About the Author

Cynthia Woolf is the author of six historical western romance books and one short story with more books on the way. She was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in the mountains west of Golden. She spent her early years running wild around the mountain side with her friends.

Their closest neighbor was one quarter of a mile away, so her little brother was her playmate and her best friend. That fierce friendship lasted until his death in 2006.

Cynthia was and is an avid reader. Her mother was a librarian and brought new books home each week. This is where young Cynthia first got the storytelling bug. She wrote her first story at the age of ten. A romance about a little boy she liked at the time.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia’s father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede that is the only similiarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy not a bounty hunter and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now) not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and the great friends she's made at CRW for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

LOVE AND MISERY, a very short story

Jake Anderson is on the run from the law after being falsely accused of murder. His brother Zach is also on the run because he helped Jake to escape. They joins their eldest brother Liam on the journey to Deadwood in the Dakota territory. Becky Finnegan’s life is very difficult, every day she has to go and bring her drunken father Billy back from The Gem where he has once again gambled and drank away all of the gold. She has to lie to Billy in order to save a little of the gold that she mines for supplies and her savings. Billy blames Becky for her mother’s death when she was born. Redeemed by a Rebel by Cynthia Woolf was an excellent read. If you enjoy historical western romances you will definitely enjoy this one. From page one I was immediately immersed in their richly detailed world. I wanted to see Becky succeed in leaving her father behind, for Jake to be a free man and acquitted of the charges against him, for both Becky and Jake to be able to trust and find love. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book in her new Destiny in Deadwood Series.

This book could have been better with some research into the time period and gold mining and a lot more detail. Characters were shallow and hard to like

This is the first book in the Destiny in Deadwood Series. The book captures your attention from the very beginning. Jake and Becky are too injured souls but find acceptance with each other. I just loved the book and cannot wait for the next series book.

Proof reading was better if a little sex bothers you don't read it this is way before our time so yes sex was going on long before our births so people get over it this is back in the late 1870's when things were rough people fell in love back then too this was a fast paced book an looking into getting more from this author

Story had me wanting to read it all. Likeable characters. A little bit of romance thrown in. Not a bad short story with a happy ending. It was free, who can complain. Would like if the next two would have been free as well! One can dream!!!

I have to say this has a lot of potential, but there were way to many spelling and grammar issues. The story seemed kind of rushed, and the ending was never clarified.

Good reading. Everything happened a bit too fast but hard not to in just 120 pages. I liked it.

Enjoyed the story and loved learning what it was like to mine for gold. People certainly had grit and determination ,hard and good times are always much better with love. Would read another book by this author.

Not great but good enough that I wanted to know how it ended and read the whole book. I didn't feel it was even close to "porn" as some reviews called the love scenes
