Les Misérables-Tome 1 est le premier volume du célèbre roman de Victor Hugo, publié en 1862. Il raconte l'histoire de Jean Valjean, un ancien forçat qui tente de se racheter après avoir été condamné pour avoir volé du pain. Il rencontre Fantine, une jeune ouvrière qui a été abandonnée par son amant et qui doit vendre ses cheveux, ses dents et son corps pour nourrir sa fille Cosette. Jean Valjean promet à Fantine de s'occuper de Cosette, mais il est poursuivi par l'inspecteur Javert.
