Set against the backdrop of WW2 in a small Iowan farm town, 'Letters' is a heart warming tale of innocence, friendship, love, culture, and endurance. When Clyde, an awkward American boy, receives a letter from Elisa, an Italian girl living under the fascist rule of Mussolini, the two immediately become friends. The two enjoy educating each other of their cultural differences and similarities. But as war tears throughout Europe, their relationship begins to become troubled as well.
