That’s no longer an easy statement.
Who am I?
Since Sterling Sparrow, a man so handsome he takes my breath away and so infuriating he pushes me in ways I’ve never known, came barreling into my life like a category five hurricane, I can’t even finish that simple statement.
In twenty-six years I’ve lived three lives—been three different people.
Renee. Kennedy. And now, Araneae.
They say that I was named after the spider to make me resilient.
Sparrow would then be a bird.
Birds eat spiders.
I prefer to consider myself a cat. It ups my chance of surviving the world I’m now living.
Maybe that’s only wishful thinking because according to Sterling, my number of lives is running out.
There are people who want to harm me, to learn the secrets they claim that I possess.
The only person to offer me protection is Sterling Sparrow.
Can I trust a man who willingly put me in the sight of danger?
What is real?
What are lies?

Note: This review contains NO spoilers Lies! That's exactly what lies ahead in this second installment of the Web of Sin trilogy by Aleatha Romig! And, Aleatha did not disappoint! Lies starts where Secrets left off. The suspense and intrigue is taken another notch up as Araneae continues to search for answers as she learns about this life that she was being "protected" from..until she met Sterling. The twists and turns with every turn of the page kept me at "the edge of my seat" wondering "what the hell!" Well, just when I thought I have pieced "things" together, Aleatha sabotages us with more twists... Oh the lies and secrets that are abound in this trilogy is just so juicy and intense! Then, there's the growing romance between Sterling and Araneae. Wow! Sizzling! Because of the lies and secrets around Araneae, trust is so hard to grasp. We already started seeing that in Secrets, but even more so in Lies. But, of course, we are left with another gripping cliffhanger in which we will have to wait anxiously for the epic conclusion of this trilogy with Promises. Oh, what a web of sin that these characters weave... An engrossing and thrilling read! Reviewer: Jasmine
I must say that Aleatha has knocked it out of the park with this one. I found Lies, #2, a little more enjoyable than the last as the mystery has been kicked up a notch. I found myself trying to find every little second I had reading this book so I could find out more. Aleatha Romig keeps up with the plot of the story with more intense emotions between the main characters with more of her signature steamy scenes. Sterling Sparrow is the quintessential alpha male in the last book and most definitely in this book as well. Aleatha Romig has me hooked and reeled in. I can't wait to read Promises, #3. Ugh, is it January yet?
