‘Ah, yes! Jennings – as usual – it always is’ When Jennings starts the second half of the Christmas term by accidentally setting his rubber on fire, it seems the residents of Linbury Court are going to have an exciting few weeks. Along with High Fidelity Telephonic Communication (or two tins and a piece of string), the Affair of the Assistant Masterpiece and Jennings suddenly becoming a musical prodigy, Old Wilkie is definitely not going to get the peace and quiet he was hoping for. ‘Mouldy chizz!’
About the Author
Born in 1912, Anthony Buckeridge was sent to boarding school in Sussex at the age of eight. He went on to university before working as a tutor in a preparatory school, and later became a fireman during the Second World War.
Buckeridge was the first writer to use prep schools as a setting for his stories and, as such, is the creator of the infamous Jennings. The ‘Jennings’ titles have sold over six million books worldwide.
