Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
In a board book love letter from mother (or female caregiver) to child, I Love You, Good Night by Jon Buller and Susan Schade, illus. by Bernadette Pons, a child gets reassurance of the adult's affection in everyday pleasures: "I love you like I love blueberry pancakes!" the motherly mouse says. "I love you like frogs love flies!" she says near the pond, and of course the title phrase comes at bedtime. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature
As the day progresses, a mother mouse uses different similes to explain how much she loves her little one. "I love you like mice love cheese. / I love you like vines love trees." Many of the little scenes show them doing something together in nature, which allows for a bit of discussion between reader and child. "I love you like wind loves blowing. / I love you like plants love growing." The illustrator has paid attention to the details, as we see the dripping raincoat and muddy boots hanging in the little mouse's bedroom after the page "I love you like boots love splashing in puddles." One sentence on a page keeps the text simple and tied to the illustrations. Each page rhymes with the next, giving the text a nice flow. This board book will be a reassuring bedtime read for the young audience. 2006, Simon & Schuster, Ages 3 mo. to 2.

A very sweet story that can you read when they've first entered the world until four or even older (I won't personally know), but a very sweet good night story for boys and girls.

I started reading this book to my son when he was a newborn, he is now 16 months and still loves it, he pulls out all the books from the shelf until he finds it and gives it to me to read to him.

This is a very sweet book to read every night. Toddlers can finish the ending of every page. You can even recite it over the phone if you're away, or at night after the lights are off.

I started reading this adorable book when my baby was only days old. He is now 15 weeks and immediately smiles when I start to read it! A definite must-have for your child's book collection.
