Inked Memories (Montgomery Ink Series #8) by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Montgomery Ink series by NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues when the final Denver Montgomery sibling refuses to fall for his brother’s former flame—the company’s new plumber.

Wes Montgomery watched his entire family fall in love, and now finds himself ready to settle down. Except the one person he seems to find chemistry with is not only his twin’s ex, she also works for Montgomery Inc. But when the two find themselves in one compromising situation after another, Wes realizes he’s having second thoughts about the dynamic woman who’s burst her way into his life. Sure she sets off his temper, but she also makes him hot in every other way possible.

Jillian Reid never loved her best friend like everyone thought she should, so she pushed him away so he could have his future. Now, despite fighting it, she finds herself attracted to the one man she shouldn’t. When her father’s health takes a turn for the worse, and a danger no one saw coming show its face, she’s forced to turn to Wes for help. The two of them have fought off their attraction long enough, and each cave to the desire. But this enemies-to-lovers tale might have an ending no one ever dreamed of.

Loved it, just a really good book.

Another great book to end the Denver Montgomery’s stories. The last single Montgomery as he likes to call himself, Wes is the main character for this book. It’s an interesting path to his happy ending including a visit from the mob, but it’s a really good ending to this branch of the family tree. I kind of hate to see the end of them although I’m sure they will pop up occasionally in the other branches of the family. Great book.

Inked Memories Montgomery Ink Book 8 I really enjoy The Montgomery Ink series and Ink Memories is book 8 and it's a fabulous, good story! This series is sensual and very enjoyable read with a core of good-hearted characters and a charming close knit family. This story features the Wes the final Denver Montgomery sibling who refuses to instantly fall for his brother’s ex girlfriend Jillian and to top it all off she's the company’s new plumber. This is an engaging end to the final Denver Montgomery Ink series and I know most contemporary romance readers will fall in love and find it quite enjoyable. Wes Montgomery is the last brother who hasn't got a woman to love and come home too. Wes considers himself as the fixed it one in the family, he has tried to fix every problem (that is if he know about it and if his family will allow him to ) his twin Storm, or his other siblings even his parents have. But he can't fix himself. Wes has watched them all fall in love and now he finds hisself ready to settle down. But the woman he seems to have scorching hot chemistry with is Jillian and she works for Montgomery Inc. not to mention she is his twin’s ex girlfriend ( talk about fixing a problem WOW). Jillian Reid is a independent woman who wants to fight her own battles when it comes to job as the new plumber at Montgomery Inc. She feels she has to be careful there's no gossip about her and her best friend Storm who is also her ex but she is friends with Storm Fiancee Everly. But now she's having these feelings for his twin Wes and every time they are near each other they are at each other throat or locking their lips together. Wes is easily my favorite character in this book. I enjoy that Wes is so passionate and charming, he cares about helping his family and cares about his brother feeling. But with Jillian the burn up the pages their chemistry is so hot. I also enjoyed the little subplot with mystery and suspense. Plus that's what I love about Carrie Ann Ryan Books she always include the previous characters which in this case is the Montgomery family. If you are like myself you will love all the characters in the Montgomery Ink series. This book and the series emphasized the aspect of family love as we see them experiencing it , others reconnecting, and others finding a chance at second love. The entire family will just capture your heart. I really do recommend this series for contemporary romance readers looking for a scorching hot fabulous read. The Montgomery Ink series had just enough drama to create believable tension, but not too much to where it was annoying. The heat level is scorching hot, with the connection between the characters jumps off the page. I love how good I feel after finishing one of these stories. I can’t wait to read the next book about the cousins they are up next in Montgomery Series!

With each book of this series I couldn’t wait fir the next.. I love how Wes and Jilli started out, with a twist here and there. He was the last to find what he was looking for. Jilli was some who didn’t want love.. I can’t wait for the series to start..

I loved Wes and Jillian story. The play between these two are amazing. Nothing beats my first love Austin but this last installment of Denver Montgomery family was hot too. There is a reason I own every single CAR book. --Tara Holroyd

**4.5 stars** Only Carrie Ann Ryan could make me enjoy a story SO much with such an awkward storyline - and only she could make it seem not awkward at ALL!! Loved how we finally got some insight into Wes and his view on things and his relationships with all the other Montgomery family members. This was super interesting to me as we didn't really know THAT much about him until this book - just bits and pieces along the way. This was enemies to lovers all the way but along the way they realized they weren't really enemies and had no reason to be enemies at all. Great chemistry and individual stories. If you are thinking this might not be for you - give it a try, I thought the same thing but loved it! SO sad to see this part of the family ending but it was a great sendoff and a good lead-in for the other section of the Montgomery's to come into play.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. First off, I love this series. Carrie Ann Ryan made me drool over a bunch of bearded tattooed men, when that is so not my type, lol. And her ladies have their stuff together. They're not stupid, and that goes a long way to me. This installment is no different. Wes is a bearded tattooed architect and part owner of Montgomery, Inc, the construction arm of the Montgomery family and Jillian is the well respected plumber who we'd previously met. The tension between the two of them is apparent from the beginning, but so is the complication. Jillian is the ex of Wes' twin, Storm. Talk about awkward. They fight their attraction and it's quite amusing. I cheered when they finally gave in. The outside drama that affected the business didn't flow as seamlessly as I would have expected, but the drama between the two of them more than made up for it. Sad to read the last book of this branch of the family but look forward to the cousins.

I wanted this book to be two things for me as a reader. I really wanted Wes and Jillian's story to rock because their tension has been 2 books long! At some point the collision had to happen. (I was particularly found of the barn!) I also wanted this to wrap up all loose ends from other Montgomery stories since this would be the last one. I like the epilogue and to a point it did that, but I feel like there were things left out or that could have been wrapped up better. This book did a good job of setting up the Colorado Springs Montgomery's stories. So, overall, I felt like Wes & Jillians story should have had more to it since we won't likely see them again and I felt that the other Montgomery's were only a gift bag wrapped package, not paper wrapping with a bow. I also would love for a prequel with Marie and Harry.

This is a cute story. Since this is the first book in the series that I have read, I didn't have anything to compare it to as some of the other readers who reviewed the book. Jillian Reid was considered a friend with benefits to Storm, Wes Montgomery's brother. Jillian and Wes never really got along well due to that fact. When Jillian starts working as a plumber in the Montgomery family construction firm the relationship changes from boss to employee, however they can't deny the feelings they have for each other. They are both dealing with family situations such as Wes' Ex and Jillian's Dad, when they realize life is way too short not to get together. As with most couples, there are obstacles to overcome. The entire Montgomery family Is very supportive which helps them to continue the relationship. I recommend reading it since I feel the story can stand alone on its own if you haven't read the others. I really enjoy Carrie Ann's style of writing and I'm looking forward to reading more of her works in the future. Reviewed by: Christina K.

Book 8 (and last one in the Denver portion) in the Montgomery Ink series. This is absolutely a standalone book but I highly recommend reading the previous books as they are about the couples that you see in this book. This way you understand how their relationships came about and affected the other siblings and friends. This one is about Wes Montgomery and Jillian Reid. Wes is Storm's twin brother and Jillian is Storm's best friend (and former friend with benefits, which was explained in the last book). Wes is feeling lonely now that everyone else in his family has found happiness and a significant other. He is the odd man out even with them all making the time to still be around him. Jillian is looking for her happy ever after. She always knew it wasn't Storm but she still hasn't found the one for her, and she is feeling lonely herself. She tends to just work and spend time with her dad since his fall. Jillian and Wes tend to argue over anything and everything, even though he is her boss now that she works for Montgomery Inc. Now that Wes knows that Jillian wasn't stringing Storm along and making him miserable he has trouble hiding his own attraction to Jillian and tends to last out before he can think about it. They both try to resist falling for the attraction they feel for each other and it is great to read! I absolutely loved this book!! I was impatiently waiting for Wes's story and boy did it NOT disappoint! Wes is not only an alpha type but he is sweet too! He is there for everyone in his family and for his friends, beyond what he probably should be. Jillian tends to work too hard and puts herself out there for her friends and family. And then when loss hits so close to home, she bottles it up. I cried so hard for her! It was heartbreaking! And then you throw them together and it's like dynamite! Along with the intrigue that I never saw coming the way it did? I loved every minute of it! I seriously cannot wait for the spin off series books!! Another great read by a great author!

I am sad to see the end of the Denver Montgomery family but Wes and Jillian ended it on a high note. Wes is the last of his family still single and Jillian is his twin brother's best friend and former friend with benefits. Both long to find someone to love and start a family with. The journey they take us on is so full of emotions. I laughed out loud, I cried and I smiled thru this story. I think I experienced every emotion while reading this book. The saw horse scene was classic!!! My mouth was hanging open. When you read it, you will totally understand.

Wes has always been the one that others came to when they needed anything but now he is starting to feel like the lone wolf as all his siblings have their “one”. Maybe that explains his unexplainable attraction to Jillian who not only had a friend’s with benefits relationship with his brother but she is everything that he is not looking for in a woman. Jillian is used to working with men and all the banter and innuendos that go with it and as a result she is not shy about speaking her mind. Not only is she working for Montgomery Inc. she is on the same team as Wes and they are like night and day and have differing opinions on just about everything. She has enough to deal with due to her father’s health so she doesn’t have time to waste on why Wes doesn’t approve of her. When they are reminded of how fragile and short life is they realize that the dislike they are feeling for each other is actually a front for more deeper feelings but when danger surrounds them will they be able to overcome it unscathed? I have loved this series and this book is no exception. I am sad to see it end however it was great to catch up with the couples in the previous books. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Wes Montgomery is the last of the Denver Montgomery family to fall in love. His twin brother Storm has fallen in love. His friends-with-benefits girl Jillian works as a plumber for the family company. Jillian starts to set off his temper and slowly he starts to have other thoughts about her. They fight the attraction as long as they can until her personal life takes a turn for the worse and they are thrown together. These enemies-to-lovers end up with the best HEA. I have enjoyed this series and how each book can be read as a stand-alone. I loved Wes and Jillian. Loved the frenemies to lovers and loved catching up with the Montgomery family. Wonderful book! I received this HEA from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!!!

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! I am so sadden this series has ended. This book was also the perfect ending. I am so glad that we will be able to revisit the Montgomery of Denver in the spin off books. I loved all of the Montgomery of Denver. I am sure that I will also love the Montgomery of Colorado Springs + Tabby's brothers. Wes is attracted to Jillian, but he is afraid to act on it, Jillian is tired of the "no commitment' relationships. She is ready to settle down + to find "the one" As they get to know each other, they start to see that they might have something between them. Are they willing to give this "something" a chance? Soon enough, they can't keep their hands from each other. The sexual energy between these two are off the chart. ( Jillian's father was such a sweet man ) I loved that the author added a bit of a mystery element to the story. Are all the break ins connected? What are they looking for ? In the end, they could not live w/o each other. Such a lovely storytelling! As always, loved the characters.

4.5 Stars!! Wes finally gets his HEA!! The Montgomery clan is back and this time Wes Montgomery is front and center. He and Jillian, his brother's ex-friend-with-benefits and the woman who drives Wes crazy with just a look, get their long overdue story. Their story is filled with a little bit of angst, a lot of emotion and the steamy, hot goodness you've come to expect from the Montgomery men. There's even a little danger and a mystery. What would a Montgomery Ink book be without a trip to the local ER?? There is also nice little introduction to some of the other Montgomery clans from the surrounding cities. I love Wes! He is good, sexy and he loves hard. Jillian is a little lost, but wants her HEA; however, she is worried about Wes hurting her. I like that Jillian was vulnerable and in turn that made Wes vulnerable. That is one of my favorite things about this series, the characters are larger than life, but yet they a written with the perfect human component. Wes and Jillian's story isn't all sunshine and roses, but in the end, they get their HEA and it is perfection!

Sooooooo good! I loved this book and read it in an afternoon. Nope, I did not put it down. I just gave my hubby the evil eye when he tried (unsuccessfully) to take me away from Wes and Jillian. There was just so much happening that I was drawn into it.I loved how they took the passion from their fighting and turned it into more. I loved the heat and also the mystery of who was breaking into the job site. I just hate that this was the last of the Denver Montgomerys but I am looking forward to the next chapter. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

As sad as I am to know that the Denver Montgomerys series is over, I’m glad Wes finally got his HEA. That he found that HEA with Jillian just makes me happier. Jillian is such an amazing character. She was so supportive of Storm and Everly, it was definitely time for her to find happiness. At times, my heart hurt for her, and for everything she had to go through to get to the point of acceptance. The relationship between Jillian and Wes was at times comical, and at other times caustic. Wes’s initial reluctance and confusion led to situations that made me LOL. There were times that I wasn’t sure they were going to be able to move forward, but as always, they found a way. As with all of the books in this series, family, loyalty and love play a huge part. And be prepared for some surprises, that come out of nowhere! It was an amazing ending to a facinating series, and I’m eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Montgomery Family Saga! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is soooo bittersweet. I couldn't wait to see Wes finally find someone, since he was the last single sibling. In addition, I love that it was Jillian! The bittersweet side, is that this is the last Montgomery Ink book. I know we will see more of these characters in the future, but I'm still sad to see this series end. I'm always sad to see a series end though! This book met every single expectation and more! I love that Carrie Ann always brings great twists to her books! There were many unexpected aspects to this book and many moments that made you go "hmm." In addition to those special moments we had so many emotions in this book. This whole series has always been complex and we always got to feel so many emotions. To me this was one of the more emotional books, and I loved that! On to Wes and Jillian. In Inked Expressions we got to see a little bit of the spark between these two, you know it's going to be good when the couple hates each other before they learn to love each other. I knew they'd be special and Carrie Ann really made them special. It was also nice to see another side to Wes. We only ever see the calm, cool and collected side of him; it was great to see the dirty and sexy side of him. For Jillian we knew very little about her, so I loved getting more details into her life. She went through so much in this book and I was so glad to see her have someone like Wes. Although I'm sad to see the Denver chapter end, I'm really excited about the Colorado Springs Montgomery's. We got to see a little glimpse of them in this book and it made me really excited to see what is to come!

I am so sad to see that this is the last book Carrie will write for the Montgomery Ink folks in Denver. But I can not wait to start digging into the Montgomery clan in other parts of Colorado and get to know the cousins. When the whole family reunion happened in Inked Memories, I almost had the same panic that Jillian did when she was meeting everyone. I LOVED IT! Wes was our final Montgomery that needed his story to be told. When it came to Jilli and Wes it reminded me of how our human side works when you like someone....boy likes girl....boy picks on girl...boy falls in love with girl....You remember those kinds of fighting when you were a kid and had a hard crush. Yeah that is how these two start. Inked Memories is written to perfection. Carrie Ann opens you to a tight knit family. Momma Montgomery loves to adopt the "strays" and keep the family growing. Jilli and Wes have a lot to learn from each other. They work on getting passed that Jilli has history with Storm. There is a lot of drama lurking in the dark. When it springs up on you, your jaw will be dropping and adrenaline pumping! There was also some heartbreak moments where a tear or two will slip. Wes has moves and will say things that will have you swooning (and a bit hot). The sexy scenes that these two have will have the sparks flying! Inked Memories was written perfectly to end this chapter of the Montgomery. Hopefully the brothers and wives will make an appearance from time to time with the other books. One can only hope.

Inked Memories (Montgomery Ink, #8) by Carrie Ann Ryan is an good read. This is a steamy and emotionally charged book. It features the story of Wes and Jillian. Both are familiar characters that have appeared in previous books. This enemies to lovers story is engaging and entertaining. I have to say that I although I enjoyed this book I had issues with this relationship in conjunction with Jillian and Storm's previous relationship. To me it was a line I wouldn't have crossed and was a bit of a turn off for me. Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable read. I am posting an honest review after reading an arc copy of this book..

This was another enjoyable read in Carrie Ann Ryan's series Montgomery Ink. I don't read many contemporary romances because I prefer paranormals, but having read all of Carrie Ann's wolf & witch series already I decided to try out her other series and I must say that I wasn't disappointed. I have only read the first 3 books in this series, and that was a long time ago. This is book 8, as well as the final one. I didn't feel like I was missing anything, this was easily a stand alone book. I actually preferred not having any preconceived opinions about Jillian from the previous books I have missed. She used to be in a 'friends with benefits' relationship with Wes's twin Storm. I admit it could have been a little bit of a 'yuck' factor for me, but since I hadn't read Storm's book I was able to read Wes and Jillian's story rather easily. I guess from the day they met they were at odds with each other and bickered constantly. As we all know who read romance novels, that is really just a form of foreplay. The author did a very good job of making their attraction for each other believable. She covered the awkwardness of Jillian having slept with Wes's twin very well I thought, as well as the couples gradual build up to their relationship, and interaction with Storm and his fiancee. I'm not sure I would have been as comfortable if I was Storm's fiancee, but not having read their book it was hard to make a judgement on their interactions with Jillian, so I found myself just going with it. I really liked Wes and Jillian as a couple. They both had their own hurdles to get over in this story, Wes with his ex-fiancee and Jillian with her dad, but it was told in a very natural flow. The little mystery thrown in was rather predictable, but it did help add a little extra tension to the story, as well as create situations that threw them together more often. As always, Carrie Ann excels in the steamy scenes, so if you are a prude about sex and want it left at the bedroom door, this series isn't for you, heck none of her books are. Having said that I must say that not only was the barn scene extremely high on the steamy factor, and Storm's reaction to that was hysterical, but I liked the switch up she did with Jillian and her toys. I quite enjoyed that scene because it was a nice departure from the usual self pleasuring scenes that authors include in their stories that usually involve the male lead and not the female. So thank you for that refreshing change of pace Carrie. So if you are looking for a steamy contemporary story and aren't familiar with the Montgomery clan, this is a great book to start with even if it's the last in this particular story arc. If anything it just may make you want to go back and read all of the others.

Right from the start you can feel the attraction between Wes and Jillian, and I couldn't wait to see how it played out! It was cute and sweet and sexy and flirty and down right naughty all in one. I loved every bit of this book and look forward to the next Series from Carrie Ann Ryan!

The Montgomery Ink series is full of compelling characters, fiercely alphas and a really good story. Wes Montgomery is the last single one of his family and after a "cat and dog relationship" with his new plumber and his brother's ex-fling Jillian Reid, he maybe has got in his plate more than he can handle it. Wes and Jillian are oil and water... They fight a lot, but somewhere along the way the relationship has turned into attraction and now they must face their feelings for each other. This is a book about lovers that discover each other despite of everything... A really good book that could be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend you discover this series.
