Law & Beard (Dixie Warden Rejects MC Series #8) by Lani Lynn Vale

Winnie thinks she has the perfect life.

Two beautiful, healthy children. A police officer husband. A job that she loves. Oh, and let's not forget that she's a nationally ranked marathon runner.

Fast forward six months, and her perfect life has imploded.

Winnie finds herself in a completely new world, and this new world is a brutal bitch.

In this new life of hers, her husband is gone. He realizes, at the worst possible time, that he's no longer in love with her. He's in love with her best friend. He leaves, and doesn't look back.

Her sixteen-year-old daughter is in trouble with the law, and she's barely making ends meet thanks to losing the job that was keeping her and her tiny family afloat.

Then, the last thing that could make it all bearable, her running, is ripped out from under her, too. Thanks to a spinal stroke that leaves her unable to walk, let alone run, she's having to relearn how to do the simplest of tasks--such as putting on her own pants.

She's at the lowest of lows, and the last thing she wants is a sexy, bearded, motorcycle riding alpha to tell her how to live her life.

But Steel Cross never asks her what she wants.

The moment Steel Cross sees Winnie's daughter steal some shoes for her younger brother, he knows he's in trouble.

He's a sucker for misunderstood teens. After all, he was once one himself.

He knows he can't just walk away, and the moment he sees that troubled teen's mother, he doesn't just know it, he feels it. Down to the very bottom of his soul.

With his share of hard knocks, he knows that he shouldn't step in and make his move on a fellow police officer's ex. There's a code, after all, yet he just can't seem to help himself.

He's done being the good guy. Sometimes he just wants to be bad.

And Winnie makes him realize that being bad is still kind of good. As long as you're with the right person.

Lani Lynn Vale does it again with another hot book. Loved how Steel aka Big Papa finds Winnie and his own happy ending. While it's not smooth sailing, it a classic Lani book. Can't wait for the next books, Rafe and Parker. Plus loving all the cameos by old friends from her other books. Plus Lani Lynn Vale needs to do more books about her older hot alphas, like she did with Silas and Steel, as we know she has some lingering - Joker, Tunnel's dad, etc.

This was the absolute best Lani Lynn Vale book I've read, and I've read everything but her dragon books. Two thumbs up, Five golden stars! Loved it!

This author never fails to come through with what I believe to be excellent story telling, romance and just the right amount of sexual interest. I anxiously wait for her next, then her next new book. She does not disappoint.

LLV is a truly awesome writer. This was a great storyline. I loved the developing relationship of Steel & Winnie. Weaving throughout the story all the different characters from other books. Great plot, suspenseful and funny, it’s definitely a great read.

Every woman needs a Wilder in their lives. Joslyn finally agreed to a date with Wilder. He'd been asking and she'd been refusing. She'd been safe for a year. Maybe they'd stopped looking for her. Why he wanted to go out with her she didn't know. He was gorgeous. Wilder finally got her to agree to go out with him. He usually wouldn't be that patient but she was gonna be his whatever it took. She never showed. She left and no one knew where she'd gone--until she called her boss and friend asking for help. She just couldn't do it alone anymore. Her friend was sending someone to get her. Wilder showed up. He made her feel safe and didn't push. Would he be able to win her? Or would her past show up to take her from him? The MC brothers stand by them to help when they need it. The loyalty and friendship are amazing. Their relationship is steamy and tender and did I mention steamy? MC brothers and women live by their own code and are loyal to that code above all else. It may not be the norm but it is theirs. A story that will offer hope of love to all. Reviewed For Words Turn Me On

Another great read from LLV! This one lived up to all the hype and had me laughing and smiling and yes, feeling punchy. It touches on all the emotions and leaves you wanting more. I think this one has just gone in the top 5. So much better than Silas’ book.

This is the first time I have read this author’s Dixie Warden Rejects MC books and I have been missing out. I have read a couple of her other books from different series and genre and I should have known that I wouldn’t be disappointed. I love a story with a strong alpha silver fox. Steel, I am going to refer to him as that because I have a hard time calling him Big Papa, as does the heroine Winnie. He is a character with a larger than life presence and he is genuinely a great guy. His is not only the President of the Dixie Wardens Rejects MC, he is also Chief of Police. As Winnie’s neighbor, he sees her struggle and his encounters with her 16-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son, just made him that much more attractive to me. Even though he is older than Winnie, the attraction and chemistry between the two is through the roof. Winnie is a great character with a lot of spirit and she fiercely loves her children. She is a fighter working through her spinal stroke to get back on her feet and provide for her family, since her ex is useless. Her ex is a real creep and I wish someone would punch him! There is some suspense involved that added to story. It started a little slow for me but boy it picked up and held me captive. There is also humor, which I love! This is truly a terrific book. It has more about couple than the MC, but the MC does play a role in the plot. Give this book a read, you won’t be disappointed.

Big Papa Steel "Big Papa" Cross (Silver Fox Extraordinaire) is the chief of police along with being the president of the Dixie Wardens Rejects MC and thought he had everything, his family and the men at his back. That was until he runs into a rebellious teen who he later finds out was trying to do good, leads him to trying to figure out what is going on with his new neighbor. Only what he finds end up drawing him into Winnie's life and its at a time where she needs the help but don;t quite know what to make of it. These two are magic together and of course with everything that is Lani nothing is ever what it seems and the more you read the more entranced you become not only with her writing style but also with the characters that you fall in love with. I thought Silas was something but Big Papa is in a league of his own especially when he's wearing Wranglers!!!!

LOVE THIS BOOK.. Omg it has everything.. Humor, Romance, Suspense, Aghast, Alpha Bikers, Strong Females, you see what I mean - it has it all. Plus, the author has written a wonderful storyline that will leave you smiling, cringing, sighing and wanting to Jump for Joy (Heck I even did a fist pump a time or two). And the characters… just wow.. You have a struggling single mom who is trying to control a rebellious teenage girl and a young son with a wild imagination and a thirst for fun facts (thank goodness for Google), you have a MC Prez who also happens to be the Chief of Police who is also single, older and oh so yummy (his compassion for people is amazing). Oh and I can’t leave out all the other peeps in the book. Their parts are written spot on; even the bad guys and the ex’s are well defined and add to the storyline perfectly (well at least for me they did). I can’t recommend this book enough. I really can’t get into the plot or I’d end up spoiling it but I will say watching Winnie and Steel’s paths cross and their interactions with each other and their families is so heartwarming and was fabulous to read. Watching them deal with their personal everyday life situations, especially with past troubles strike, made t
