King's (King Trilogy Series #1) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

KING'S (Book 1 of the USA Today Bestselling King Series):

"I am the man who can find anything or anyone. For a price. And my price is you."

When Mia Turner's brother goes missing in Mexico, while on an archaeological dig, she believes that life couldn't get much worse. But when she's blocked at every turn from finding answers, by both local and U.S. authorities, she must turn to a man she swears is the devil.

Others might be fooled by his private jet, fine tailored suits, and disarming smile, but Mia knows something dark, sinister, and unnatural lurks behind those penetrating, pale-gray eyes. And the more she learns, the more she realizes she may never be free again.

I am soooo sick of authors selling you only a part of a book! Of course this book ended with a cliffhanger and you have to buy the next book to get the rest of the story. And then im sure there will be a third book. On another note, the book tells a good story that now im going to have to buy the second book. I wish authors or barnes and noble would let buyers know its not a finished book!

Seriously Mimi you've done it again. You've created a fantastic new series that leaves us wanting more and more. Knowing this a trilogy and having to wait for book 3 is going to drive me insane. And the twists and mystery....GAHHH!!! Mimi this is why i read your book and love you so much. Keep them coming. And hurry with that book!!

This book is about 190ish pgs. I have read her other books & really enjoyed them, this was a struggle to read. No wonder it was free! Don't waste your time on this! Totally predictable! ***spoiler the Mia was horrid, I was hoping he would kill her, she was dumb, and continued to be dumb. What was there to like about King , again nothing. None of the characters had personalities. Also it was like she was trying to weave in 50 shades. King tells her, her brother isn't a good person, and she doesn't even scan her brother to check, not to mention King has been right about everything. This book was a total waste. Not sure how it got the reviews it did

I hate cliffhangers so I purposely waited until the conclusion was out to start reading this. And were they ever some cliffhangers! Must have been torture for those who read it when it first came out. This series is a little reminiscent of Karen Marie Moning's "Fever" series, only a LOT BETTER! And much darker than MJP's other works. Want more like this. SOOOOO Good!

I couldn't even finish this book. Flipped pages just to see how it ended. I think the author was going for a Barron's and Mac vibe but she totally missed the mark. Mia was so irritating and juvenile. One of those stupid heroines who deserves what she gets.

Love this book. Mimi makes you invest in the characters, and makes you want for more. Nothing is ever what it appears on the surface. Can't wait for her to finish the final book in the series. King for a Day, the next book in the series just makes you wish she would write faster. A must read for anyone who loves her other series

This new series is starting out like all of Mimi's books....Incredible! I swear she enjoys making me crazy. :) She is so Cimil like. :) She has me reeling, King is a man (perhaps) that people should be cautious of but yet there has to be more to him. I hope Mia can find out just what make King tick. The sub characters are intriguing, Mack...YUM! I just purchased Ling For A Day and am anxious to get started reading that. I am a long time fan of Mimi's and she never disappoints me although she makes me nervous when reading her exciting, wild books. Loved it Mimi!!

REVIEW BY NOEL WALLACE HALE I give this book a 11 on a scale of one to 10. This book catches you right from the beginning and does not let go. I started this book only last night and stayed up way past my bed time reading, and it was the first thing I picked up this morning I could not put it down till it was done. I am only taking time out from book number two to write this review because everyone needs to now about this series. If you have not read any of Mimi's other series such as the first installment of her Fate series or her Accidentally Yours series you are missing out

This book is a super clean cut copy of the Fever Series. I read other books by this same author and loved them. Thinking this book would be just as great I bought it just to be disappointed in its similarities to the Fever Series. Same plot of mysterious guy and girl that has lost a sibling. Just missing all the action and the extreme sci-fi elements which make the series fantastic and easy to read multiple times. This book is disappointing.

Mimi is a fab writer. She can really weave a tale whether her story is quirky or mysterious. I can not wait to read what happens in the whole trilogy. Book one does not disappoint.

Trilogy with Cliffhangers! OMG, I was so caught up in this book that I did not want to put it down. This book has action, suspense, sass and loads of chemistry that keeps you glued to the pages, then BAM, you get to the end and you know nothing at all but still have all these unanswered questions. No HEA, and a Damn CLIFFHANGER! That unfortunately just ruined it for me....

A lot like another author I read, not quite a copy of that author but it's pretty close. That being said, it was a good story with good characters.

This was a great book

This book was very difficult to read. I keep waiting for a reason or understanding about the story line, the main lead king and Mia. The abusive language used by King to Mia is disturbing. I dont see the need or the context. I saw similarities with the Fever Series. I wont be reading the rest of the books in this series.

But got a to be continued in the end. It seemed the story led no where, love the writing style but this one wasn't for me

I love how some authors write a really good, mysterious, action packed story and don't use graffic and porn to fill up empty pages, when switching scenes! This author definitely nows how to spin a tale or two, without jacking it up with raw porn. Throughout the read, I was bracing myself for the shoe to drop and it did not! Big kudos to this author, I take my hat off to you. If I could give you 7 stars, I would! I immediately purchased the next two books. Let's see if she remains to keep this classy!

King’s is book one in The King Trilogy by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff Wow, how do I review this book. I love Mimi Jean’s writing. Every one of her series is different and never fails to surprise me in some way. I think this one might just take the cake! Mia Turner has a great job, travels all over the country, and has a close relationship with her family. Especially her brother who is more like her best friend. So, when her brother goes missing on an archeological dig in Mexico, she’s scared like crazy. She tries to get information but no one will say anything. And when she is frustrated, alone, standing in the rain, with no where left to turn, a name and address is thrust into her hand. Go to him, he will help you. He will find your brother. “King. His name is King.” King is both handsome beyond belief, but sinister, dark, mysterious, cruel, manipulative, and so much more. He makes a deal with Mia. He will find her brother, and she must belong to him, for whatever he needs her for. “Was there more to the world than what one simply saw on the surface? Yes.” As Mia is pulled into the darkness of King’s life, she is thrust into a world she never imagined. A world where the rich bartered with people’s lives to get what they wanted. A world where things that should have been impossible suddenly become possible. Just what is King? Is he a human? Is he a monster? “Wish me luck.” “You don’t need luck. You just need King.” As it turns out, there is a reason King needs/wants Mia. She has an ability he needs. There is something he wants and he will do whatever it takes to get it. But, slowly, Mia starts to see something else under all that cold exterior. Pain. There is a reason he is the way he is. Something made him this way, something painful. I did love this book but I have to admit to you that I still have no idea what in the world King is. And there is a heck of a cliff hanger. Thankfully, I am reading the entire series so I won’t need to suffer in between books. I loved Mia and her toughness. Even though she is scared to death, she stands up to King. Perhaps she is the only one that does this and lives. Mia will do whatever she has to do to save her brother. Does that include a lifetime of servitude to King? And how did I feel about King? Is he dark and broody and cruel? Yes. But I loved him. I too see something there. He does want something but I believe he also cares, both for Mia and for his other friend/employee or whatever he is, Mack. Who I also loved by the way. So I am hooked. I have to know what in the world is happening. So off I go to book two, King for a Day. Stay tuned. “He was like a flame fueled by pure sin that I craved to touch.”
