Lee Hammond is a very gifted, talented artist and an equally gifted instructor. This book could have stood one more round of editing; but the content more than makes up for the editor's/publisher's oversights. I especially appreciate the light that Ms. Hammond shed's on her own drawing techniques: using the grid method to get the basic line drawing down, and then using the varying levels of shading to create the incredible life-likeness that is so characteristic of her artwork. Definitely two thumbs up!
this is a good book to have if you are learning to draw. this book teaches you how to take a drawing and make it look real. the book explains this technique well and have a few demonstrations for you to try. a good book to learn from.
Has everything for the beginner or the advanced drawer. This book has everything you need from equipment to drawing people, places and things. Just love it and you will too!
Lee Hammnond really explains her technique well in this book. It has crisp, clear pictures and good examples to follow. Hammond provides before and after photos of some of her students work and it is amazing to see the improvement. This is one of the better Hammond books. Only her videos are better. I would recommend this to anyone interested in learning how to draw. Hammond walks the reader through step by step and, unlike some drawing boks, this one is really easy to understand.
