Lexie Starr discovers that her new son-in-law may have killed his first wife. She starts to investigate his past life by driving from Kansas to Schenectady, NY. Lexie stays in a Bed & Breakfast run by an eccentric elderly woman named Harriet, who owns a foul mouthed parrot. Harriet is a fun character and ends up helping Lexie in her investigation. Lexie meets a new friend, Stone Van Patten, a jeweler from South Carolina, who also helps her in her effort to find out the truth about her son-in-law. Lexie will do anything to find the truth and protect her daughter, her only child, who has no idea that her husband may be a killer and that she may be next on his list. This is an exciting book and leaves you surprised at the ending. It is well written and the different locations make for an interesting read. I am anxiously awaiting the next Lexie Starr book in this series.

LOVE THIS HUMOROUS SERIES! Lexie's spunky character is easy to relate to, and her devil-may-care attitude provides a lot of laugh-out-loud moments. I really enjoy this author's humor and laughed all the way through this book.  Can't wait to read the rest of the Lexie Starr series.  I highly recommend this book to cozy lovers!

I agree with the complaints about reviewers on here that seem to think they are doing a book report every time they post a review. I suggest those people stop ruining books for the rest of us.

Short story. It was fun to read

I agree with the 13 year old reviewer. This book is written on a child's level. Similar to Nancy Drew but not as good. Fast paced because no character development, except for referrals to television characters such as Sponge Bob and Barny Fife, dialect from the Beverly Hillbillies and classic cliches from well known movies.

NOTICE TO REVIEWERS! This is a fun to read and terrific novel, the first one of a great cozy series.  All of you posting 1-star reviews to vent,, or voice your opinions, about something other than the actual book you're supposed to be rating and reviewing, are doing nothing but selflessly hurting the writing career of the author. Jeanne Glidewell doesn't deserve this kind of thoughtless behavior . Please read the book and give an honest review of it, not damage the author's reputation by posting 1-star reviews to complain about other reviewers, or reviewing policies, or saying you don't know if you'll like it or not because you haven't read it yet. Really?  A book you've never read deserves a 1-star rating?  It's not fair to the writer, or to readers like me who want to be able to trust the rating system to know what books I might enjoy reading.  I know I greatly enjoyed LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED, and highly recommend other readers who enjoyed this book to post honest reviews of it for the sake of the author and other readers.

I love the author's books. I like trying to figure how who did it before the end of each book. Lexie Starr has me hooked.  She is funny and outrageous , but will not quit until she solves the crime.  Keep the books coming!!

I love everything Jeanne writes and she didn't disappoint with this book. I cannot understand the one star reviews and hope everyone will disregard, since they didn't even write anything as a review. At least I found no words with them. I highly recommend this book for a good fun read.

to ilovestofish the trick is to skim the reviews and when they start telling the story move on to the next one I don't want to know the whole book either, most info on the cover (so to speak) is enough to entice me ... for the rest of you, PLEASE don't give the story away, that's the purpose of reading, isn't it?

Ok book....the main char is a little to silly for me. The daughter selfcentered and bratty. The story was rushed and unrealistic. The mystery sort ofsaves it

A great, fast read.

Really great story! All the characters are very believable & LEXIE (the mom) goes to great lengths to "protect" her pregnant daughter who she believes is in danger from her 'new' husband!!!

I enjoyed the story inspite of many punctuation and word usage errors. Is proofreading not "in style" any more?

Completely unbelievable, I kept on saying What? A mother worried about her only child's life will just hang out at a B&B reading and relaxing, working on romancing etc. "Really", WOW! Talk about shallow. No one will willingly leave there luggage behind and just go. Seems like the author wanted to work kidnapping in the plot but changed her mind or could not think of a better way to show that the daughter was on the flight. It never occurred to the investigating genius to ask if the guy who grew up there, had any family left in the area....

This book was good until the end of it. Then it rapidly devolved into senselessness. It might have been your typical TV show ending, which is probably where this author got the idea for the ending, but it made no sense whatsoever. Despite the illogical ending, the book was good.

I enjoyed this mystery. I thought the storyline was fairly new and original and was entertained by the creative ways the heroine had of uncovering more info. The only thing that disappointed me was the ending because it wrapped up like a scooby doo cartoon! For some reason every character, even minor ones, were present for the climax when all truths and motives were discovered. However, I would read more by this author. This story is approx 175 pages.

Nothing highly complex or gripping, no big plot twists, just a simple whodonit. I main character is likable enough but not a rocket scientist. The characters who will undoubtedly appear in following books need to be fleshed out more. It must have been OK because I bought book #2 in the series.
