this series! The characters are fun, the stories are amusing, intriguing and at times funny. Love that the stories aren't intense, bloody and caveman-ish.

I really enjoyed these 3 books and as soon as I finish this review I'm buying the box set with books 4-6 in it.Let me tell you why I liked these books. 1-Victoria (the heroine) didn't take one look at Darien (the hero) and fall in bed with him. There was no instant reciprocated lust/love that led to endless redundant sex that sometimes feels so stupid to me. This book has a plot and Victoria and Darien actually get to know each other and (gasp) don't even sleep together until the 2nd book! Also the sex isn't detailed, which you may or may not like.2-The mystery and suspence revolve around the main characters. I really liked this for a change from end of the world scenarios. 3-I loved Zak (a furry tentacled fairy that changed into ; a shiz tsu, a hellhound, a magic steed and a white wolf) and actually the author brought the side characters to life and made you like and care for them. 4-I liked the lack of angst. When Victoria finds out the people she has been working and socializing with are vampires, werewolves and fey, she's very low key about it. I guess I would call this series a "cozy urban paranormal" with a love story and a HEA.

Thankfully, the main female character is not a wimpy, bubble-headed woman. Those are so belittling and boring. Thank you for a good read.
