If My Heart Could See You by Sherry Ewing

When you're enemies, does love have a fighting chance?

For Amiria of Berwyck, defeat does not come easily as she watches her home and clan being ripped asunder. When the very enemy who has laid siege to her home demands her fealty, she will do whatever it takes to protect her people including a hastily concocted ruse that quickly begins to unravel. All too soon, she starts to question whether she can forgive herself for betraying those she has sworn to protect.

Dristan of Blackmore, champion knight of King Henry II, has a reputation to uphold as the Devil's Dragon. After his invading army conquers Berwyck castle, he sets out to manage the newly claimed estate by training its knights in the art of proper defense. At first, everything appears as it should be, or is it? Betrayed by those he believed he could trust, he must first set aside his anger before he can make room in his heart for love.

Together they are tied by an unspoken bond. As they begin to rebuild the land and unite their people, forces beyond their control attempt to tear apart their fragile truce and only time will tell if love will forever bring them together.

Don't miss Sherry Ewing's other novels that continue her series: For All of Ever (a medieval time travel romance) & Only For You (medieval with a hint of time travel) give Dristan's captain of the guard, Riorden de Deveraux, a chance at finding love! A Knight To Call My Own, a medieval romance featuring Lynet of Clan MacLaren, is also available.

This is my first full length romance and my first novel by Sherry Ewing. Wow to both! I loved Amiria's determination to keep her family safe and together and the unique way she chooses to do so. She's so feisty! I loved Dristan's strength, honor and even his softer side. He definitely is the alpha hero. Sherry's character and setting descriptions painted such vivid pictures in my mind. Each character, even the secondary ones, were developed completely. Rarely do I finish a book and think that it should be made into a movie, yet I am convinced that this one would be wonderful. I'm having fun thinking about who would play each character. If you start this book, be prepared. It draws you in from the first sentence and you may not be able to put it down until the last. I couldn't!

This story is Amazing. I had a great time reading this book. the story flows easily, there are the usual turns and twist, there were a few things that I was expecting, but the author still managed to surprise me with it. LOVE IT will read more from her

Decent story and characters. Sadly, the author is clueless about basic rules of grammar and punctuation, especially the use of apostrophes. She also referred to a face as "continence" instead of "countenance", misused bear/bare and between/among, and switched tenses mid-sentence. The sloppy editing/proofreading diminished what could have been a better reading experience.

I'm not usually one to NOT finish a book BUT 204 pages into this 300+ page book and I've had it! It is beyond boring. I'd rather read something else. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it.

Enjoyed Dristan and Amairia's story. Must say that I keep getting intrigued by the historical aspects as well as depiction of life at the time. Thought it was well done.

I will read another book from this author as i think she will be good. This book is good & shows potential. I just found it to be a bit odd in places & very good in others. It might have been the editing was off.
