Some pictures cannot simply be deciphered as motif photographs, but rather suggest abstract textures of a rough, fibrous paintbrush, smoothed colors, or oils merging with each other - and thus, painting. This confusing, vexatious game between two fundamentally different art techniques - photography and painting - emphasizes the esthetic dimension of his work.
