I felt bad for both Jace and Ava, although I wanted to give Jace a little kick in the pants for waiting so long to come back.  Having his POV helped a lot because I don’t know that I would have been as quick to forgive him otherwise :)  Leaving Ava like he did, and staying away for so long, was a really crappy thing to do.  I know that he was young and I understand how his childhood turned him into that person, but 6 years is a long time and if he really felt the way he claimed he’d have manned up a bit earlier.  I get that he didn’t think that she’d have anything to do with him but he should have at least tried harder.  Good for him Ava’s a bit more tender hearted (or tender headed) than I am.  She does struggle a bit (as she should) but those old feelings that never really went away make it hard to fight him.  He will have to prove himself, and she’ll have to figure out how to let the past go, but they may just be able to work it out with a little luck and a whole lot of love.  With Hold Her Again Stacey delivers a wonderful second-chance romance, perfectly bringing the feeling of the holiday season.  *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. I loved this small town second-chances Christmas romance! All of my favorite tropes rolled into one beautiful, heartfelt read! Shannon Stacey pens an amazing story full of heartbreak, remorse, healing… and hope. I was quickly drawn into the story and was easily able to empathize with both Ava and Jace. Normally, I’d dislike a hero that selfishly leaves behind the woman he loves in order to chase his own glory, but I found myself quietly rooting for Jace. It still doesn’t excuse what he did, but I found myself falling hard for this sheepish, yet deeply sincere country boy. It’s beautifully written, the characters are lovingly crafted and it was an absolute joy to read. HOLD HER AGAIN is the perfect holiday read! ***I voluntarily read a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own***

A well crafted, deeply emotional, second chance story of high school sweethearts who once wanted to reach the stars together but life and need for success draw them apart. Ever read one of those stories that pulverize your heart to dust with the angst, anger, and despair? Yes, Hold Her Again has those deep, dark emotions of pain, desertion, and guilt, having been left behind to seek fame and money. I enjoyed both of the lead characters. Ava Wright was a strong woman, she was comfortable with her life, she was not ashamed of her feelings. She was open about the pain and sorrow she had gone through when Jace Morrow left her behind, and she had no desire to go through that dark valley again. Jace Morrow had it all, fame, successful career, all the possibilities he could dream of, and the money to make them into a reality. The only mistake he made, was leaving Ava behind to seek the stardom. He missed her daily, made hit songs about the yearning towards her, yet it took six years, and his father death, to seek a contact with her again. The small town is charming, the preparations for the holidays engaging, it was easy to immerse myself into the story and let the multitude of feelings overtake my mind and heart, from the regrets to joy and jubilee, all the feels were there, tangible and real. With the shorter length of the story, I felt that the repentance and the awakening of the adoration and admiration anew was a little short lived. Yet with the epilogue, the author brought all the doubts and questions into a lovely, complete, and satisfying ending. A sweet, and captivating story about forgiveness, forever kind of love between soulmates, about small-town Christmas jubilation, and finding your place, your purpose, and aiming for your goals and dreams. ~ Four Spoons

Jace broke Ava's heart when he left her for his music career. He's now a superstar, so the decision paid off financially. Emotionally, however, Jace doesn't think he did the right thing. Ava is still the woman he loves. When his father dies Jace travels back to his hometown for the first time after many years, hoping he'll see her again. Will Ava be willing to give him a second chance? Ava has never felt complete again after Jace left her to become a famous country singer. When she hears he's back in town she doesn't know if she's ready to see him. The old wounds have never completely healed and she hasn't forgiven him for leaving her behind. Jace hopes Ava will be willing to forgive him. What's stronger, the pain of the past or the love in their hearts? Hold Her Again is a great romantic story. Ava and Jace were high school sweethearts. They knew that what they had was the real deal, but Jace wanted to prove himself and chose his career over Ava. My heart ached when I read about the impact of his decision on both of them. It's clear from the start that there's much love between them and I couldn't wait to find out if that would be enough to bring them back together or if their old wounds would forever keep them apart. Shannon Stacey's writing has a nice easy flow. Hold Her Again is a sweet novella about music, following your heart and dreams for the future. Jace is a celebrity with plenty of money and status, but he's also just a regular guy, trying to win back the girl he still loves. I liked that combination a lot. Hold Her Again starts with sadness, then brings hope and ends with a smile. It's a lovely feelgood story.

When Jace and Ava left their little town to make it in the music industry, neither one of them knew that it would only be Jace that would be offered the opportunity for the big time. He decides he wants it, and leaves the love of his life behind as he heads for Nashville and skyrockets to success. Ava returns home to her little town, her heart broken. She doesn't hear from Jace except for the hit song he wrote for her that stirs up all sorts of memories she doesn't want to hear about or face. I don't blame her. But when Jace returns home to lay his father to rest, there's no way Ava will be able to avoid Jace. Hold Her Again answers the story of whether Ava can forgive Jace for what he did, and whether Jace can have it all, including Ava when he returns to Nashville. There's still love between these two and they have to work through their past hurts to see if the love between them can thrive again. This was the perfect Sunday afternoon read for me. It's Shannon Stacey, so the writing is definitely good as are the portrayal of all the different emotions that Ava and Jace must face with his return to town. It wasn't easy for Ava to forgot how Jace devastated her, but there is still a spark between them, and that kept me reading until the very last page. Hold Her Again is a very sweet second chance novella that is just perfect for when you are looking for something a bit shorter than a full-length novel, but it still packs all the emotions between the pages. An ARC was provided for review.

Shannon Stacey always seems to come up with the most wonderful and emotional holiday stories and she doesn't disappoint with this one. I adored this book. My only real complaint is that it's too short. I wanted more! In this fantastic second chance story Jace Morrow returns to make things right with the one woman he can't get over. Five years ago he knows he broke Ava's heart but he thought it was the right thing to do. Now he knows what a mistake it was and will do anything for a second chance. Great read that's perfect for the season. I definitely recommend it.

The danger of falling for a Shannon Stacey novel is that the love affair ends far too soon. I guess that proves to be both a good and bad trait. Good in the sense that I can finish in one sitting. Bad in the sense it's hard to come to the end. Hold Her Again is romance at it's sweetest and attraction at it's most hot. Jace and Ava are a volcano of emotions. From bittersweet longing to a towering inferno of heat, the outpouring of heart and the chance to begin again is as tempting as the season itself. Let the seduction begin.
