Water Can Keep You Alive ...
A man in a wheelchair goes missing in rough country in the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. Amateur sleuth Elizabeth "E.M." Danniher and KWMT-TV colleague Mike Paycik immediately join the search organized by local rancher Thomas Burrell.
But soon they're on a search of a different kind - a search for the truth.
It takes them deep into the intricacies of the western community served by the Red Sail Ditch - the irrigation system that could make a ranch viable or worthless. They find rivalries, cooperation, antagonisms, inter-dependencies, and motives for murder.
Or Get You Killed.

Love this series characters interactions are well played. Dialogue makes you laugh out loud. Only criticism is for heaven's sake like Lovin Spoonful sang... Did you ever have to make up your mind?... It's not often easy and not often kind....And then you bet you'd better finally decide. And say yes to one and let the other one ride.... She needs to pick a guy!
Another great mystery. I love these characters..
Started with book one. Now on my way to 5 ...totally enjoyable..great fun read.

Last Ditch by Patricia McLinn Caught Dead in Wyoming Series Book Four Elizabeth Margaret Danniher is a journalist who has ended up in the small, quiet town of Sherman, Wyoming after her divorce. Well...maybe not such a quiet town after all. She's had a few adventures since coming here and another one is about to start. When a man who is wheelchair bound goes missing and a call is put out for people to come search...Elizabeth joins in. With an ear always open for news, she learns plenty while staying at the house keeping the wife plied with coffee as the searchers come and go. When they find more than they were looking for, Elizabeth and her friends from the news station are on the job to find the truth. Who knew a ditch and water rights could turn neighbors against each other and cause so much trouble? This book is from Elizabeth's point of view only. **Mild language
A 285 page mystery book and fourth in series of the transplanted TV reporter at the search for a missing rancher.... This book has the great storyline of the other books BUT her dialog becomes countrified and western in some parts and then back to the eastern professional she is in other parts, also, the editing of sentence structure, missing words, and spelling has been missed in this book. If this had been the free book and first in series some of this would have been expected (the first book was well edited and finely put together), but as payment was rendered for THIS book , it should have been as well-written and edited as the others. Shoddy work. Great storyline - though a little rushed. Love the characters' representation.
