Overview

Teaches the importance of teamwork and perseverance through seven crayons with unique personalities and their desire to see the world in color.

The Sun and the Clouds are best friends. Together they keep the world warm, the gardens growing, and the sky full of beautiful rainbows. But one day they get into a fight and refuse to be in the sky together. And that means there are no longer any rainbows. Without rainbows, the colors start disappearing until Earth was left with no color ... except for one little forgotten box of crayons in one little school desk.

Determined to save the rainbows and fix the Sun and Clouds’ friendship, the crayons draw rainbows all over town. Their attempts go unnoticed. Soon they realize that they’re going to have to do something big to get the attention of the former friends. So, the crayons create the biggest rainbow they can and hope it’s enough to bring color back to the world.

How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow by Monica Sweeney is positively adorable! I love that this book teaches kids how important it is to work together. The crayons are able to save the rainbow by helping the sun and clouds to become best friends again. They're determination pays off and once again there's color in the world. My kids absolutely love this book and have been asking to read it just about every night before bed. How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow by Monica Sweeney is definitely one of our favorite books and I highly recommend it! Disclosure: I received product(s) for free, in exchange for my honest review. I only recommend products I've used personally, and believe will be good fit for consumers.

What happens when you fight with your best friend?? What if the fight is so bad that you stop talking to each other? Stop hanging out together?? What happens if those best friends are The Sun and The Clouds?? Well, I'll tell you what! Everything stops being colorful!! It becomes a drab, black, gray and white world, that's what!! How The Crayons Saved The Rainbow is a story about best friends. The Sun and The Clouds have been best friends forEVER and have made the grass green, the flowers colorful and they made rainbows together! After the fight they each go to their side of the sky. So, when the clouds are out it's cold, wet and windy. When the sun is out it's just hot, dry and miserable. As a result the colors start to fade all over the world. That is until one abandoned box of crayons fall out of their box and set out on a quest to color the world. Starting out small the crayons color rainbows everywhere, but as curious as The Sun and The Clouds are they still aren't talking. The crayons decide to make one HUGE rainbow, one that goes across the entire sky. This is an awesome book to teach children about the importance of friendship, teamwork and perseverance. If it's important don't ever give up!! The writing is super cute. The story is wonderful to follow, the little crayons are a crack up! The illustrations are so dang cute!! I especially love that they make 4-year-old Alice laugh! This book as 32 pages, 10" by 10" and gets no whines from me. The 4-year-old loves this book. I received a free or greatly discounted product for the purpose of this review. The opinions are 100% mine. I have not been influenced in any way. I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe in.
