Kites (B&N Game of the Month)
Kites is an exciting, card-based game designed by Kevin Hamano with beautiful artwork by Beth Sobel. The goal is to keep the kites in the air by playing cards and flipping sand timers until all the cards have been played. If one of the sand timers runs out, a kite has fallen and the round is over. It’s an easy game to learn and set up, and requires collaborative gameplay — players work together towards a common goal rather than against each other. Kites has enough depth to keep adults engaged while being easy enough for kids to play, making it the perfect game for the whole family to enjoy.
In Kites, everyone works together to keep all their kites – represented by colorful sand timers – in the air. Take turns playing cards, flipping the sand timers, and coordinating with other players to ensure none of the timers run out.
