Immortal Bones: Detective Saussure Mysteries - Book 1 by Trinidad Giachino

It's the '50s and Richard Saussure could have sworn he'd heard it all between his career as a police officer and his current PI business...

Then a man walks in saying he is 213 years old.

Lord Hurlingthon wants to die, but he cannot no matter what he tries. The worst part, he doesn’t understand why. As a last effort, he reaches out to the only person who can’t say no to his cry for help. Detective Richard Saussure has never walked away from an unsolved case. If anyone can help, Richard Saussure has the reputation and the results Lord Hurlingthon needs.
But how do you solve a mystery that defies all laws of nature?

Maybe with the help of your enemy. It is not something Richard is eager to employ, but Doctor Annette Kensington has the skills and the passion for justice he needs. If only she did not completely loathe him...
Can Detective Saussure convince her to put aside their differences for the sake of justice, or will this be the case he fails to solve? If Lord Hurlingthon is going to have a chance to die, they better work fast.

About the Author

TRINIDAD GIACHINO IS AN INDIE WRITER from Buenos Aires, Argentina. After many failed attempts, Trinidad has managed to combine her stage training background and her studies in literature and linguistics from Buenos Aires University (UBA) into one single purpose: to craft deeply human characters with a dark side that we can all relate to. A yoga enthusiast and a cat lover, Trinidad Giachino shares her days with felines, canines and the occasional human, while creating stories. She is also constantly trying to trick her palate by exchanging high coffee dosages for the always less amicable cup of tea. Detective Saussure Mysteries is a horror book series for adults set in the 1950’s that blends the traditional genre of private detectives with supernatural horror. And a hint of humor. Because you can’t appreciate the darkness unless there is some light in it as well… Sign up here to get early notice of Trinidad Giachino’s new releases:

Extraordinary and imaginative story. Fast moving plot with suspense and thought provoking twists and turns. A story line I've never read before and i read the obscure to the modern. Masterful climax.

I realli enjoyed reading this book. It's a good mystery with paranormal overtones and keeps you guessing throughout the story. The characters are interestiing and and the story well edited. That said, there is room for improvement. It sometimes felt like this might be the second book in a series. Characters and events are mentioned of which we know nothing about and are never explained in this book. Also the ending seemed somewhat abrupt. The main character is such a hardcore skeptic about the paranormal aspects of the case throuhout the entire story and then it seems as though between one paragraph and the next he's a firm believer and doesn't question anything that's said or happens after that point. Overall I found the story a good read.
