About the Author

Nancy Warren has always loved to read books by funny, daring women. Bonus if the books are also about funny, daring women. Her influences are: Jane Austen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jenny Crusie, Susan Isaacs and Jennifer Weiner to name a few. Naturally, when she began writing, she chose romantic comedy featuring -- you guessed it - funny, daring women and the men who eventually win them. She believes in happy endings, the antidepressant effects of good chocolate and that if you want to enjoy the view from the top, you have to hike up the mountain. She has two amazing kids and the unconditional love of her Border Collie, Max.

Nancy's a USA today bestselling author of more than 50 novels. When she's not writing, she's hiking, skiing, traveling or sipping wine. She's appeared on the front page of the New York Times (when her book, Speed Dating launched Harlequin's NASCAR series), has been a clue in a crossword puzzle (National Post, Canada) and Her Valentine Fantasy is a January, 2014 Cosmo Red Hot Read. She's been a double finalist for the RITA award, won a Romantic Times award and often shares her love of writing in her popular workshops. In 2013 The Christmas Grandma Ran Away from Home was a Kindle Book Review Indie Award finalist.

Kiss a Girl in the Rain by Nancy Warren Take a Chance Series Book 1 Evan Chance has it all, or does he? He's in a top law firm, dating a beautiful woman and he has plenty of money. What else is there? When his mom sends a birthday card that includes his “bucket list” from when he was twelve, it haunts him a bit. How could he be so successful at almost thirty-five years old and not have accomplished some of the simple things on this list? Where did all the time go? And when something happens to someone he cares deeply for...it's like a wake-up call to start living. Doctor Caitlyn Sorenson lives in the tiny town of Miller's Pond. Most days it's great to know all your neighbors. Other times it can drive you crazy that they know every time you fart. One of those times is when the darkly handsome biker dude passes through town. Kind of hard to escape the eyes of the town when they do not want to lose their only doctor in town, and have hopes of her marrying the chief of police. This was such a good story that it was hard to set down until the end. Evan's troubles start with an ugly dog that soon grabs the reader's heart. Sometimes life is so busy while we chase endless dreams...that it's easy to miss what is right in front of us. I'm not sure what the second book will be about at this time, but I'm definitely excited to read more in this series. **Sexual content

This is a great book! I absolutely loved it. I fell in love with the characters from the start. Evan Chance had a great life, money, career, his family, and his girlfriend. But when his birthday approaches and his bucket list from when he was 12 turns up courtesy of his mom, things change for Evan. He takes his girlfriend to meet his family which doesn't go well, and some life changing events happen setting him on his mission to complete his bucket list. Once he starts it, he doesn't make it very far through because he's unexpectedly drawn into this little town starting with one incident and with someone wanting to be #6 on his bucket list. The way I see it, fate kept him there and brings him and Caitlyn together even if only planned for a short time. And before you know it, they are experiencing things they are not even yet ready to admit to each other because they had an understanding. But let's just say fate takes care of all thing. Of course you'll have to read the book to understand how. My favorite part of the book: well normally it's that part leading up to the admission. That point where the characters are just figuring out their feelings but haven't said anything. But in this book, there was another part that touched me even more and had me pretty emotional and having to fight back tears at the events. But I loved it!. I also love that the Author doesn't bore you with the details dragging on the introductions of the characters. And don't get me started with the ending. It was simply perfect for this book. I highly recommend this book. Once you read it, you'll discover the other key factor that helped bring these two together...

He's handsome. He's successful. He's in a relationship with the "perfect" woman. He's got more money than he'll ever spend. He's miserable. It takes a note from his 12 year old self and the death of his mentor to make him realize that having the perfect life just isn't what it's cracked up to be. She's beautiful. She's happy. She's successful. She's alone. She's already learned about the perfect life and has made her escape. A stray dog. A lonely stretch of country road. Fate has decided that together they have just a little more to learn. Enter a cast of characters that will warm your heart and make you smile. A little slice of rural living to remind you of simpler pleasures and small town adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed Kiss a Girl in the Rain and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series! Donna Cheatle/Brazen Bibliophile

Evan Chance’s life turned upside down when his mentor died. He decides to leave his corporate world behind, in order to complete the bucket list he made as a child. He sets out on the open road on his motorcycle and shortly thereafter he gets stuck in a small town after a collision with a mutt. In search of medical care for the dog, he meets the local doctor, Caitlyn Sorenson. Since Evan’s ride won’t be fixed for a few days and the dog has taken a liking to him, he decides to give this small town and the doctor a chance. The basis of this story sounds sweet and the plot-line follows through. However, there is a lot of spice between the two main characters as they grow to know each other. This is a fast, easy read and will leave readers wanting to read more about the Chance family. Note: This review was originally posted on the Ariesgrl Book Reviews website.

I really enjoyed this novella. It had 140 pages. It also had some profanity, the f word of course, GD and a few others, the words become less the farther I got into the bok. There were several missing words. Not enough to distract the reader and the rest of the editing was good. There is a good bit of hot and steamy sex. I have a bias against romance novels. I think young women read them, then expect their love life, marriage and family to be happily ever after, when this goal is impossible to achive. So it is love em fight em, leave em. Because of this I rate romances low and do not read a lot of them. I did not and do not like sex on the first date or even the second. I like it when the characters get to know each other a bit. I loved the dog and cat, the town and its eccentrics. I enjoyed the two main characters. One of the brothers is gay, but all that was said about this was...I am gay, my twin is not, strange huh? This was nice. The author did constantly tell the reader haw magnificent they are. They acted like real people, except for sex on day two. No violence. Several deaths due to health, some humor. Good book, well written. For adults. Chick lit, romance. One of the better ones, I have read. AD

The road less traveled Evan was a corporate attorney in Seattle working for his mentor and dating a fellow attorney. He had gone home with her for his 35 birthday but got a call that his mentor died of a massive heart attack. After the wake he received a gift of his mentors watch. His mom has sent him his life achievement list from when he was 12. He decided to take a leave and ride his motorcycle across country on side roads instead of freeways. He end up in Miller's Pond when he almost hits a dog a damages his bike. But he ends up meeting Caitlyn when he looks for a doc and they police officer tells him that there was a doc close. His 3 day layover turned his life around

Sometimes Fate Throws a Curve Ball, or a Dog That Looks Like a Mop! HEA with No cliffhangers! These are about the members of the Chase family. I suggest reading them in order to get the best experience. Content Warning: There is mild sex-play. ♥ Story ♥ This is the first full title in the Take A Chance Series. All of the full titles focus on one of the 11 siblings of the Chance family. First up is Evan. He is in the upper middle of the brood. Evan ❤ Caitlyn Evan Chance is turning 35. His mom gives him the bucket/todo list he wrote when he was 12. Aside from being rich, he hasn't accomplished much else. A tragedy close to his heart, makes him realize that there is not always another day. He decides to quit his lucrative job as a corporate lawyer and set out to complete his list. He doesn't get far before fate sets him on a different path. A mop of a dog runs in front of his bike and that starts a whole new adventure. The town he finds himself in, just won't let him escape. It's in a funny way, not a creepy children of the corn kind of way. Caitlyn Sorenson is the local doctor. She took over her grandfather's practice. Evan ends up on her doorstep with the dog, because the sheriff was trying to play a prank on her when he says she's a vet not a people doctor. Of course she is taken with the hunky biker, but tries to be professional. Evan doesn't make it easy for her to resist by putting his lawyering skills to use. EVAN’S AMAZING LIFE LIST Make a million dollars before age 30. Ride a motorcycle across the country Kiss a girl in the rain Run a marathon Learn Spanish Have sex with a woman! Learn to play an instrument Travel to India Fly a plane Scuba dive a ship wreck Swim in every ocean Swim with dolphins Hike the Grand Canyon Leave the world a better place than I found it The angst is low, which I appreciate. The two love birds do face some settling down issues. I think Caitlyn is a bit of a late grower in that department, but it all works out in the end. We get to meet a good chunk of the other siblings in the beginning of this story. I look forward to all of their stories! ♥ Author ♥ Nancy Warren made me laugh as well as pull my gut strings in anticipation! ♥ Narrator(s) ♥ I enjoyed Teri Schnaubelt's performance. Its like have a friend read you a story. ♥ Audio Production ♥ Normal speed was fine. Audiobook obtained at my request and I am voluntarily leaving this unbiased review.

Loving this series of short (140+ pages) stories about the 11 members (some by birth and some adopted) of the Chance family... Cute, funny and a lot of lessons to be learned... Now on book three and enjoying every one... This is the story of Lawyer Evan and doctor Caitlyn who both are burned out from their professions and they meet in a small town in Oregon... Great story of life and a 12 year old boy's Bucket List... Just loved it!!!
