we just loved this book! i hate to admit i was attracted to the cover but my kids and I can relate to all the "just one more's" and loved the little Ruby character. the nice/naughty innocence keeps it light and i like how ruby is somewhat satisfied with just one. the ending is the best for moms, but i won't spoil it.
The book is profound if you listen, and every time I read it to my kids it nearly brings me to tears. Every parent that lives life in a rush needs to read this, and heck if your 2 year old can't tell you the meaning of life. I have 2 little boys by the way, and we love this beautiful story. - A dad :)
Who can’t relate to a young child wanting “just one more” of something? Or everything, for that matter! That seems to be sweet Ruby’s mantra - one more of this and one more of that. But sometimes a little bit goes a long way, and one is just enough. Or is it? Jennifer’s Rolli’s illustrations and color palette are beautiful (I dare you to look into Ruby’s eyes and not feel her emotions!), and her simple text convey a story relatable to many young children and their caregivers. Now, I don’t know about you, but sometimes one is not enough, especially when it comes to books! This one sure made it to my shelf in a hurry.
My 2-year-old daughter really enjoys this book. She's been reading it since before her last birthday. The book is a good pace and keeps her interest. The main character is fun and the artwork is colorful.
