What happens when soul and spirit go dancing together?
They get revealed for who they are. After a dance filled with sentiments of reflection, regret, pleasure, forgiveness, letting go, and acceptance, they get resurrected as a divine pair. Only then will a human possessing them be freed of earthly troubles.
Life offers a classroom of lessons so that you become aware of your higher self. In order to awaken or transform spiritually, you need an inward visit to your human experiences.
Let’s go Dancing in the Light is a soulful anthology of poetry and prose. It is the sacred dancing venue of soul and spirit. Through narrations and poems, the book delves into human struggles and transformations as a spiritual quest to seek inner peace and the light of divinity. The stories and poems are humanly raw, for it is in the stripping bare of a soul that one can receive and give the blessing of light through spirit.
May you too find light when it’s time to bring your pair to the dancing venue.

Reviewed by Ruffina Oserio for Readers' Favorite Thoughtful and spiritually intoxicating, Let’s Go Dancing in the Light: A Collection of Poetry and Prose for Soul and Spirit by Gloria D. Gonsalves is a compendium of both poems and essays designed to intoxicate the soul with lofty and pious thoughts — I would use the word “radical” thoughts with reservation. A collection that invites the reader to reconsider the realities that are most intimate to the human soul: love and faith, pain and regret, forgiveness, self-acceptance, and a lot more. This collection is a powerful reflection of the moments of the spirit and the divine impulse that lifts the soul and spirit of humans to aspire to the values that create meaning and enhance their sense of self. Readers will find short, rhythmic, and well-crafted poems that explore the climates of the soul. I had so many things to ponder about while reading the words in this collection. For instance, in “In Search of Liberty,” Gloria D. Gonsalves captures the sentiments and reality of many a desolate soul seeking appreciation and acceptance, a poem that powerfully demonstrates the weakness experienced by almost everyone at some point, wanting to belong: “Meeting and speaking in the tones of presence. Nodding and agreeing to the ideas made for me.” Then there is the subtle, yet poignant indictment of religious violence, fanaticism, and terrorism orchestrated in the name of God: "Tell me which God amputates children as victory, kills to amplify the holy word." This collection is awesome, loosely written, but very realistic. I enjoyed the realism and how the author looks at very common feelings, the unsayable sentiments that often stare us in the face, and how she so beautifully helps the reader to think about their soul’s language, spirituality, expression of being, and a lot more. The writing is poetic, lyrical, and loaded with reflections that will help readers look at life in a more focused and positive way. Let’s Go Dancing in the Light: A Collection of Poetry and Prose for Soul and Spirit is a gift of music, of thought, and of love. It is spiritual, poetic, and at times very philosophical.
Reviewed by Marta Tandori for Readers' Favorite Let’s Go Dancing in the Light is a collection of poetry and prose for the soul and spirit by poet Gloria D. Gonsalves. Gonsalves reaches to the heavens and the night sky, then becomes one with nature before reaching into her soul to bring us beautiful words, starkly presented, which ultimately make us aware of emotions and feelings we never knew we had. She spills her secrets in Inconceivable Truth; apologizes for her forefathers’ actions in The Pact, thereby beginning the healing process for a wound that has festered for generations; provides stark food for thought in To the Denizens of Now; provides kernels of wisdom in Jungle of Life and a eulogy to life in A Litany of Life; and finally, she provides an ode to humankind in How Can Each One of Us Save the World? Gonsalves’ prose is deeply spiritual, deceptively simple and, at times, heartrendingly stark in its evocative imagery. She shows us that it’s not necessary to have verses rhyme to give them interest nor words to be entirely cohesive to give them meaning and impact. Each of the words has been chosen with care in order to convey snippets of emotion, dialogue, feelings, faith and hope. Gonsalves’ offerings speak of humanity and acceptance, no better exemplified than in Forbidden Thoughts where she states: “We are all different spiritual with the same source of divine light.” In A Flower in the Sky, she also makes us realize that, as humans, we all have our strengths and weaknesses, especially when it comes to starting over: some are good at it, others are terrible at it, while there are those who simply won’t do it. Her message is for every last one of us and Let’s Go Dancing in the Light provides just that – light and nourishment for our weary spirits and the souls. Nourishment, anyone?
