Overview

Laugh Clown Laugh is based on a true story. The historical novel opens in Brooklyn, NY in the 1930's. The main character, Violet Pearl Moretti, manages to suppress the battle within her heart by wearing a mask, starting with the vaudeville stage. Her outgoing personality is a cover-up for the insecurity she feels within. Its a flight from emotional madness to sanity.

Penny N. Haavig, a native of New York, currently resides in Minnesota with her husband Tom. Her grandfather was an entertainer on the vaudeville stage. She's a retired preschool teacher and can be found clowning around in area senior living facilities, as Dancing Dot, the caring clown. Penny volunteers at Love, Inc. and Alomere Hospital.
Laugh Clown Laugh is her first novel.
