This is my first full length romance and my first novel by Sherry Ewing. Wow to both! I loved Amiria's determination to keep her family safe and together and the unique way she chooses to do so. She's so feisty! I loved Dristan's strength, honor and even his softer side. He definitely is the alpha hero. Sherry's character and setting descriptions painted such vivid pictures in my mind. Each character, even the secondary ones, were developed completely. Rarely do I finish a book and think that it should be made into a movie, yet I am convinced that this one would be wonderful. I'm having fun thinking about who would play each character. If you start this book, be prepared. It draws you in from the first sentence and you may not be able to put it down until the last. I couldn't!

Not everything is how it appears. You will understand what I am saying when you read this book and you must read it! If My Heart Could See You by Sherry Ewing is book 1 in The MacLaren's series. To be honest this is the first book I have read of Sherry’s but I can tell you it won’t be the last and I am so looking forward to reading book 2. Sherry has such an amazing way of writing the littlest details so that you get the full picture and story. Her characters are just wonderful and you can’t help falling in love with them as you travel back to 1174 Scotland’s border. This story has betrayal, evil, greed, death, battles, capture, jealousy, kindness, duty, understanding, rape, forgiveness and yes love. What a great read! I highly recommend this book you won’t be disappointed. ***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

This story about Berwyck castle has been ruled by the MacLaren family...Dristan...Devil's Dragon of Blackmore is sent from King Henry to capture and lay claim in his name. He and his men do just that but one of his own has been acting dishonorably. Hugh is a major trouble maker in this whole story! Dristan seeks out the remaining family (thinking he has killed the father only) and wishes the eldest son Aiden to pledge himself (and his siblings) to Dristan and King Henry! Aiden does so; however, it isn't Aiden but his twin sister Amiria who pretends to be Aiden. Aiden is thought to be dead, and she vows to fight. Once Dristan finds out who is really in the armor he can't deny the attractions and know he must marry her (also by the king's order)...The love story has mystery, betrayal and of course redemption...It is a lovely light tail that has accurate history but with the authors own twist and turns...I am anxious to read the next in this series...You won't be disappointed!

Decent story and characters. Sadly, the author is clueless about basic rules of grammar and punctuation, especially the use of apostrophes. She also referred to a face as "continence" instead of "countenance", misused bear/bare and between/among, and switched tenses mid-sentence. The sloppy editing/proofreading diminished what could have been a better reading experience.

I'm not usually one to NOT finish a book BUT 204 pages into this 300+ page book and I've had it! It is beyond boring. I'd rather read something else. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it.

What a lovely exciting book! I really enjoyed it and could scarecly put it down. Just when you think surely they are safe now something else pops up and they are in danger again! It holds your interest! Good read!

Enjoyed Dristan and Amairia's story. Must say that I keep getting intrigued by the historical aspects as well as depiction of life at the time. Thought it was well done.

I will read another book from this author as i think she will be good. This book is good & shows potential. I just found it to be a bit odd in places & very good in others. It might have been the editing was off.
