I enjoyed this just as much as all of the "in death" series. I've beeb reading them for a number of years and feel like I know the characters personally. Nook has given me the opportunity to read the earlier books and the few I have missed. They're a quick read and always enjoyable. I hope Ms. Robb continues to write this series for a long time. C. JD Robb really knows how to write this series and keep your interest going wanting more, and when you finish you will say 'ok, whens the next one. How long do we have to wait.'

Everything the future has changed. The way we eat, the way we exercise, the way we make love. But like I have said before, murder doesn't change. But this murderer, likes the old way of killing off people. Jack the Ripper, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy and many more old style murders. These are all past names, but still the spirit still lingers. And sometimes, someone will possess that spirit and  kill exactly the same way, even use the same name. But is it a spirit, or is it someone that fantasizes about the deaths and wants to make those names popular again. Is it just one person, or multiple killers? Dallas must find out before famous Cop Killer comes knocking on her door.

Another great investigation and more drama in the Roarke manor. This book was different than the rest because Eve knew the killer from the beginning on a feeling after the first interview, but of course politics were in the way and she had to follow the law by the book and tried really hard to pin the murders on this very important killer. Since he was like a copycat, Eve already had an idea about the victims and the murder weapon in the cases, but it was still very difficult for her to watch more innocent people get killed by a lunatic. I liked how the investigation led to different states, it’s always funny seeing Eve and Roarke traveling in style and she loves to fight him about it. Also another difficult thing was the fact Roarke was pretty positive Eve was supposed to be another victim by this killer and was very nervous about her life, but that didn’t really change her way, because as she always answer, it’s just her duty. Anyway another great book and I can’t get enough with this couple. So cute together.

This is an average J. D. Robb; but it's dragged down by the cover art in this case. Not the quality (although I believe the cover art has been updated to the current series standard in the paperback edition). I won't go into detail here, but you can probably guess what I mean once you get sufficiently into the book. Still, the concept of a killer playing copycat of the most infamous serial killers in history has its attraction for hard-core police procedural lovers, and raises the book from 2 stars to 3 for me.

This installment of the "In Death" series was a particular favorite of mine. I was quite intrigued by the killer "copy catting" historic serial killers and taunting Dallas along the way. While you knew he would be caught, it was interesting to see what road blocks the killer would throw in her path. I also love how this particular series gives you more information and development of the characters in each book. I can't wait to see what is in store for us in the next one!

J. D. Robb did a fantastic job writing this novel as part of her (In Death Series). It is a phenomenal read. Read it for yourself and enjoy it the way that I did. I can't say too much about it without giving it away. I promise you won't be disappointed if you purchase this book and read it.
