Would you rather know a truth that makes you feel hopeless, or keep believing the lies?

Beloved and bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with the spellbinding story of two young people with devastating pasts who embark on a passionate, intriguing journey to discover the lessons of life, love, trust—and above all, the healing power that only truth can bring.

Sky, a senior in high school, meets Dean Holder, a guy with a promiscuous reputation that rivals her own. From their very first encounter, he terrifies and captivates her. Something about him sparks memories of her deeply troubled past, a time she’s tried so hard to bury. Though Sky is determined to stay far away from him, his unwavering pursuit and enigmatic smile break down her defenses and the intensity of the bond between them grows. But the mysterious Holder has been keeping secrets of his own, and once they are revealed, Sky is changed forever and her ability to trust may be a casualty of the truth.

Only by courageously facing the stark revelations can Sky and Holder hope to heal their emotional scars and find a way to live and love without boundaries. Hopeless is a novel that will leave you breathless, entranced, and remembering your own first love.

Holy hell, this is an AMAZING book. As an avid reader, almost obsessively so, I find myself bored by a lot of the books I read. They just don't provoke any emotions from the reader. Not this book though. Yes, it is heavy and intense and heartbreaking, but it is also a story about strength, love, faith and Hope. There are so many words of wisdom throughout this book that can be applied to everyone, not just those who have struggled with horrific events and tragedy. I loved Slammed and Point of Retreat, so I had a feeling that I would not be disappointed by Hoover's newest book. This book ranks among the top 10 books I have read this year and according to Goodreads, I have read and rated 312 books since August. (Like I said, I love to read!) Do NOT pass the opportunity to read Hopeless. This is the very first book I have ever written a review on, but I felt it almost a responsibility to inform all readers out there what an absolute must read this book is. From the writing style, the grammar, the plot, the length of the book; 264 pages, but not a quick read, everything about Hopeless is truly incredible.

Wow. Just wow. I read this book in one sitting. I hesitated to put it down even for a bathroom break. There are no words to express the perfection of this reading experience. I am not a young adult. I have been an avid reader for 33 years, so you can trust me when I say... Just buy it. You won't regret it.

This is a must read. It is so well written you have a hard time coming back to reality. You feel like you are connected with the characters. This provokes very intense emotions. If i had to describe this book in one word it would be real!

Where to even begin but with just one word... BEAUTIFUL Hopeless was beyond anything I expected. I heard this book was fantastic based on all the reviews I read but I didn't expect it to take a hold of me like it has and have me begging for more. Colleen Hoover you have once again blown me away. I will have to admit that I really dislike reviews that spill away the whole book, so I will leave you all with just a few points. 1.)Do not borrow this book! You need to buy it and plan on reading it over and over and over and over and over........This book needs to be honored in your collection because it is brilliant! 2.)Be prepared for an emotional ride so DO NOT FORGET your box of tissues! 3.) Cut off the world around you and fully submerge yourself into this book because trust me...Well just trust me and lock yourself in a room, turn off the cell, unplug the house phone, put your kids to bed, send your husband/boyfriend/partner ANYONE out for a night of fun because you need to cut yourself off from everything!!!!!!! 4.)Most importantly take the time to really understand what this book is all about. Take the time to rip parts of this book out and take them along with you for always. So many life insights that make me look at the world (and the sky) differently! So beautiful! Oh, and one more thing. :-) Colleen Hoover I would love you even more than I already do if you surprised us with a book 2!!!!! So much is in the future for these two and I would love to have more time with Six and Breckin! Love them!

Main character relives memories of rape/incest. If you have trouble with this subject manner you should skip this one.

At the beginning I was a little confused because you [the reader] because you are just kind of thrown into the world of Sky but oh, oh...once you started reading I can guarantee you'll be hooked. This book, just like Slammed and Point of Retreat, made me laugh out loud and cry onto my e-reader. The story line is very intense and will break your heart but then give you hope that people, even in the worst of situations, can survive and become stronger. This is definitely a must-read!

The story handles some very heavy topics that once they are revealled make everthing make sense. I just cannot decide if I liked this book or not. There is a solid attempt at character development. The writing is good. But I found myself finishing the book more out of a complusion to leave things unfinished than needed to know what happened. It was almost predicitable. I think the author did a good job of handling the heavy issues in this story but I cannot help but feel that something is lacking.

I was skeptical about purchasing this book at first but i immediatly fell in love. I stayed up until 5 in the morning to finish the book because I couldnt put it down. I found myself experiencing everything the characters did and feeling every emotion they did. This book wasnt filled with fairytale fluff. It was raw and real. Its relatiable and realistic. Reading this book you will find yourself laughing and crying along with sky and the other characters. There is an amazing love story and an unexpected twist. like a slap in the face. Trust me when i say you wont see it coming. This book is unique in every way and lacks unrealistic cliches.Sky's story will stick with me forever. I highley recommend this book. I never write reviews so obviously it had to be pretty dam good. This book is so beautifully written and amazing. Props to colleen.

This book was okay but the hero of the story was a little unbelievable. His emotional intelligence was off the charts and he's supposed to be an eighteen year old boy. Other than that, it was a nice, quick read. There were a couple of twists that surprised me.

This was a surprisingly amazing book. I almost put it down after the first chapter because I didn't understand what was going on, but it all becomes clear later on. Brilliant writing with breathtakingly real characters.

This isn't the type of book I usually read and I've NEVER left a  review before, however, I had to share my absolute love for this book. While some of what happens  is easy to figure out,  other  parts of the book  had me completely shocked. I laughed, cried, got angry, and  literally  sobbed at one point. This author has the rare ability to make me feel things and completely understand the characters emotions! This is the type of book that I will  think about for days and never forget!!!

Sometimes people's reviews make me question if they ever read a really good book before. This book lives up to the reviews.. I read the book in one day, I couldn't put it down.. This book will go on my top favorite list..(and I have read 100's of books) Congratulations to Colleen Hover for note being like every other author, and writing a wonderful novel.

I just want to take the time out to say that I NEVER do book reviews. I've read many books of different genre's throughout my life but none of them have ever touched me as much as this one. This riveting book is not only a story about the amazing connection of two people but it's also a book about life, hope, and dreams. This book has the capability to change your life. The writing was so pure and emotional that I felt every single emotion that the characters felt. Good and bad. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, and I shivered. Not many books have the ability to reach into your soul and touch your heart like this one has for me. Words cannot describe how fantastic of a book this is. My advice is to quit reading these reviews and start reading this book. You will be everything but disappointed.

A bit over the top. These teenagers were more eloquent in speech and thought than the most mature people I have encountered. The blindness of the main character, who had the same clues I had, got annoying at times. Some of the side characters were pointless or nearly. But it was a nice little sophistacated soap opera romance. I would recommend Slammed over Hopeless though.

To mushy for my taste. Maybe i am jaded but no man acts like this guy. The big mysteries where predictable after the first one was revailed. I liked slammed by this author. Point of retreat was ok. This book was just ok.

This book will give anyone 'hope' that this world consists of true, passionate, selfless love and friendship.

I found it to be a page turner but it took so long to move past the annoying teenager flirting, i almost gave up on it

WOW! I agree with the previous reviews, this is an AMAZING book! Fantastic story line that grabs you and won't let go. So much love between the two characters that you fall in love as well, so much passion and such a roller coaster. The author really makes you feel like you are a part of the story and you don't want it to end but you want to know the conclusion at the same time. READ THIS! You won't regret it!
