Kill Shot by Lani Lynn Vale

Bennett had the world in the palm of his hands when he was sixteen, then he allowed his dick to do the thinking for him.

That one night changed him forever, giving him a child that would forever alter his life, and an ex that was a crazy nut case on the best of days.

With the help of his parents, he went into the Navy, becoming the SEAL he always wanted to be. However, with that came a price, a price he wasn't willing to pay anymore once his little girl started to realize why he wasn't there. So he came home and joined the local SWAT team, starting his life anew, just his daughter and him.

Then he meets the cute little physician's assistant that looks down upon him like one would an annoying fly, and he finally realizes just what he's been missing. Something that takes his mind off of the challenge of everyday life. Someone that dares him to be a better father and cop.

And Lennox is one hell of a motivator.

Their relationship starts off rocky as the two of them circle each other like opponents ready to do combat rather than two civil adults. Every day brings a new battle for the two of them to overcome, and before they realize it, they'll be fighting for each other instead of against each other.

Because there's one woman who doesn't want either one of them to be happy...especially not together.

A great read. Plenty of drama and nookie, a bit of heartache and a wonderful hea. One story line that has run through the series comes to a very satisfying end. This book can be read as a stand-a-lone but I recommend reading the series for the the most enjoyment. You'll be glad you did! cjbevil

This is such a great book! Bennett & Lennox are such a cute couple; his all big, hot and sexy and her a tiny little thing with lots of courage and humor. This is such a great series! Definitely recommend this series (Code 11 - KPD Swat) and the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC; the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series needs to be read first followed by this series. Lani Lynn Vale does such a great job on both of their series.

Sigh…. Another book crush. Bennett is strong, sexy, and so alpha male. While he isn’t perfect, but what fun is perfect, he is as close as you can get. He protects what is his, loves with his whole heart, and tells it how it is. Yet, he keeps his heart close and sometimes pushes away those he loves the most thinking he is keeping them safe. Luckily Lennox is strong enough to push through his barriers. Lennox is living her life in fear. She fears her stalker and her feelings. She has been hurt so many times that she cannot trust anyone. Then she meets big tough Bennett. Everything changes. She fights these changes yet her heart wins out. While I never like to see anyone struggle, Lennox’s struggles were entertaining. They were struggles of the heart. Watching her barriers go down and her letting people in was one of the best parts of the book. Lennox and Bennett’s relationship was the main storyline, but the other storylines were the perfect compliment. The stalker storyline was interesting. The way that the stalker was brought into the story and the relationships they had with both main characters was perfect. It pulled the two together and tied them up. I love Reagan, Bennett’s daughter. The respect that was given to her feelings about another woman being in her dad’s life showed how much thought Lani Lynn Vale gives to all the characters in her book. There were no characters left behind. Each one was given a part in the story. This is the 6th book in the Code 11-KPD Swat series. While each can be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading them all. The characters can be found in each book, but each book tells the individual story of the main characters.

4.5 star The story has laughs, pain, murder, secrets, suspense, love, and heartbreak. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Center Mass (Code 11-KPD Swat) Double Tap (Code 11- KPD SWAT #2) Bang Switch (Code 11-KPD Swat #3) Execution Style (Code 11-KPD Swat #4) Charlie Foxtrot (Code 11-KPD Swat #5) This is Lennox and Bennett’s story. Lennox and Bennett meet and have a few interesting encounters. What pulls them together is that Lennox and Bennett are both a little crazy and funny as hell. The more they see each other the more they are drawn together. They have both been burnt in the past so it takes them time to trust. Misunderstandings and there past just might be the thing to keep them apart. Will they be able to handle the crazy that ensues? One stalker and one crazy ex are about to bring them both down. When it comes down to it will there past collide and leave a tragedy in its wake? Or will that tragedy be then thing that brings them back together? I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
