I'm a Teachers aide for special Ed. I took an interest in learning sign language to comunicate with a deaf girl named Destiny. Now she knows what I'm 'saying' with my fingers. If you want to learn sign easy and fast get this book!!!

I got the book for my older son because his younger brother is having problems communicating. He enjoys going over the book over and over then showing me the sign he has learned. He is getting very good and not having any trouble at all.

This book is great for both adults and children; it is well worth the cost. All signs are shown with a picture and a written description of how to perform the sign. The alphabet is the first thing you learn, followed by common signs. At the end of each chapter, there are sample sentences for you to practice with. There is also a great section in the back with deaf games, ones that small groups (even children!) can play with both deaf children or just people who are learning sign. This is a great book, I would highly recommend it.

I read this book on a road trip.I recommend this book for those that are beginners and want to learn the basics. You first learn the alphabet, numbers, and then people, colors, etc. It doesn't go in depth on how to have a conversation but it teaches you the basics. I recommend taking an ASL class and purchasing a dictionary and classroom text book. This book was fun and useful for my kids and I to sign basic things such as food, and our name. Overall it is a good book because it does teach you to sign in a fun way.

I was hoping for a better sneak peak with this book instead ofjust the Introduction. Sample is an inconvenience....The whole point of the nook is to be able to shop virtually and now I am going to have to go to barnes and noble and check out the book to see if I like it or not.
