IT'S NEVER TOO LATE
1960s, and the times they are a-changin'. Two hundred years of black suppression has exploded across the county into an unstoppable civil rights movement. In a small town diner in Leesville, Louisiana, four white deputies come across an elderly black couple, local champions of the equality movement. It is no chance encounter. Words are exchanged, their deadly intent clear, but they can't stop the truth from being revealed before gunfire ends it. For fifty years the murder of Alex Crawford's grandparents remains covered up by the three surviving killers. But truth has a way of coming out. A small like is saved, an older one lost, and the why of it is revealed to one of the shooters. God's hard truth shatters a lifetime of prejudice, and the old man is changed forever. He has a new need to make things right, to account for his terrible actions on a dark afternoon. He reaches out to Alex one night and challenges him to hear the truth about his grandparents. After that, the old man says, he's going to turn himself in to face judgment. Alex had best ocme quick, though, because there are others who don't want the truth exposed. And they'll kill to make certain of it.
