So very average. One of the few exceptions where the movie far exceeds the book. Although not great, it was okay up until the police investigation when it really went to pot. The dialogue was dripping in police cliches. This book was average at best.

eh just so so for me. I found the whole concept kind of out there, but if you swallow it...it is sweet and gentle.

If only I could give the book more stars, I would. Where to begin? I absolutely loved the book from start to finish. It's such a quick novel to read. I wonder if possible the author should write a sequel. He did such an excellent job writing this book. I can't wait to watch the movie. I found it sweet how Arthur began caring for Lauren's ghost. He at first was shocked to find her in his closet. It was wonderful for Lauren's ghost to find someone to talk to and see her.(Esp. when being cooped up in the closet.) Even though I wasn't Arthur's tender young age when he lost his mother to cancer. I do know how it feels to lose a parent. I lost my mother 2 years ago to Diabetes. As I continued to read the book, I knew what Arthur was going through and what he felt towards his mother. Poor Arthur opening up all those wounds all over again. Reminiscing the memories he had with his mother. Slowly he starts to open up to Lauren about his past. Ugh! That was so sweet of him. I loved it! I loved everything about the book. It felt so real like you're in San Francisco, standing on the sidelines as the book unravels page by page.

I listened to this book on audio tape years ago when I walked for exercise....it had me laughing out loud (to the surprised stares of other walkers). The dialog between the main character and his friend was some of the funniest stuff I've ever read. Just heard about the movie coming out on DVD and it sounded so familiar .....hope the movie doesn't disappoint or ruin what was a most unique, well-written, piercingly effective, hilarious novel.

This Book is the best book I have read so far. Marc Levy descriptions are full of magic That takes a reader to a new place. This book made me laugh, cry and scared. This book has also a very important lesson about life, which is that life is short and we have to take every second to make it the best we can.

Wanted to read it before the movie came out. Finished it in one day. I can't wait to see the movie, though I think I will be disappointed by the movie. A great book for a rainy day when you can finish the whole thing.A page turner.

I read this book a couple of years ago and when I saw the previews for the movie I couldn't understand why it sounded so familar. The original book is 'If It Were Only True'. It is a heart felt book, that makes you realize that love comes in all different packages. I really enjoyed this book it made me laugh at certain moments and cry in others.

I'm one of those people who likes to read the book before the movie comes out, so I decided to get this book. I was disappointed, the author focused more on dialoge versus emotions and thoughts of characters. It lacked lots feeling...but the book had a great concept...

I just bought this book! I love it! It's one of my favorites now! I was a little shocked when I read the back, because my name is Lauren. Definetly recommeded.
