Meet the Blackthorne men, each one as hot, fast, and smooth as the whiskey that built the family fortune, and the yachts and race cars that bear their name. From proud Scottish stock, Blackthornes never lose. But, one by one, the seven sexy men in this family are about to risk everything when they fall for strong and beautiful women who test their mettle in life...and love.

JASON - Julia London

Jason Blackthorne wants to make films. As head of Blackthorne Entertainment, he's finally getting his break – a gritty cop drama filmed near the family compound. He has a lot riding on the success of the series, both with family and the industry. He doesn't have time to notice how pretty or talented his assistant is. He just needs her to jump when he says jump.

Mallory Price has tried acting, but what she really wants is to be behind the camera. She is a storyteller at heart and she knows she could direct a killer show. She has great ideas, and though Jason seems to hear her, he never sees her as anything but a Girl Friday.

But when an accident on set puts him flat on his back, and a mercurial director goes missing, Mallory steps in. Long nights at work and equal footing create sparks between Jason and Mallory. But when Jason is on his feet once again, and the director returns, has anything really changed between them? Or was it all just a dream?

Julia London is a new author to me and I have no idea why I have not heard or read her before. This is the second in an exciting new series from multiple authors and is Jason and Mallory Price’s book. I was intrigued when I first read about the Blackthorne men and the dynamic surrounding their family and now having read the first two books I am more intrigued than ever. The Blackthornes own a diverse range of businesses and Jason heads up Blackthorne Entertainment; he has trouble keeping assistants as he is disorganized and unfocused. Hiring Mallory to be his latest assistant he has hopes that she will work out. Mallory is efficient and capable and when Jason is injured she takes on the additional workload and performs efficiently. To his surprise she is not only a great assistant but eventually he realizes that she might just be perfect for him as well. The chemistry between Jason and Mallory builds and I loved how the relationship that built between them, particularly since they have both been burned in the past. Can these lost souls come together and embark on a bright future together or are they destined to be alone? The characters were intriguing and there were times that I worried that Jason and Mallory s would not get the happily ever after they deserved. A well written, romantic, sweet and at times passionate read that kept my attention from the start. The characters were strong and I enjoyed Julia London’s style of writing and I was thoroughly entertained throughout my read.

Julia London’s Jason is the second story in the Seven Brides for Seven Blackthornes series. Each brother’s book will be written by a different author and can probably be considered a standalone. The Blackthorne dynasty began with Scottish immigrants and whisky. Now they are a wealthy, prominent family in King Harbor, Maine. Jason Blackthorne’s parents died in plane crash when he was young. He and his siblings went to live with a loving aunt and uncle who already had 4 boys. Now there are 7! Jason learns to grieve and survive as a middle child by falling into all things movies. His love of movies becomes his entry into the film making world and his struggle to make it in a world where making movies comes with troublesome actors, tricky directors, and cinematic decisions that can make or break a project. Jason had to borrow family money bankroll his television production, Bad Intentions. Yes – the family is wealthy but keeping the family image spotless is paramount. Mallory Price’s upbringing couldn’t have been more different. I cringed as I read it. Think hippy parents who allow their children to be free with decisions as long as they accept the consequences of those decisions. Mallory grows up searching for boundaries and rules and goes from trying to create stability for her younger siblings to doing the same to everyone she encounters. Her enthusiasm and passion for everything she does jumps off the page - I loved her. Did I mention she wants to be a director??? Okay, she might also be a little bit OCD in my opinion but Ms. London also created a vulnerability about her that really gets you. The other personality in the room – the television show. I loved the concept for it and I appreciated the way the author provided just the right amount of television jargon and background to make you feel like you learned something about movie making. Five Star rating – I really, really liked it. Despite the wealth and luxury attached to Jason’s family, the wealth doesn’t take over the story. Jason is brilliant but he is disorganized – he needs someone who can keep him on course. Mallory is that person born of chaos– she is trying to maintain balance in her life and organizing everyone she meets along the way. Everyone knows, is related to, or is a Jason or Mallory. That innate ability to relate to these characters made it such a delight to read. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest opinion. My opinions are my own!!

Part of the7 Brides for7 Blackthornes series, Julia London’s “Jason” can definitely stand alone. Mallory seems to be the answer to Jason’s prayers: she keeps him and his production organized, and he needs that after running through many assistants that couldn’t keep up with hfis demands. That sounds bad, but he really is that disorganized. Mallory came to Hollywood and had found she would rather direct than act, all she needs is a break, and a job, and Personal Assistant for a producer could be just the break she needs. If only he would listen to her ideas and give her a chance, and hopefully she can get past the chemistry that is obviously there, and mutual. When what seems to be a ton of bad luck makes Jason see Mallory as more than his assistant, she realizes she has some decisions to make about her personal and professional future. This was a fun, sweet, quick read. I really loved Mallory and Jason, and, together, they are a force that may succeed on all levels, if they give themselves the chance. There is instant chemistry, but the relationship takes longer to develop and deepen. It was a riot watching these two together, and satisfying when Jason realizes that Mallory knows what she is doing professionally. I haven’t read the first in this series, but this is definitely one I am happy I picked up! #7Bridesfor7Blackthornes #JuliaLondon #Jason

ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars Jason is book 2 in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes by Julia London and a part of a series with six other amazing authors! Each is a standalone but has an underlying story that looks to connect to each new book... Jason Blackthorne is head of Blackthorne Entertainment and finally getting the break he needs to make his new cop drama but he is so disorganized and needs an assistant who is the opposite...in comes Mallory Price. She is totally organized, efficient, had great ideas and really wants to be behind the camera. Working together but no letting the sparks ignite is getting harder to ignore...what happens next is funny, lots of chemistry, snarky comments, learning more about the past, family and hopefully a HEA for these two... Can’t wait for the next book in this series...Ross by Lynn Raye Harris.

Jason and Mallory have an interesting adventure on their way to finding love in Jason, the second book, in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series, this one written by Julia London. Jason is the middle child of both the brothers and cousins, allowing him to feel overlooked especially since he was quieter and kept to himself. Escaping to watch movies and television was his coping mechanism to deal with the loss of his parents and feeling as if he didn’t belong. It is easy to see why he wanted to be a successful film/tv producer, instead of joining the family whisky business. Jason is overly disorganized and goes through assistants like some people drink coffee. Mallory is the exact opposite of Jason, a neat freak, possibly OCD, with the need to organize the people she cares for. After being hired Mallory becomes an invaluable asset for Jason and the production of his new tv show, being developed for Netflix. The production has a few problems, causing the filming of Season Two to be in an uproar. First there’s the “ripped from the 'me too' headlines" crisis causing Jason to find a new leading man, while he’s in Maine at his family’s summer home. Then there are all the minefields being established by a prima-donna director who wants out of his contract. He needs help and finds a way to get Mallory out to Maine from LA to help him. Jason and Mallory might pretend their attraction doesn’t exist but their chemistry and magnetism is off the charts. With all that’s going on he’s still her boss which makes it a no-no. Mallory’s life goal is to become a director of film and television. When Jason is injured and the director is MIA, Mallory has a chance to prove her worth. Yet, when the director crisis explodes Jason chooses what’s right for the show over Mallory's career goals, placing their future in doubt. Jason and Mallory are strong, driven characters, sharing a love for anything on film in addition to each other. Ms. London wrote a tale rich with sexual chemistry, humor, tearful moments, and endearing characters giving Jason and Mallory a chance for happiness, love and a future together. I definitely recommend Jason to other readers and look forward to checking out the other books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The only complaint that I have with this book, is it was just too short. Love the Blackthornes! And I’m excited to read the rest of the series. The characters were really likable … I hope to run into them more throughout the series. Love Julia London’s contemporary books so much!

7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes Book Two. Mallory Price is struggling to break into the film world as a director when the perfect opportunity is dropped in her lap. She goes in to interview for the position of assistant to the owner of Blackthorne Entertainment, Jason Blackthorne. Only her roommate's warning tells Mallory that Jason might not be the best person to work for. Mallory finds that he is messy and extremely distractable. That works for her, because she cleans up after everyone else already. However, when Jason calls her at 3:30 in the morning on her vacation to summon her to his summer home immediately, she almost loses it. If you're looking for a short story with drama, behind-the-scenes cinematic info and a spitfire working with a total spaz, this is the book for you!

The Blackthornes are famous for their whiskey and for their business acumen. Jason is head of Blackthorne Entertainment. He wants to make movies but he's overwhelmed by the details. He can't keep an assistant because he's too disorganized. When he hires Mallory Price, he finds that she's perfect for the job and for him. Do the have a future? Mallory is a jewel. She's on top of everything. I just wish that Jason didn't take advantage of her. I had to laugh at her snarky retorts when he oversteps. I felt the chemistry between them. It's both romantic and sweet. When Jason and Mallory shared their past, it made it easier to understand their motivation. Also, I enjoyed when the story focused on the movie making. The drama and the egos Jason and Mallory had to deal with pulled me in. I could understand their frustration. I wanted a HEA but I wasn't sure it would happen. Circumstances were stacked against them. Julia London kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm enjoying the series. Who knows who will find love next. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

I received an ARC of this book to read in exchange for a fair review. Jason by Julia London is the second book in the multi-author series 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes. This is the 3rd such series the authors have done and they are very enjoyable reads. The books are what I would describe as novella length and one will be released each week with the first one on August 1, 2019 and this one on August 8, 2019 with the other 5 following weekly. Jason is the story of Jason Blackthorne the middle child who devastated by the deaths of his parents turned to movies as a way of coping with his grief. He feels a good deal of pressure to succeed as a film maker and to prove himself to his family. Mallory Price is Jasons assistant she was an unsuccessful actress and now makes short films for competitions hoping to become a director and filmmaker in her own right, her mad organizational skills are keeping Jason on track and neither of them will allow that pesky attraction they feel to keep their relationship anything less than perfectly professional until all hell breaks loose with the show they are producing for Netflix. Julia London never writes these two as anything less than equals and I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest of the series. #JuliaLondon #JasonBlackthorne #7Brides #BlackthornBrothers #HollywoodRomanceNovel #7bridesfor7blackthornes #Bookstagram

This is the second book in a series about seven brothers in the Blackthorne family. I love that each story is written by a different author. It keeps the stories interesting and it’s a great way to discover new authors. This book is about Jason, the middle brother of the family. He hires Mallory as his assistant. He’s disorganized and messy. She is the exact opposite and what he needs to get his tv series production company running smoothly. Together they try to tackle the problems that arise on set and their feelings for each other. There’s an ongoing backstory about the main family that runs through both stories. I’m thinking we’ll read more of that with each additional story. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest in the series.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION, spells trouble for two ambitious filmmakers. Jason and Mallory set off sparks behind the scenes. He has much the family name riding on his latest venture. She wants the chance to get her feet wet. When behind the scenes drama gives way to an unpredictable attraction, it's anyone's guess the way things will go. Watch this slow flame become an inferno. London heats it up with an entertaining, firecracker that proves itself hard to resist.
