Homeland Security Special Agent Eliana Solomon is on a mission to prevent terrorist attacks. Hard enough to do when the threats are human, almost impossible when it's an evil, shape shifting jinni. Eliana needs help so she calls the sexy and beguiling psychiatrist, Arta Shahani. However, no matter how good he is at his job, the man is on her blacklist. On their last case together, the guy left her for dead. Arta is stunned when he receives Eliana's call. Forced to abandon the woman he loves, he now fears she won't accept his shape-shifting skills as a Persian Lion. Eliana, in the meantime discovers she is a direct descendant of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba with special powers of her own. But will her skill and Arta's be enough to defeat the jinni, or will they lose the love history decreed for them as well as their lives in this battle of good versus evil?

I was lucky enough to read and review the previous book in this series, Kiss of the Silver Wolf, so had met Eliana Solomon in that story. Having said that, I don't believe you need to have read that to still thoroughly enjoy this one! In both books, the characters are well developed, with secrets that are slowly revealed and impact on their relationships with others. Eliana and Arta are both brilliantly penned characters, their historic encounters make their encounters now all the more poignant, especially as they find out more about each other and why events happened as they did (sorry, trying not to reveal any spoilers!) The author has mixed mythology, biblical tales, paranormal beings and present day fears and technology in a superb, delicious recipe cooked to perfection, ready to be devoured by readers. The well developed, complex characters and their secrets contribute to the developing mystery, adding intrigue and suspense to this thrilling tale. The alternating time lines running through the story bring the impact of historical events into present day occurrences, demonstrating the long lasting impact of choices made by ancestors in this riveting tale involving romances past and present, werewolves, jinni, lion shifters and so much more! If you enjoy reading well structured plots with mythological and historical choices made by characters impacting on their present day descendants together with action packed, paranormal threats, dangers and romance you'll probably, like me, be enthralled by this superbly crafted story which I have no hesitation in highly recommending. Thank you to Bewitching Book Tours for supplying an ARC of this novella for me to read in exchange for this, my honest review.

*I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review* Homeland Security Special Agent Eliana Solomon is on the hunt for another evil jinni, this time in Summertown, WV, where three young women and three young boys have gone missing. Aiding her, is the man she is secretly in love with, psychiatrist and shapeshifter, Dr. Arta Shahani. His heart belongs to her but they have a lot to sort out first, and an evil creature to bring down. Woven through their story is the sentimental love story of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Great writing and original plot make this an exciting read.

Kiss of the Virgin Queen is the second book in the Kiss of the Jinni Hunter series, and we get more about Eliana - the Homeland Security Operative mentioned in book 1. She is still hunting the Jinnis, and now has more information on werewolves too. She gets called to a new location to help with the disappearance of six children, 3 boys and 3 girls. Once she gets there, she realises that she needs the help of someone that she never thought she would see again, Arta. This book is set between the past and the present, with two sets of main characters. They are linked together, but not the reincarnations of the historical set. Eliana is a descendant of the Queen of Sheba, and Arta is a descendant of Shirvad, a shape shifting lion. Both stories are eloquently written. This book was enjoyable, but it just didn't 'zing' as much for me, and I'm not sure why. I think part of it may have been Eliana herself. She says that she is angry at Arta for leaving her for dead. Even the synopsis says that he is on her blacklist. However, when they meet, all she does is flirt with him, saying that they will have an intimate chat once everything is over. Now, I'm not one for unnecessary angst or miscommunication in books, but I think that I would have been a bit more "grrrr" if that had been me, even if I did like him! Well written, with no editing or grammatical errors, this book was a good addition to the series. Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

This series gets better and better! Author Sharon Buchbinder has continued her wonderful tale of werewolves and jinnis. This one will take you back in history to King Solomon as she builds on her story-line in present time and incorporates history. Intriguing and action packed, relax with a cold drink and enjoy this wonderful story. STORY LINE: Eliana Solomon, agent with Homeland Security, is back in the thick of things in this action packed book created by author Sharon Buchbinder. Called to Summertown, West Virginia to investigate the disappearance of 3 werewolf boys and 3 eighteen year old sisters, Eliana finds she must once again face the jinni, their danger to humanity, and their evil natures. Calling her team together, she is forced to ask for the help from attractive Dr. Arta Shahani, Psychiatrist and jinni expert and the man who left her to die in the desert on their last mission together. This mission is filled with jinni and the evil they forge in this small town. What is the jinni's mission in this small town and why take the children? Eliana and Arta will ferret out the secrets and mysteries involved in this intriguing story. Eliana's family history dates back to biblical times as does Dr. Shahani's. You will be engrossed in the history and story-line as Ms. Buchbinder weaves this tale of good and evil, possession, greed, vengeance and love. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT: Ms. Buchbinder has created a spell-binding history and legend based story. She takes you from the court of King Solomon to the present day and does so without lag or interruption of pace. The transition was seamless from one time period to another. I loved the story of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Ms. Buchbinder has researched the history behind her story-line and includes a section titled "author's notes"; do not skip this section as it has many interesting facts and legends which will add to your enjoyment of this book. Ms. Buchbinder had many threads in this story which she skillfully brought together to form a solid well-written book filled with history, mystery, good versus evil, and romance. The plot was skillfully developed and the pacing never slowed or lagged. She hooked me in the first pages of this action packed book. The attraction between Eliana and Arta was in peak form as they circled each other. Eliana finds Arta breathtaking and Arta finds Eliana just as intriguing. Arta has secrets he is not sure Eliana will accept. Eliana and Arts discover family history that neither was aware; Ms. Buchbinder skillfully wove the histories together as past and present meet. This book does contain one love scene between Arta and Eliana which I felt was tastefully written and was not explicit sex. This is a well-written solid paranormal romance that does not depend on sex to sell the story-line. RECOMMENDATION: 5 STARS Author Sharon Buchbinder created a book which will appeal to anyone who enjoys a solid well-written story. I found the history intriguing and enlightening. I look forward to the next book in this series. Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest book review. This book begins where Kiss of the Silver Wolf leaves off. It's the second of the Kiss of the Jinni Hunter Series. Eliana Solomon, Jinni Hunter is called to a small town in West Virginia to lead the search for an evil Jinni that has absconded several children from the local wolf pack. Fascinating, the best word to describe how Ms. Buchbinder has woven the tales from King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba into the stories of their great great great... grandchild. Family stories that were just thought of as old tales had more value than Eliana ever thought possible. This is definitely a book that once you start, you can't put down. It was an extremely enjoyable read.
