Keep Her Safe: A Novel by K.A. Tucker

Making a Murderer meets Scandal in this story of police corruption, family secrets, and illicit affairs from bestselling author K.A. Tucker, celebrated for her “propulsive plot twists and searing seduction” (USA TODAY).

Noah Marshall has known a privileged and comfortable life thanks to his mother, the highly decorated chief of the Austin Police Department. But all that changes the night she reveals a skeleton that's been rattling in her closet for years, and succumbs to the guilt of destroying an innocent family's life. Reeling with grief, Noah is forced to carry the burden of this shocking secret.

Gracie Richards wasn't born in a trailer park, but after fourteen years of learning how to survive in The Hollow, it's all she knows anymore. At least here people don't care that her dad was a corrupt Austin cop, murdered in a drug deal gone wrong. Here, she and her mother are just another family struggling to survive...until a man who clearly doesn't belong shows up on her doorstep.

Despite their differences, Noah and Gracie are searching for answers to the same questions, and together, they set out to uncover the truth about the Austin Police Department's dark and messy past. But the scandal that emerges is bigger than they bargained for, and goes far higher up than they ever imagined.

Complex, gritty, sexy, and thrilling, Keep Her Safe solidifies K.A. Tucker's reputation as one of today's most talented new voices in romantic suspense.

PROLOGUE

Corporal Jackie Marshall

June 1997

“There’s gotta be a pound in each.” Abe nudges the ziplock bag of marijuana with the tip of his pen. The kitchen table is shrouded in these bags, along with bundles of cash. I’m going to take a wild guess and say there’s plenty more, hidden around this dive of an apartment.

I peer over at the guy we just busted, handcuffed and lying on his stomach, under another officer’s watchful eye, waiting to be transported for booking. He’s a scrawny nineteen-year-old with a temper. “Don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t be beatin’ on my girlfriend if I had all these drugs in my house.” His neighbors heard glass smashing and him making threats of death, so they called 9-1-1. He gave us cause to kick in the door when he uttered a string of racial slurs and then spat in Abe’s face. That’s how we found the bloodied blonde girl and this.

Now the paramedics are treating the gashes on her face, while we wait for Narcotics to swoop in.

Abe smooths his ebony-skinned hand over his cheek. “What do you think this is worth, anyway?”

“Depends how good it is. Ten grand? Maybe twenty?”

He lets out a low whistle. “I’m in the wrong business.”

“You and me both. We bounced our mortgage payment last month.” Blair told me we couldn’t afford that house. I ought to have listened to him. But I also hadn’t planned on getting pregnant when I did. Not that I regret having Noah. I just expected to have earned a few stripes before I was elbow-deep in diapers and formula.

“Don’t worry, you’ll be making the big bucks soon enough, Sergeant Marshall,” Abe mocks with a dimpled grin. He’s been calling me that for months, ever since I passed my test and was put on the promotion list. “Just don’t go forgetting about us beat cops when you start pinning those stars to your collar.”

“You’re ridiculous.” I roll my eyes at him.

“Am I? You are one damn ambitious woman, Jackie, and my money’s on you over half the clowns around here, present company included.” He sighs. “My days won’t be the same, though.”

“I’m gonna miss being your partner, Abe.” After seven years, there’s no one else I trust more in the APD—and in life—than Abe Wilkes.

He lets out a derisive snort. “Don’t worry, you’ll see me plenty enough. Heck, Noah’ll probably be at my house more than yours.”

“Dina’s managing alright, what with a baby of her own? Don’t want Noah to be a burden on her.”

Abe waves off my concern. “Dina’ll steal that kid away from you if you’re not watching. She insisted.”

I can’t be sure if it was Dina or Abe who offered to mind Noah while Blair and I work. I’ve never seen a grown man dote on a little boy as much as Abe dotes on mine. Even Blair doesn’t pay that much attention, and Noah’s his son. “That beautiful wife of yours is a blessing. I wish you’d have knocked her up and gotten married years ago. Would have saved me a ton on daycare bills.”

Abe struggles to keep that booming chuckle of his at bay—it wouldn’t be appropriate given current surroundings. “I’d say we’re movin’ plenty fast, don’t you?”

Pregnant three months into dating and married at City Hall the week after finding out? I’d say so. “Your mom come around yet?” A good Christian woman like Abe’s mother was less than pleased when she found out her twenty-eight-year-old son had knocked up an eighteen-year-old girl. An eighteen-year-old white girl. I’ve met Carmel Wilkes. I don’t believe she has an issue with Dina, per se; she’s more worried about other people taking issue with Dina and Abe together, and the problems that may arise. As progressive as Austin is, there’s still plenty of hate to go around when it comes to the color of a person’s skin.

Abe shrugs. “Slowly but surely.”

“I’ll bet that gorgeous little Gracie is helping.”

It’s inevitable, the second anyone says his daughter’s name, that Abe’s face splits open with a wide grin. He’s about to say something—probably tell another story about how cute she is—when our radios crackle with voices.

“The cavalry’s here.” I pat my stomach. “Good thing, too. I’m starving. Let’s get this lowlife booked and then get some food.”

“Hey . . .” Abe lowers his voice to a whisper. “I wonder, how honest do you think these narc guys are?”

“Honest enough. Why?”

His chocolate-brown eyes roll over the bundles of cash. “Wouldn’t it be easy for one of those to go missing?”

It’s a question you don’t pose, especially not while you’re in uniform and standing in front of a pile of drugs. “Pretty dang easy, I’ll bet.”

Reading Group Guide

This reading group guide for Keep Her Safe includes discussion questions and ideas for enhancing your book club. The suggested questions are intended to help your reading group find new and interesting angles and topics for your discussion. We hope that these ideas will enrich your conversation and increase your enjoyment of the book.

Topics & Questions for Discussion

1. Who do you think “her” refers to in the novel’s title, Keep Her Safe? Why might K.A. Tucker have chosen this title?

2. Which characters were you initially suspicious of while reading? What led you to be suspicious of them? Did they end up being guilty of what you thought they were?

3. Soon after arriving in Austin, Gracie wonders “What would my life have been like, had my father not died? Would I have grown up in a quiet suburb with gardens and trees?” (p. 210). In what ways do you think Gracie was shaped by the circumstances in which she grew up? Have you ever visited somewhere your parents had lived and wondered who you would be if they’d raised you there?

4. Several characters find themselves, at one point or another, torn between two ideals: loyalty to family or their moral integrity. Discuss how this tension plays out in Abe, Dina, Jackie, and Noah’s storylines. What similarities and differences do you see in how they handle these conflicting principles?

5. Everyone who knew Abe agrees that it would have been completely out of character for him to abuse his power. However, as we see from the end of Keep Her Safe, sometimes people we trust deeply are capable of unimaginable things. In your own life, how do you decide when to trust an accusation of wrongdoing and when to have faith in your existing sense of someone and give them the benefit of the doubt? What do you think it would take for you to believe a close friend or family member had committed a horrific crime?

6. Early on, Gracie finds Noah’s Southern mannerisms patronizing (albeit charming), but ultimately comes to appreciate his protectiveness and politeness. Do you wish men were more chivalrous like Noah, or do you find that attitude frustrating, as Gracie does initially?

7. Canning makes the case that letting a scandal get out would undo “all the goodwill [the police] work hard to build in the community . . . buried under a thick layer of public distrust, thanks to one dirty cop” (p. 355). However, covering up misconduct risks more of the police force being implicated, potentially leading to even more negative public opinions. Is there anything that police officers can do to hold bad cops accountable, without incidentally burning the bridges they have worked to build to the wider community? What would have been the best way forward in this situation—and what consequences couldn’t have been avoided?

8. When Gracie asks Noah if they’d be friends if her father hadn’t died, he replies that he’d “probably be like an older brother” (p. 398) to her. Do you agree? Would they have been too much like siblings to have a romantic connection, or would a spark have grown between them even if they had been close their whole lives?

9. What do you think Noah will do after the novel ends? Will he return to his job at the DA’s office? If not, what will he pursue instead? Will he continue to live in Austin? Will he and Gracie stay together long-term?

10. On page 390, Noah remarks that Gracie and Dina will always be family, “even if Gracie kicks me to the curb one day.” Do you think their relationship could withstand a romantic breakup? Are you still friends with any of your exes?

Enhance Your Book Club

1. Bring some Southern comfort to your book club—have group members bring dishes like cornbread, barbeque chicken or ribs, collard greens or coleslaw, and come dressed in your best Texan-inspired style, whether it’s wearing the largest belt buckle you can find, cowboy boots, or cactus-print clothing.

2. Both Gracie and Noah’s mothers turn to substance abuse to deal with guilt, difficult emotions, and traumatic memories, and Dina’s addiction nearly causes her family to become homeless. Consider volunteering with your book club at a local homeless shelter, rehabilitation center, or addiction support organization. You can search for an organization near you using www.volunteermatch.org.

3. Consider reading one of K.A. Tucker’s other page-turning novels for your next book club meeting. Save your money. This author writes like a juvenile...…..poor character development, loose plot, lots of F bombs and S bombs and profanity. Read Harry Kraus, Randy Singer, or any Michael Bennet books by James Patterson.

ADD THIS TO YOUR TBR PILE!!! Go ahead and get this book and pass it around because I am sure this book will appeal to a multitude of readers! My library classified it as a romance but I would say it’s more of a mystery and a dang good one at that! The story grabs you immediately and doesn’t let go until the very last sentence. Character development is superb and by characters, I mean every single one; a southern gentleman, a capable heroine, a sassy 90 year old señorita, and a one eyed chihuahua to name a few. The light that it sheds on the dark world of human trafficking is inspiring and the depiction of the grooming process in trafficking is tragically accurate. #themrs

Holy twists and turns Batman. Keep Her Safe kept me on my toes. This was an engaging and addictive read and K.A. Tucker did it again. Keep Her Safe is the kind of book where all along it seems as if it’s going to be a relatively straight forward answer, until it slams you in the face and goes a way you never expected. The book made me audibly gasp and really took me by surprise. And even when I thought I had finally nailed everything down, the book smacked me in the face once again. I will admit that it took me a bit to get into, but once I got hooked there was no stopping me from finishing. And as I write this review super late at night, I don’t see myself regretting the loss of sleep tomorrow. Noah and Gracie are both great characters and I loved that their romance wasn’t the main story, but a side story where the angst is left behind. It made me love them even more for finding something in such a crazy and unhappy situation. Noah is just a good guy and I adored him. It helps that he is super charming too. And Grace is just awesome. She is determined and headstrong and she will not back down. This book is a bit different from the other K.A. Tucker books I’ve read, but I really liked this direction. It doesn’t give you that happy all neat and tidy with a bow ending, but a realistic one and I think that makes the book stronger. This book deals with some tough issues and it’s not always an easy read, but sometimes those are the best books. Keep Her Safe was addictive and the ending really took me by surprise. It was a great plot with great characters and some romance to make you smile. It’s not one to miss.

When I read K.A. Tucker’s He Will be My Ruin, I was impressed and over the moon that she gave us such an amazing romantic suspense to think about and ponder over for days. But when I dove into Keep Her Safe, I was left speechless and utterly blown away. I already love the way she writes and presents her stories, but this... this is her own brand of mystery and suspense. It’s written with a flair of her sweet, heart-melting side, with a touch of humor, impeccably blended with twists and turns and a whole lot of secrets and deception. It was quite an adrenaline rush—Noah and Gracie’s journey had me constantly on edge, my emotions in a jumbled mess and my head about to explode from everything going on. If that wasn’t a gripping, overly intriguing and captivating first chapter, I don’t know what is. Right when I passed those pages, I knew I’d be wrapped up in this story, eating up every crumb that’s left to be able to connect the dots and conjure up my own theories. It’s definitely a breath of fresh air—one that has a different pace and feel compared to the other reads I’ve had lately. I think that’s another thing that truly captured my interest with this book—I knew it will be different. It made my heart race for so many reasons, but I’m definitely all for the mind-numbing ride this book dragged me into. Keep Her Safe is one of those books that will take you on a mystery-filled journey that you won’t be able to get enough of until you reach that very last page. It will keep you intrigued and engrossed in what you’re reading the farther you get into the story, and the more things unravel. Brilliantly concocted and flawlessly written, K.A. Tucker will surely take you on a thrilling and nail-biting rollercoaster ride with her newest romantic suspense.

★★ 4.5 stars! ★★ Keep Her Safe combines all of the elements I have loved in KA Tucker's previous books—the who-dunnit murder mystery from He Will Be My Ruin, a kickass and prickly heroine like Ivy in Surviving Ice, and a strong and sweet hero like River from Chasing River. Throw in some slow-burning chemistry, a buried family secret or two, and a mangy mutt, and you have yourself a winner! Noah comes from a family of lawyers and law enforcement. Growing up, he was loved dearly by his mother and had a surrogate father in her police partner, Abe. That all changes the night Abe is killed by a drug dealer and it’s revealed that Abe wasn’t the honorable man everyone thought he was. Turns out, neither was Noah's mother. Life also changed in an instant for Gracie. Not only was her father taken from her at a young age, she grew up with an absentee mother who uprooted them shortly after her father’s death. Gracie didn’t have an ideal upbringing, but she’s learned how to look out for herself and her mother. When Noah shows up on her doorstep bearing a gift from his late mother, he dredges up old memories and partial truths and takes them on a life-altering adventure into the past. Gracie and Noah make a great team and I loved seeing them grow close while learning to trust and open up to one another. Noah is sweet and polite, while Gracie is stubborn and hot-headed, so they really complemented each other well. They’re survivors who didn’t let the tragedies of their past hold them down. I truly love KA Tucker’s style of mystery and suspense. She delivers a unique and heart-pounding tale of lies and deception while tempering it with moments of young love and humor. There are twists and turns that I didn’t expect, and I love it when a book can keep me on my toes. If you’re in the mood for a story that you can’t put down until the very last secret is revealed, be sure to give this one a go!

Okay, I'll try to do this without giving too much away. I loved Noah. He is independent, caring, and tries his hardest to do what's right. His lifestyle is much better than what Gracie is accustomed to, but it is not without its problems. I could see his struggle with wanting to protect his mom and also between doing the right thing. Once he meets Gracie. They don't exactly hit it off. They clashed because of their differences, but they ultimately learned to work together. Grace AKA Gracie, lives in a trailer park in a bad area of town with a mom who is addicted to drugs and a dad who was murdered and labeled as a bad cop. But she feels like her situation is only temporary. She is extremely hard-working and stubborn and beautiful and is very determined to make a better life for herself. Once Noah enters the picture things start to change for her. She doesn't immediately trust him, but if she wants to find out the truth about her father then Noah is just about her only option. Everything isn't so black and white. And it’s hard to tell who they can trust and who they can't. I’ve read a handful of K.A. Tucker’s books and I have to say, this one is my favorite to date. Keep Her Safe grabbed my interest within the first two chapters. The story was well paced and I never once felt confused or that I was getting an overabundance of information thrown at me. The characters were nicely developed and it was easy to connect with them. Mystery/Suspense novels are my jam and this one was good. Everything wasn’t easy to guess or figure out. LOVE. THAT. And if I thought I knew something, I didn’t know all of the details. If you’re a fan of Romantic Suspense stories or K.A. Tucker’s writing in general, then I would recommend you pick this one up. **Even though I received this book on behalf of the Publisher, the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.**

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Keep Her Safe will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end. Noah’s life changes in an instant. But what lies beneath the surface is the truth, and it’s up to him to find it. He’s thrust into a world he doesn’t understand or in a way he doesn’t want to believe. Seriously, is there anything that Tucker can’t write? She made this thrilling, suspenseful story that had so many twists and so many turns. I wasn’t even sure what was going to happen until the end. It’s an example of brilliant storytelling. I love when I can’t guess what will happen. In this review, I won’t be telling you what happens. Just telling you that you have to read it. I couldn’t put it down. I give this obviously, Five Boundless Stars and more if I could

e-Arc received from NetGalley for free but in no way influences my review. K.A. Tucker does it again! Keep Her Safe is a wonderful romantic suspense. I love that there was a slow build between the two characters as opposed to them jumping into a relationship. The twists and turns were well done. I had my suspicions in the beginning, and while they were right the story still fleshed out well and the big a-ha moment is not what I had expected it to be. I love that Grace was a flawed character. She wasn't some over the top pretty, has everything kind of heroine. She was feisty and strong. Noah was charismatic, caring, and I love that he was so willing to help Grace get to the truth, even if it compromised his family.

The paths in life that force us to change aren’t always the easiest road to travel. For Noah Marshall – life slowly unraveled over the years for his family. With a mother who was the police chief of Austin, Noah knew all too well how someone suffers when the shadows of your past come home with you. Those demons led Jackie to take her own life. Something that was very unexpected. Before Jackie left this world, she mentioned some things that Noah just can’t get out of his mind. Now Noah is reliving a moment in his family’s history that forever changed their family dynamic. A past that was intertwined with Gracie and her family. Gracie’s dad was also a cop. A man dedicated to helping his community and living the with honor behind his badge. Until his death changed it all. A death that forever became tainted with greed and corruption. A reality that changed how and where Gracie lived. As Noah heads to find Gracie, he discovers her life is a far cry from his own. The trailer park in The Hollow is nothing like Noah expected. Survival was the name of the ‘game’ and Gracie has managed to hang on by a thread. As Noah and Gracie begin to spend more time together, they both quickly discover that there are more secrets about the past than meets the eye. Danger is swirling from all directions, but Noah and Gracie discover that they have a bond that just cannot be ignored. Will they still feel the same when the truth threatens to destroy one of them? Are you ready for it? Keep Her Safe is a mystery and romance rolled up in one suspenseful read. The twists and turns to this tale of corruption and greed kept me hooked from the very first chapter. You will second guess yourself as you uncover the layers to the past, and still find yourself glued to the pages of this engaging novel. While I did unravel the mystery, it did not distract from the overall plot for me! Yes….the mystery was that good!! While I love the suspenseful elements of this tale, the romantic relationship between Gracie and Noah was also a focal point. Noah showed so much dedication and commitment that you couldn’t help but fall in love with his character. A true gentleman with a heart of gold. Gracie was the pillar of strength when circumstances and individuals failed her time and again. Together they made the most amazing couple even though life was against them in every way. KA Tucker has stepped outside of her ‘norm’ with Keep Her Safe. A bit more of a suspenseful read that the author generally delves into. While the romance took a back seat in this novel, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see more suspenseful reads in the author’s collection!!!

Do you ever find yourself wanting to yell at characters while reading and then reminding yourself that they don’t know they’re characters in a mystery novel? Therefore, they are not as highly attuned to the danger you know they’re in. But still, I’ll want to argue with myself, they should know better. If you find out someone you love was killed because they threatened to expose a dirty cop, you should probably keep your cards close to your chest. I’d remind myself: Noah and Gracie are young. They don’t know better! But I still wanted to yell at them. You might read that and think I didn’t have a good reading experience as a result but it was the exact opposite. I wanted to yell because I LOVED these characters. I wanted to prevent them from coming to harm. Noah and Gracie are the reason to read this novel. They are well developed characters and I loved the growth that happens in this novel. Their lives used to be closely connected when they were young but Gracie and her mom left Austin when she was little after her dad Abe was killed and exposed as a dirty cop. She has few memories of her dad and even fewer of Noah and his mom Jackie. I don’t want to say more about the plot because you need to experience it for yourself. The word that kept coming to mind as I read was complicity. Good people are complicit when they see evil and do not act. Whether it’s the events that led to Abe’s death or the current circumstances of uncovering the truth, people have the option to avert their gaze or do the right thing and share what they know. Maybe they didn’t pull the trigger but many people were ultimately responsible for Abe’s death. This becomes Noah’s test as well. Does he keep his mouth shut about his mom's drunken ramblings or does he track down Gracie and try to learn the truth? I can’t imagine learning this kind of thing about your family and having to figure out the right thing to do. But he does. Not always perfectly but he does keep choosing to learn the truth and give Gracie and her mother closure. This story opens up a lot of questions related to power dynamics and racism. I thought these aspects were handled really well. Although I’m more cynical when it comes to “a few rotten apples,” it can be hard for a story about police corruption to also show respect for the good men and women in blue and I think the author managed to do it. Noah and Gracie’s relationship was the best part. I loved watching them slowly connect and become closer. The romance was developed so well and I could not get enough of their burgeoning feelings for each other. It would have been stronger without the additional POVs, as their voices weren’t as compelling as Noah and Gracie’s. The chapters yanked me out of the story. I wanted to experience these characters through the people who loved them, not relive the days leading up to Abe’s death. I figured out what happened fairly early on but seeing it come together was still a satisfying experience, maybe in part because I didn’t want to be right about certain aspects. The ending was refreshing. The story may not have surprised me but I really enjoyed my reading experience. Sensitive readers will want to know this story has the following trigger: suicide. Disclosure: I received an advance copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Tucker did it again! Her ability to constantly break the mold with her plots, her characters, and her words. I never know what to expect when I pick up any of her books. Every last one is different from the rest and completely unique. I was riveted from start to finish. This story is as much suspenseful as it is sweet and redeeming. As the plot gets deeper and deeper, the secrets left to be buried start to surface, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Along with the mystery and suspense of this story, there is the side plot of a romance simmering. I loved it. I loved that as things start to get dangerous, Noah and Gracie start to find themselves fighting to not let fate take over. All in all, Tucker hit it home with her unique story telling and complex characters. I could not have asked for a better story.

***4 Stars*** Having thoroughly enjoyed Until It Fades, my first and only read by the author (I am working at getting to the ones on my TBR, I promise), I was more than ready to dive into another book of hers and when I saw the cover to Keep Her Safe (which is absolutely beautiful) and found out it was romantic suspense, I knew I’d find a way to get my hands on it in one way or another and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I didn’t devour it, it wasn’t that kind of read for me, it was more of a...let me put this down so I can digest what I just read and see if I can put a few pieces together and then get back to it kind of read, because I ALWAYS went back to it. I loved how each piece of the puzzle was presented, worked out and then put together in the end and though Noah and Gracie drove me just a little cray cray, I ended up loving them in the end. Noah and Gracie are two sides of a coin. One doesn’t trust easily while the other does and both had a tendency to take things to the extreme. There were quite a few times when I wanted to yell at them both for their actions (but didn’t because doing that at work would make me look crazier than my co-workers already think I am) but I understood why. They are products of their upbringing and it has colored their view of the world around them. Both are stubborn in their own ways and yet have good hearts that only want the truth to come out, even if it destroys them. Their romance is a slow burning one especially since the one link they have is a tenuous one. Trust takes a while to build between them, but as they work together towards finding the truth behind what happened to Gracie’s dad, they become more than just co-amatuer detectives, they become friends, allies and more and I really liked where they were at in their relationship when everything was said and done. As I said in the beginning, I didn’t devour Keep Her Safe. I did put it down, but it was so I could process everything that the author was throwing our way, especially in the beginning. The crumbs did exactly what they were meant to, be bait and I was hooked. I kept looking at everything and everyone as a suspect and tried to see how it all could fit together. I did put a few of the pieces together before they were explained, but there were a few that surprised me and yet it all made perfect sense in the end. Keep Her Safe was another hit for me. The characters were well written and I enjoyed the multiple 1st person POV’s and what they brought to the story. I also liked how everything felt real from the motives behind each characters actions and reactions, to how everything played out in the end. So, if you like a good slow burn romantic suspense whose conclusion will leave you satisfied, then pick this one up! ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

Noah Marshall has just been blindsided by his mother, she just admitted to him that her road to becoming the police chief wasn't always on the up and up and that she has done some shameful things to rise to the top... things that left the lives of good people completely in ruins. Now he is left wondering what parts of her life are actually true, who around him can be trusted, and after he finds a duffel bag full of cash that is tied to his childhood best friend he decides he needs to find her to find the truth. He's hoping Grace can give him the answers he needs... little does he know their visit after all these years could also bring him so much more! Grace Richards life hasn't turned out quite the way she thought it would, especially when she looks back at what it use to be before her father screwed everything up, she was once happy and safe, now she is constantly looking over her shoulder expecting there to be trouble waiting for her and her mother. Her mother a fighting a losing battle with addiction, she is constantly concerned about their personal safety, and constantly wondering where their next meal will come from, and she hates every damn minute of it. If only things could be different for her... Keep Her Safe is an engrossing tale riddled with suspense, secrets, and twists and turns that are sure to keep you flipping the pages in search of answers!! Wow what a read, this one totally took me by surprise, I was expecting Ms. Tucker's usual literary m.o., but she totally amped up her game and offered up a romantic suspense read that is certain to knock readers sock off! She has previously won me over with her heartfelt emotional reads, and now she has me sitting up and taking notice with this current suspenseful offering, I think it is safe to say she has found her niche in the suspense category too. I thoroughly enjoyed following Noah and Grace along their journey, they kept me captivated from start to finish!! Highly recommend!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
