Overview

At the end of World War II, Cyril Conroy makes a wise investment that allows to him to build a real estate empire. His family goes from poor to rich and he decides to buy the Dutch House, a mansion outside of Philadelphia. His wife cannot stand living in the mansion and leaves. Maeve, the oldest sister, feels obligated to take care of her younger brother. Due to circumstances beyond their control, the siblings must abandon their dream house and return to the poverty their parents escaped. Adversity and nostalgia create an unbreakable bond between the two.
