Overview

When a daredevil football stud tries to get into your yoga pants, you know class is about to get interesting. The New York Times bestselling author of Down & Dirty returns with Hot & Heavy.

Sage: Although I come from a long line of free-spirited yoga teachers, sometimes I wish my life could be just a little more normal. More ordinary. More boring. Easier said than done, especially since it’s on me to keep my family’s studio up and running every time my mother wanders off to find herself. But that’s when my best friend sends me a sexy new student: Shawn Wilson, a slick wide receiver with a death wish and a chip on his broad, muscular, irresistible . . . wait, what were we talking about again?

Shawn: They say I’m an adrenaline junkie. The truth is, I only really feel alive when I’m risking my life: Snowboarding, parachuting, BASE jumping . . . the kind of fun team management considers breach of contract. When my coach orders me to take yoga to “center myself,” I’m pissed—until I get an eyeful of delectable, flexible Sage Kaufmann. Unfortunately, she’s determined to keep things between us strictly business. But if Sage can get me to enjoy downward dog, maybe I can convince her that scorching hot sex could be the perfect shot of adrenaline.

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Wolff wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—in second grade, around the same time she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. A one-time English professor with over fifty novels to her name, she now devotes most of her time to writing romance and dreaming up heroes. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her family.

Chapter 1
Sage

I’m bored. Like, really bored. I’ve spent most of the night at this ridiculous bachelorette party with people I barely know, and I’m so ready for it to be over. Normally, I have a strict only go to the parties of people I care about rule, but what was I supposed to do when Skye invited me to this thing? Say no?

Not super impressive considering we work together. Even less impressive considering, while my mom is off trying to reaffirm who she is by practicing spiritual meditation in India, I’m the boss. And the boss can’t blow off an employee invitation, no matter how much he or she wants to. Not when the business is as small and close-knit as ours is.

Which is why I’m sitting here in the middle of this ridiculously upscale bar watching women in penis hats swill drinks and talk dirty about whatever man happens to pass by the table . . . It’s my own personal version of hell, and I’m pretty sure I’m doing a lousy job disguising that fact.

Then again, I’m not sure it matters considering I’m the only sober one at the table right now—which is obvious by both my lack of penis hat and my ability to keep my mouth shut no matter who walks by. Being the boss means I had to come to this little shindig. But there’s no boss or girl code in the world that says I have to wear a dick on my head or drink out of a straw shaped like one. And even if there was . . . well, that’s one code I’d have no trouble breaking.

“You need another drink,” Autumn—one of the other instructors at my mom’s yoga studio—tells me with a giggle.

“Come on. Let’s go to the bar.”

I don’t want to go to the bar. And I sure as hell don’t want another drink. Even though Skye has a limo booked tonight, which means that even though I drove myself here I don’t have to drive myself home, I still have a two-drink limit when I’m at a bar. Any bar. If I’ve learned anything through the years, it’s that everything’s easier when you’re stone-cold sober—which is why it’s been an hour since I’ve had anything to drink but water.

Still, I follow her. It’s not that hard of a choice, considering the rest of our party has just started singing dick songs. Because why not? It’s not enough to drink out of a dick and eat dick cake and whistle at every dick that walks by while wearing a giant dick on their heads. They need to sing an homage to the damn things, too.

Maybe it’s time to say to hell with the limo and get out of here instead . . . except Autumn’s grabbed on to my arm and a lifetime of yoga has rendered her a lot stronger than she looks. With a sigh, I acknowledge that I’m not going anywhere until she releases me.

We’re halfway to the bar when I see him. I’m so annoyed that I almost don’t pay attention, but—let’s be honest—I’d have to be dead not to notice this guy. Notice him, hell, just knowing he’s in the room is suddenly taking up all the oxygen.

Or maybe it’s just that I’ve forgotten how to breathe.

But can you blame me? With a fallen angel face, eyes that glitter like black diamonds, and a stubble-covered jaw that’s sharp enough I can feel the cut from here, he’s the hottest thing in this place. Maybe the hottest thing anywhere. Tall, dark and drop-dead freaking gorgeous. And that’s before you take into account the shoulders wider than my zip code and the biceps to die for.

Is it wrong that I want to lick him? I wonder as I shift to get a better look. Because I do. I really, really do. Those narrow hips. That silky-looking, too long hair. Those big hands that wrap all the way around his glass and then some. No wonder it feels like all the oxygen has been sucked out of this place. He’s like a personal playground designed especially for me.

And that’s before he glances up, his eyes meeting mine across the dimly lit bar.

Normally, I’d look away. I’m not the type to eye-flirt a stranger in a bar. Or anywhere else, for that matter. But the moment our gazes lock, I forget about normal. Forget about usual. And instead try to keep my panties from dropping straight to the floor.

It’s harder than it should be, especially considering I’m wearing pants.

I press my legs together, just to be on the safe side. And that’s when he smiles, a wide, come-hither kind of grin that hits me straight in the feels . . . plus a few other, oh-so-memorable parts. He shifts a little, rests his elbows behind him on the bar. Stretches his long, long, looooong legs out in front of him. And looks like he doesn’t have a care in the world. And like he expects me to approach him.

Which is so totally not going to happen. I’ve already made prolonged eye contact with the guy. Actually walking up to him—a gorgeous stranger who obviously has an ego to match—is so not in the cards. I mean, it’s not that I’m ugly or anything. I have a reasonable amount of confidence in my own attractiveness. But there’s attractive and then there’s whatever that guy is, and I am honest enough to admit I’m not in his class. Hell, I’m not even sure he has a class . . . he might be the only one of his kind on the planet.

“What do you want to drink, Sage?” Autumn asks, and there’s a hint of impatience in her voice, like she’s asked the question a few times. It snaps me out of my trance—I swear, it’s like I’ve been dickmatized or something—and I decide what the hell.

“I’ll have another lemon drop,” I tell her, breaking my self-imposed limit just this once. It’s already been an hour since I had a drink—one more won’t do any real damage. I’ll still be the most sober woman at the party. Plus, if I’m going to let a rule slide tonight, the two-drink limit is a better rule to break than the don’t-screw-a-hot-stranger-in-a-public-bathroom one.

One more drink, I decide, just to loosen me up a little bit. Not enough to be okay wearing a penis hat by any means, but maybe just enough to make flirty eyes with the hottest guy in the place.

Maybe.

This is my first book by this author and I thought it was pretty good quick and easy read. It’s the second book in the series and I didn’t read the first one, but I had no problems following along. The title certainly lived up to its name because this started off with a bang between Sage and Shawn. It was like hello, nice to meetcha, let’s get it on, ‘kay?! Hallway in a bar style. All of their sexy times were pretty hot. Crazy sexual chemistry between these two crazy kids. I do want to check out the first book, it looks like it’s a good one.

4 Hot & Heavy Stars! Review by Nancy Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog Hot & Heavy by Tracy Wolff, the second book in the Lightning series, is definitely a hot read! This book was very enjoyable, it was entertaining and fast pace. Sage and Shawn will draw you in from page one, Wolff did an excellent job giving us two very compatible characters. Shawn and Sage meet in an unconventional way, a single hook up, in a bar. It absolutely baffles Shawn that she didn't want anything further, he is used to women falling all over him. Sage on the other hand was completely out of her element hooking up with Shawn, she likes simplicity and stability. Having to run her mothers yoga studio is all the unsteadiness and mess she needs in her life, she is not looking to complicate things with random hookups. Things get complicated when Shawn comes knocking at her yoga studio door. There is no denying the chemistry, these two are fire! Both have to work through some personal issues, but Shawn is determined to make Sage his again. Things heat up rather quickly and despite all of Sages reservations she can’t seem to keep him at arm's length. But sometimes sparks and chemistry just isn’t enough, when one of Shawn’s stunts chase Sage away, he needs to let go of some of his personal issues or loose the girl. A well written story about two people with reservations, searching and learning on their journey to find love. Wolff gave us a witty, steamy, and emotional read. Definitely worth a chance! I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Hot & Heavy is an insta-lust situation on crack. She isn't that kind of girl. Sage is far from the freak flag flying, hornball she appeared to be. it's him! He does this to her in a way that terrifies her. He doesn't know anything about her but...he wants to know it all! It definitely isn't his usual response but ....her. She makes Shawn want things he has never wanted before. Hot & Heavy has chemistry, enough concerns to add drama, and a sexual content that will either make you jealous or needy. Enjoy!

3.75 stars--HOT AND HEAVY is the second instalment in Tracy Wolff’s contemporary, adult LIGHTNING erotic, romance series focusing on the NFL’s San Diego Lightning. This is professional football player Shawn Wilson, and yoga instructor/accountant Sage Kaufmann’s story line. HOT AND HEAVY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person points of view (Sage and Shawn) HOT AND HEAVY follows the building relationship between professional football player Shawn Wilson, and yoga instructor/accountant Sage Kaufmann. Shawn Wilson is an adrenaline junkie, trying to keep the demons at bay. A bar quickie with a mysterious stranger finds our hero pining for a woman he knows nothing about until his teammate’s fiancé recommends therapeutic yoga for all of his ailments. Enter Sage Kaufmann, Shawn’s one-night stand, and the woman with whom Shawn will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Shawn and Sage, and the potential fall-out as Shawn’s selfishness and his need for adrenaline forces Sage to walk away to save her sanity and a possible broken heart. Twenty years earlier Shawn Wilson’s life spiralled out of control, and in the ensuing time, to bury his grief, Shawn embarks on dangerous and life-threatening endeavors to destroy the memories that claw at his soul. Sage Kaufmann has struggled throughout most of her life, following her hippie mother around the globe, in her attempts to find the next, best thing. On the verge of bankruptcy due to one of her mother’s ill-gotten schemes Sage accepts Shawn into her yoga studio in an effort to regain control of what was, and what could have been. The relationship between Shawn and Sage begins as a one-night stand; essentially a hit it and run in the back of a bar but an encounter that remains at the forefront of our couple’s minds. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters include Shawn’s teammates: star quarterback Hunter Browning and realtor Emerson Day; Tanner Green, and Clay Bruce; Hunter’s niece Lucy and nephew Brent; and Sage’s free-wheeling and impulsive yoga teaching mother. HOT AND HEAVY is a fast paced and sexy story line of insta-lust, betrayal, memories and love. The premise is captivating and edgy ; the characters are flirty and sassy; the romance is provocative and arousing. HOT AND HEAVY is a delightful and engaging entry into Tracy Wolff’s LIGHTNING series.

*Received an ARC of Hot & Heavy from the publisher via Netgalley. This is my honest review, no compensation was given.* Hot & Heavy is the second book in the Lightning Series, although I didn't read the first book, Down & Dirty, I did really enjoyed this book, which I feel can be read as a standalone. But now I will definitely go back and read the first book. The title of this book is pure perfection, Hot & Heavy is a smokin hot read. This is Sage and Shawn's story, and ohh my what an explosive one it is. These two are both broken souls. They meet in a bar and have a frenzied sexual encounter....In the back of the bar, in an alcove, against the wall. After this encounter Sage, always the good girl, that doesn't do even one week stands not alone a one night stand, literally runs out of the bar, leaving a very stunned Shawn. Shawn who is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL can't believe that this girl just ran out on him. Girls just don't do that, they chase him. As chance would have it, or actually more like mutual friends would have it, these two are thrown together again. These two characters have very different personalities, Sage is spunky, but also a bit of a fuddy-duddy who likes to have everything in her life under control and leave nothing to chance. Shawn is a risk taker and an adrenaline junkie always looking for his next high. I did enjoy the ups and downs of their courtship, and did love the way Shawn had to do some serious chasing, but it did seemed a little rushed at times. I guess I just wanted more. I loved the intense chemistry between Sage and Shawn, and Ms Wolff has definitely perfected the wickedly naughty scenes. This is a very hot read and I totally recommend it.

Rcvd an ARC at not cost to author..(netgalley) I have been waiting for this book for a while. I had read Hunter and Emerson's book and it had broken my heart but I still enjoyed it. This book was Shawn's book with Emerson's best friend Sage. I found it a little on the "yeah right" side that these two have never met, I couldn't believe it since Sage was supposedly Emerson's best friend and Shawn was one of Hunter's best friends, but it is what it is. I got that Sage grew up in an settled upbringing but I found her to be a little unreasonable and so my dislike of her. Then we have Hunter, this guy was fighting his demons his lost was profound and I got that he made these crazy adreline jumps, I got that everybody was worried, and sure give him advice but in the long run it is us up to him.

ENTHRALLING!!! I enjoyed reading this captivating story. It is the second book in the Lightning series and each book follows a different football player on the San Diego Lightning football team. Since I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, I was excited to read this book chronicling Shawn and Sage’s story. It is witty with a lot of sexual tension and great dynamics between the characters. In fact, the characters were a big factor in what makes this story so good. From the moment Shawn sees Sage, he is taken in by everything about her. Sage is like a breath of fresh air and different from the usual girls he meets. She is low maintenance and easy to be with and she keeps Shawn on his toes. For the first time, Shawn has to work to get a woman to go out with him. I loved these two together and fell in love with Shawn. He has been in the NFL for eight years as a wide receiver. He is charming, kind and genuine. However, he also has demons that make him reckless and emotionally closed off. When Sage first meets Shawn she has no idea who he is, but the intense feelings he brings out in her make her uncomfortable. Sage is feisty and vulnerable but she lacks confidence. When she discovers who Shawn is, she doesn’t understand how he could possibly be interested in her. Sage is the opposite of Shawn. She is an accountant and is cautious and doesn’t like to take a risk. She tries to keep her defenses up around Shawn but finds it hard to ignore him. Shawn is not the type of man Sage wants to be attracted to. Shawn and Sage have an instant attraction and sizzling chemistry. They are both flawed and vulnerable and suffered from childhood trauma. They are great together and I loved all their interactions. This enthralling story is fun and incredibly hot. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hot and Heavy certainly lives up to its title. Intense attraction followed by a full steam ahead relationship between two very guarded people but what happens when they hit a speed bump in the road to HEA. Both Sage and Shawn have emotional baggage stemming from their childhoods; where Shawn lost his mother and sister in a car accident, Sage lived in a state of constant turmoil and uncertainty thanks to her hippie-dippie mother. Both Sage and Shawn are determined to carve their own paths, in Sage’s case it makes her need control over her life with a clear plan and goals to give her the security she desperately craves. While security is the last thing on Shawn’s agenda as he has convinced himself as a way to be close to his mother’s spirit he needs to push his boundaries by seeking the next biggest thrill and adrenaline rush. You would think Shawn and Sage are on opposites ends of the scale where their lives are concerned, however, they feel a connection to each other that provides them with a balance they haven’t before experienced. But will Shawn’s compulsion for the next adrenaline high outweigh his need for Sage!!!!!

Sage and Shawn meet across a crowded bar and when Sage doesn’t respond in the manner Shawn is accustomed to, he follows her to a dark hallway. After a hot and steamy session he’s once more struck dumb when she refuses to share numbers with him and then takes off like the bats of hell are after her. Sage’s past left her needing to protect herself against any kind of instability and Shawn’s apparent need for an adrenaline rush is the type of thing she will not tolerate. But the chemistry between these two will not stay dormant and they end up in a flaming hot relationship that soon blossoms into more. I loved how Shawn was determined to be with Sage. His background left him with a hole that needed filling and my heart hurt for him. Sage was strong and independent but so weary of having to clean up all the messes her mother left behind in her wake. I wanted her to have a Shawn in her life that she could lean on to help carry the load. Interestingly enough, the story didn’t quite go in that direction and I was left wondering if anything regarding her mother was ever going to change. However, the relationship between her and Shawn was still heartwarming and engaging. This is a very fast paced read with some wonderful characters that I would love to read more about. The steam between the hero and heroine was so intense at moments that I’m sure I drooled a bit, if not a lot. There isn’t a lot of drama here but there were issues that each character had to work out both individually and as a couple. I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end even though I wish there had been more in the middle. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Random House - Loveswept. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book 2 in the Lightning series. This one is about Hunter's (Book 1) teammate Shawn and a friend of Emerson's (Book 1) Sage. Shawn and Sage meet at a bar and after making eyes at each other all night, they end up having a quick hookup in the back of the bar. Neither expects to see the other again, especially since Shawn couldn't get Sage to give him her number afterwards. But that changes when Shawn needs to have therapeutic yoga to help him heal his back after doing something his contract specifically says he shouldn't. And Sage has to accept because of the actions of her mother. They try to keep things professional, but things change. And they after they really start to know each other, they both start to fall. Until something happens that Sage doesn't think she can deal with. And Shawn has to decide what he wants more. Sage or his adrenaline rushes. I really liked this one. Sage is just trying to keep things together after growing up with a mother who is beyond flaky and never wants to grown up. After her mother leaves her in a bind yet again, she is just trying to find a way to fix things. Shawn deals with his problems by doing things that are dangerous. But underneath all that he is such a great guy. And reading about them actually becoming not only friends but falling in love was great. Especially when they both realized that they never really faced their own demons, they just found ways to hide from them. And then realized that their love for each other is more important than hiding. Such a great read.

Loved it. Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. Sage and Shawn have smoking hot chemistry. Sage the daughter of a hippie yoga instructor working as an accountant for stable life opposed to how she was raised also teaches therapeutic yoga. Shawn an NFL player and adrenaline junkie risking his life for close moments in the memory of his mom who was also a thrill seeker is injured. The two meet and have a one night stand and then mutual friend of both that neither of them knows, puts Shawn in contact with Sage to assist him with therapeutic yoga. Can't wait to read about the other players.

Another fantastic read in the Lightning series. Sage and Shawn. Night and day. Sage is running her mother's yoga studio while her mother is off yet again finding her bliss in India. After her childhood Sage settles for the sedate and predictable world of numbers. She's an accountant. She also keeps her mothers business going, that way everyone gets paid, bills sorted, taxes done. Shawn comes to her via a friend after he injures himself cliff diving in Mexico. Training camp starts in two weeks and he's still having pain in his shoulder. He finally agrees to try yoga and there he meets again the elusive Sage. The woman who ran from him after doing something she's never done before. Sage has just learned her mother emptied out the business bank account, and Shawn is at the door and could the day get any worse when Shawn wants personal treatment from Sage only so when Sage names an astronomical fee, he quickly agrees. He writes her a check and wants to start right away. Day after tomorrow, because he's busy the next day. Busy is what Shawn does when he can't outrun his past and those feelings catch up with him. Shawn is an adrenaline junkie, he's however pushing the limits now and even his best friends are calling him out on it. Then there's Sage. What happens when Shawn takes one step too far? I loved these two together and such a great read. Plot is smooth, the flow is perfection and the pages flew by and it's stellar. Tracy is a favorite. Consistently great books! 4.5 stars *arc from NetGalley and Loveswept for an honest review**

Sage and Shawn could not have more different philosophies on life if they tried.. Sage lives a very sheltered and mundane life. Shawn is an adrenaline junkie who can't get enough out of pushing the envelope with his life. Shawn is a professional football player. Sage is an accountant. They meet by chance at a bar where Sage is attending a bachelorette party for one of her employees at the Yoga Studio she owns with her mother. Sage has a one-night stand with Shawn that she willingly walks away from because she doesn't want to risk putting her heart out there for anyone. Shawn is pretty much the same underneath, he is scarred by the death of his mother and sister when he was younger and has acted out ever since. His demons and her demons, although different in their origins, are the same - neither one wants to have a true emotional, romantic connection with the opposite sex. Shawn needs rehab on his shoulder and is given Sage's name as a yoga instructor who can work magic on it. Sage is shocked to see Shawn and even more shocked at what he offers her to be his private yoga instructor. Sage did have quite a bit of misplaced anger and she had no inhibitions on letting Shawn know how she felt about his recklessness with his own life. I felt she was quite judgmental and never even asked him why he did it. She only gave her opinion. Shawn, to his credit, did try to get to know Sage, but she shut him down almost every time. I did like how they both pushed outside of their comfort zones for the other one. The book flowed well and I had no issue understanding where either one of them were coming from in their philosophies on life. Overall I really did like this book. I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

When Sage Kaufmann attends a bachelorette party with a group of friends at a bar she never expects that it is going to lead to the hottest hook-up of her life... all she planned to do that night was have her two cocktails and then go home, but she wound up doing a whole lot more than that!! When her eyes connected with a tall, gorgeous man across the bar she was immediately drawn to him, but quickly decided he was to hot to take an interest in a girl like her... but she was so, so, wrong! Shawn Wilson is a man that likes to walk on the wild side, if it's risky and dangerous sign him up, he loves to push the limits, and not really dwell on the consequences. Which is why he is currently nursing a sore shoulder; he just had to push the limits on his vacation, and now his coach is telling him he might need to look into yoga to get his shoulder ready for training camp. He of course doubts the power of yoga, that is until his eyes land on the woman who will be teaching it to him, Sage is beyond gorgeous, and he wants to explore more than just some poses on the yoga mat with her. But she isn't looking for a man, especially one who likes to live dangerously! Hot and Heavy is sexy tale of taking risks, overcoming demons, and finding the courage to open your heart to love. The moment I met these two I knew they were a great pairing, they had amazing off the charts chemistry, but both of them also had demons that were preventing them from living a full life, so I knew their opposite personalities would compliment one another nicely, and also help the other see what they were missing living too cautiously. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it was heartfelt, steamy, humorous, and good for the soul... I highly recommend you check it out, it's sure to leave your heart happy and your toes curled! I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This book is the 2nd book in the Lighting football team series and Shawn Wilson's story. Shawn lost his mom and baby sister 20 years ago and still is not dealing with the loss very well. Instead of just concentrating on his professional football career, Shawn is an adrenaline junkie trying to find his next fix. One night in a bar Shawn notices a sexy brunette and he can't take his eyes off of her. Normally the women will come over to him, but this one doesn't seem to be biting. After sending her table over a round of old-fashion drinks she looks at him and runs off to the bathroom. Shawn decides to follow her and finally gets the chance to talk to the sexy brunette, Sage Kauffman. One thing quickly leads to another and these two are getting it on in an alcove in the bar. What neither of them expected was how electric their chemistry was. After finishing their fun, Sage quickly leaves. She is not this type of girl who has sex with a stranger in a bar of all places. She likes her life in neat, perfect order. Too bad life has other plans for her and Shawn. When Shawn was cliff jumping in Mexico, he hurt his back. The Drs say everything is healed, but he still has some pain. When Shawn's QB buddy, Hunter 's girlfriend, Emerson suggests that Shawn tries yoga with her good friend, Sage, Shawn can't believe his ears. With that name it can't be a coincidence. Imagine Sage's surprise when the football player who shows up for private yoga is none other than Shawn! Sage immediately wants to shut Shawn out, but he convinces her that he wants private lessons and even agrees to her fee of $150,000!!!! Of course the more private time these two spend together, the more things heat up. While both Shawn and Sage have demons from their past that they both must overcome first in order to get to their happy ending, they have a fun and flirty ride while getting there. Overall I really enjoyed these characters and the story they went on. It was a fun, enjoyable read.

Hot & Heavy's title certainly delivers just that, oodles of hot and heavy not to mention uber sexy interactions between Sage & Shawn. I really like this couple and feel they were perfect for each other. Their chemistry was so off the charts that Sage finds herself doing something completely out of character the very first night she meets him, that is she does him in the back hallway of the bar. But it turns out to be the beginning of something great! Really good story to go along with all the hotness though. I do appreciate a good story with substance mixed in with the sexy times.

This was a fantastic book. I thought Shawn and Sage worked so well together. Just what the other needed to give each balance. For Shawn being and NFL wide receiver wasn't enough he was also an adrenaline junkie. An addiction he fed with extreme sports. When an injury threatens to derail his career he finds himself at Sage's yoga studio door for help. Sage, after growing up with a loving but flighty mother, simply wants stability in her life. Running a yoga studio isn't her dream but it seems she's still taking care of her mother. She enjoys the therapeutic yoga aspect of the job and therefore she's certain she can help Shawn. Nothing else can develop between them. He definitely does not bring stability to her life. Can she calm him and can he get her to live a little? Grab a copy of this one and find out. You'll be happy you did. I definitely recommend it.

One look across the bar and it was lust at first sight. Shawn is an adrenaline junky, Sage is a yoga instructor with a flaky mother. She is at a bachelorette party, he is with his friend. Will a one night stand turn into a full time roller coaster ride? Sexy read. with a HEA. Loved this book and read it all in one sitting. I received this book from Net Galley and Random House Publishing for an honest review and no compensation otherwise

4 1/2 Stars! A quick hot read! Shawn is a NFL player who is also an adrenaline junky. Sage is an accountant and a yoga instructor. Shawn is dumbfounded when his usual smile at a woman doesn’t work, in fact, it sends her running in the opposite direction. But even Sage eventually can’t deny the electricity between them. Shawn pays her $150,000 to help the pain in his shoulder go away with therapeutic yoga ... and one thing leads to another. This book has a little bit of everything ... it will make you laugh, cry and get all hot and bothered. Shawn made me swoon, but then he would do something stupid and I just wanted to slap him. And Sage ... I just wanted her to tell her mother to grow up and take some responsibility. It’s the sign of a great book when it evokes such strong feelings. I recommend this quick hot read. I received an ARC courtesy of Random House - Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Sage Kaufmann is not somewhat old-fashioned by choice; when you know her mother, you understand why. That’s why it was so out of character for her to succumb to the charms of this insanely gorgeous man in a bar. The “Hot Stuff”, Shaw Wilson, is not used to women not approaching him, which makes Sage all the more enticing; he has to work for her. Who knew that injuring himself while cliff diving in Mexico would lead him to Sage’s yoga studio, where things get very HOT & HEAVY. Before the His Royal Highness duology, I had never read Tracy Wolff, and I liked those books so much, it was a no-brainer for me to see what else she could do. While the basic story for HOT & HEAVY offers nothing new, Ms. Wolff does a great job because the characters are interesting: Shawn is a man who lives on the edge but is not a jerk, and while Sage is completely under his sexual spell, so is he. As the title implies, HOT & HEAVY is just that: it’s a very steamy story, but with amazing dialogues, fabulous secondary characters: Sage’s mother (oy!) – and I cannot wait for Clay and Tanner’s stories! – and simply great storytelling, and there are also some very intense and emotional moments. HOT & HEAVY is a quick read, and the Lightning series promises to be good sexy fun. I give 4 ½ stars

I loved this one! Shawn is such an easy character to love and Sage, while she was a bit uptight, I was happy to see her play hard to get. Not that she was playing. Her insecurities made it look like she was only partially interested. It worked for me because I just love it when a heroine makes the player type hero really work for it. Shawn and Sage both deal with some past baggage but it didn't over power the story. They were fun to read about and I can't wait for the next book.
