About the Author

Jeston Texeira is a former student of Texas A&M University and a volunteer at the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, TX. His biggest literary accomplishment so far is winning an area-wide writing competition when he was in 4th grade. Other accomplishments include getting a job right out of college and at one point being the youngest candidate in Texas to run for state representative at the age of 22. Born in Hawaii and raised in Texas, Jeston grew up admiring Steve Irwin and Bear Grylls for their love of wildlife and sense of adventure. His passion for educating children and helping animals is what led to him devoting his free time to volunteering at the zoo where he gets to do both! He hopes to one day work at the Australia Zoo with Steve Irwin's family. His other heroes include Ernest Hemingway, Chris Kyle, and Donald Trump. Jeston lives in College Station, TX with his leopard gecko, Firben.
