaves her in the tent by herself all night to atone for his sins.  The following morning he must present her in front of the council as his wife. She becomes obsessed with the crystal when he gives it to her to break. The King and Queen are very upset about the way Aeron reacts to the crystal. Bron has to take it away from her, pick her up then drop her on the crystal to get it to break. Once broken, Aeron remembers why she is there and tries to tell the King while denying she is married. When Aeron doesn't shut up about it, the King drugs her and orders Bron to take her to the hunting cabin so he has time to get his marriage in order.  Aeron awakens during the trip to the cabin. She is adamant that she is not married to Bron. While there, Bron disappears. She starts heading down the mountain and runs into his brother, Alek, and his new wife, Kendall. After Alek finds Bron in an ancient dungeon, Bron takes Aeron back to the castle so he can talk with the King about the possible attack. King Llyr tells him to look into it and take his bride home. They reach Bron's home and find that his brother, Mirek, has married Riona who is in a coma.  How will Bron get Aeron to accept their marriage? You will need to read this to find out.  I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were very interesting and full of life. It's a wonderful book about a person who cares enough about others and is willing to do whatever needed to prevent another tragedy. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

His Highness The Duke is the Fifth book in the Dragon Lords Series by Michelle Pillow. I loved the first four books in the series as well as the other related book series. After reading the stories about the four princes it was interesting to get to know their royal, cousins, headed by the First born, the Duke Bron. Bron is a serious Draig, he now heads the house of the Kings' brother who is no longer alive. Bron is like a son to the King and takes his responsibilities to his family and royal position with devotion and honor. Disappointed by six years of not finding a bride at the Breeding Festival, Bron is too lost in his thoughts at this seventh one to realize his mate has finally walked right past him. As ecstatic as he is to see his crystal glowing, he must now figure out which one she is. Once Bron finds Aeron he is immediately drawn to her. Aeron insists that she is only there to warn the King of a serious threat by a group trying to take over their planet., and the only way she had to get to him was to take part in the festival. She quite taken back by the fact that she has actually been chosen by the gorgeous way to perfect male. All goes a little too well on their first night together, and the couple end up violating one of the most important rules of the mating ceremony. Now Bron must find a way to make up for their breech. Aeron has to figure out a way to warn the King and figure out her relationship to the handsome, domineering, frustrating, hot alpha warrior who has claimed her and whom she can't seem to control her attraction for. Aeron works for the Federation and has intercepted serious information about aliens planning to hostilly take over a planet for their precious ore. After seeing her own planet destroyed before her eyes and losing all she held dear, Aeron is determined to not let this happen to another innocent civilization. There was a lot of delicious chemistry between Bron and Aeron and I liked that she was not a whiny heroine and did not try to fight or deny her attraction to him. This group of royal cousins seem to have very old fashioned male dominance ideas that are about to be tested by some very independent females. The world of The Draig that the author has developed through several books now continues to take shape and expand, as well as new overall plot developments that will unfold throughout the next several books. Both Bron and Aeron are enjoyable characters, they have a great storyline that is new and refreshing to the series while still keeping us captivated in this world of the Draig. I definitely recommend reading the series in order, there are many interwoven facts and side stories that develop from book to book that should not be missed. Althoug I was a bit disappointed that the book was a bit shorter than the others, it was still an awesome, page turning read I enjoyed getting lost in for a few hours. An exciting story with some suspense, excitement, romance with some very hot smexy scenes, and the introduction to four more royal Draig brothers you'll definitely want to get to know.

This book is different from the other books in this same series. Whereas the other books focused on a central story, this one goes in a different direction. It starts out at the same claiming ceremony, but that is where the stories go their separate ways. I liked this story. Like book #4, though, I felt the ending was just cut off. The book was still enjoyable, but I would have preferred a prettier bow to finish everything off.

I enjoyed this one a lot. I have read the first series of the Draig Princes and their Princesses. I wondered how virile guys like these could maintain the custom on their wedding night. Love that Bron as moral and strong as he is is also human (okay Draig) No spoiler in case this is your first book. Aeron was sheltered by her own choice. In her position as communications expert she reports information that the Federation ignores. But she can not stand by and watch a catastrophe happen. So she leaves the comfort of her self made prison to warn Bron's people. Thanks to her unconventional sister's help, she gets more than she bargained for--a husband! Yes, the transportation her sister provided was a Space Order Bride ship. No problem, she'd just not get married. But 7 times Bron has gone through the Breeding Ceremony without finding a wife. This time the gods bless him with Aeron and he's not letting go. Their dance is fun and hot. Each keeps a major secret and has problems adjusting to the culture and feelings of their mate. Powerful loyalty to his people and their sense of obligation keeps them together, but the road is not smooth. While this story does end more quickly, we know it is a series--running on a concurrent time line so more of the story will be told by the other royal cousins. I for one am intrigued about the other wives especially a certain sister. I can't wait to read the next one.
